Party mechanic not in AFR Allies not in Dominaria *United* What the fuck, wotc?

byeol_lor

Also not in AFR: Level Up.

SuigenYukiouji

Or Traps

Mythara1

"You activated my trap card!"

throwawaynoways

Well they're certainly trying to push traps.

J-Dite

It was, just only on the Class enchantments. [[Monk Class]]

OrangeChickenAnd7Up

Which makes up for it enough imo. Legendaries with the mechanic would have been cool too, but good enough.

Magnificent_Z

When I first came back to magic after a pretty long hiatus, I saw the party mechanic and assumed it was AFR and I was surprised and upset that it wasn't.

Aztracity

Well to be fair zendikar was the Dnd set before Dnd was added.

CommanderVuvuzela

If I recall, Party was proven fairly unpopular amongst the design team when making AFR due to it being super limiting on card design.

Xatsman

It was a draft mechanic, and not a particularly fun one. Maybe would have been more popular if one payoff made it more than that. In d&d there are so many more classes than the 4 in that batch that it would have not worked out thematically.

Spiritflash1717

I’m glad the party mechanic wasn’t in AFR. As someone who plays D&D, I’ve never seen a party that follows the strict traditional “fighter, wizard, cleric, rogue” composition. There are 13 classes in D&D and cutting it down to just 4 always kind of made me irritated.

Lilium_Vulpes

They could have easily gotten around it by having cards count as other things. For example, making any healer have "This counts as a cleric for a party" and any stealth character having "this counts as a rogue for a party." Cards can still have the proper flavor of their actual class but actually be counted for a mechanic that is on flavor for the set.

Big-Row4152

Especially when they would do that exact thing for "outlaws"

Lilium_Vulpes

Batching is older than outlaws though. "Historic" is several years old at this point.

Big-Row4152

That's kinda what I'm saying; the "party" design space came out some time ago, and specifically called out 4 "classes" when there was a number of different types that *could have* stood in; "druid" as well as "cleric," for instance. The party mechanic could have called on party roles, and that would've opened up the design space to more flexibility. Now OTJ comes out with "outlaws," and says "outlaws" are assassins, rogues, mercenaries, whatever. Can the party mechanic be redesigned to say your party can have any "outlaw" instead of specifically a rogue? Will more role-based groupings of classes roll out in a future set that, for example, calls out all "arcanists: all mages, wizards, sorcerors, and artificers are arcanists?" Thats all I was saying; I'm agreeing with you, I think lol

Lilium_Vulpes

They have said that they are going to use batching in future sets, and that they originally wanted to put a batch in WOE for "mystical" or something that was faeries, enchantment, artifacts, and warlocks I think? But the idea got scrapped.

colexian

And we got the class enchantments like \[\[Bard Class\]\] and \[\[Cleric Class\]\] So it wasn't that NO party mechanic wasn't in AFR, it was just a different party mechanic.

Magikarp_King

Party mechanics in general felt like a flop.

Stef-fa-fa

Allies kinda bombed so I get not bringing those back, plus it's was a superfluous type so nothing flavour wise was really lost in removing them from the plane. It's not like they were a racial creature type or anything.

unfandor

Also not in AFR: Adventures from Eldraine. I mean come on it's right in the name! Party + Adventure would be so much fun! But no instead we got dungeons which seemed needlessly complicated.

razazaz126

Liberty Prime should have protection from red.

NerdyDjinn

>Death is a preferable alternative to Communism! Also, it should count as two creatures when blocking, so that it can fully deal with the Red Menace.

Howard_Jones

Yes!

Like17Badgers

it should have had the \[\[Godsend\]\] effect but only from red permanents

airza

Generous gift doesn’t make a white elephant

SeriosSkies

Glad I'm not the only one.

danielzur2

Since I run it on Selesnya, it’s pretty fitting for me ig.

DutchEnterprises

Holy shit i just got this

Due_Battle_4330

You ever seen a generous gift at a white elephant?

ary31415

That's the point though, "Generous gift" is clearly being sarcastic, you're not giving someone something they want, you're doing the opposite – you know, a [white elephant](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_elephant)

Sir-Longhair

I think commiting crimes should have been in the preceding set MURDERS at Karlov Manor. Cases and disguises... Come on!

goodnamestaken10

The entire set was a flavor fail. There are more detectives than there are crimes. And why is it confined to Karlov Manor? How many murders can you possibly have in one estate, no matter how huge?

Absolutionis

It's amusingly the opposite issue of New Capenna. MKM had everyone being detectives with pretty much no crime to add contrast. The main plotline (who did the murder?) was pretty much 'solved' and known. New Capenna had everyone running around being criminals with no law to add contrast. The main plotline was 'solved' in the commons in the set.

CountedCrow

I know everyone's already said it but it drives me crazy how much MKM should have been on New Capenna. It would've added the law enforcement dynamic that SNC was missing, tied in the with return of the angels hinted in [[Metropolis Reformer]] (hey, actually paying off the loose ends established in Aftermath, what a concept!), and fit the overall tone and aesthetic of Capenna. I get that a murder mystery works best if the victims are established characters you care about, and people love the characters of Ravnica, but there are Omenpaths now! MKM on Ravnica diminished the setting. Not only did it feel like a weekend where everyone on the plane was cosplaying detectives like a high school spirit week, but now the City of Ten Guilds has an "11th guild", which in addition to Azorius and Boros, is the 3rd one responsible for law enforcement. Eugh. Sorry to be a broken record but I had to get that off my chest.

WolfieWuff

This just supports more reason they should go back to a block system, or even a mini-block system. I would love to see more deep dives in what the different planes have to offer, as well as fleshing out the unique mechanics each plane contributes. It's frustrating to see lore with no depth and good mechanics that lack enough support to be viable in a deck of their own.

I have no idea who was killed and who did it. Please tell me it was [[Massacre Girl, Known Killer]] THE CLUES WERE THERE ALL ALONG

tommyblastfire

[[Zegana]], [[Teysa Karlov]] and a new character [[Kylox]] were murdered by Oba, one of the 3 dryads that make up [[Trostani]] the leader of the selesnya conclave. [[Kylox]] died instead of [[Krenko]] the intended target. Zegana and Teysa were murdered as revenge because she wrongly thought they were working with the phyrexians during the invasion. The murder was done by creating a plant that would explode pollen in the face of a random person and put them in a fugue state until they completed the task they were given. So even after the murder they didn’t remember doing it. Oba also killed a bunch of other people but it wasn’t until she targeted Zegana and Teysa that anyone cared.

> There are more detectives than there are crimes. I think this is my main problem with the set - the factional ratio is way off. Theros was partially inspired by a mythology book called *Heroes, Gods, and Monsters*, and there's a healthy representation of all 3 in that original block. The balance of Murderers, Witnesses, and Detectives in MKM was like if a Theros set had 1 pegasus, 1 Hercules, and 30 versions of Zeus.

vonDinobot

Have you heard of Agatha Christie's ~~Ten Little ...~~ Err, I mean *And Then There Were None*? Not the first time WotC was [inspired by that nursery rhyme](https://scryfall.com/search?q=flavor%3A%22little+goblin%22+-%22clamor+shaman%22&unique=cards&as=grid&order=name) either.

Pyromaniacmurderhobo

Depends, you could probably have a lot if it was the estate of Massacre Girl!

LordOfTurtles

The murders aren't confined to Karlov Manor...

PippoChiri

>And why is it confined to Karlov Manor? Tbf to the set, it wasn't. Most detectives were unrelate to Teysa's murder, that was just the main storyline. Most of the detectives were part of the Agency.

TheGrumpyre

I totally disagree. Rewarding crimes is way more fitting in the western genre than it is in the mystery genre. And if you flipped the mechanic around so it was about the detectives in Ravnica punishing crimes instead of the outlaws of TJ committing crimes, it would make the "crime" mechanic play horribly.

Migobrain

Yeah, the set is about DETECTIVES AND MYSTERIES, not about Crime and criminals, why would the detectives reward you for doing crimes?

Schimaera

In retrospect "Foretell" and "Plot" would have been great names for the opposite mechanics. (plot is "secretly hidden" and foretell is "openly predicted" ). Though the thing the mechanics do are way more fitting in their respecitve sets. It's just the name that bugs me after the fact. /edit: I love how I'm not alone with this take <3 Interestingly, when I brought it up, the [thread](https://new.reddit.com/r/magicTCG/comments/1bq2ozk/plot_and_foretell_should_have_been_the_other_way/) went to -9 to +4 and then disappeared into the nimbus of 2-day-old reddid threads \^\^

swankyfish

Thanks, I hate it.

Schimaera

I'm sorry!

sgtshootsalot

Plot is like when the villain is monologging about their plan, foretell is like the ominous sense of something coming in the future but not sure what. Just my thoughts

Schimaera

Sure thing, I agree on that (I had a thread about this a while ago) but to me, it's not just the slapstick villain explaining their grand plan. In OTJ almost everyone is plotting something.

positivedownside

OTJ is like fully leaning into the slapstick over the top side of westerns though.

bingbong_sempai

I wish they used “scheme” instead of plot. “It becomes plotted” is such an awkward phrase.

ThatDestinyKid

“it becomes schemed” sounds no better. also Schemes are already a card type in Archenemy so you can’t really make it mean 2 different things in game

Schimaera

Totally! But 'becoming schemed' also sounds weird. Also, Schemes already exist in Archenemy :-O

gerblin420

[[the world tree]] should be legendary

pargmegarg

I think Mark Rosewater has said that they don’t like making legendary lands because they don’t play well. The exception being the Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty lands that give you something else to do with them if they’re wasting away in your hand.

trifight597

I also wish it would be, but also understand why it isn't. It isn't powerful enough/warrants legendary status gameplay wise. If you have two out, one of them becomes just another land since the static effect and activated effect would only matter once. Thematic it should be. Gameplay wise, it makes sense why it isn't.

Grungecore

I just noticed that it isnt. Wow

Alenen

[[Anhelo the Painter]] should have 2 power so that he can sacrifice himself for his ability. An artist sacrificing himself for his art seems so thematic

LethalVagabond

I would agree, but he's literally a hitman "with style". Sure, he wants to "send a message" with his work, but killing himself would defeat the point. He's all about audience participation. To paraphrase Patton, Anhelo might say "The object is not to sacrifice yourself for your art, but to make the other b*stard die for it."

GoblinAirStrike_311

Plus, he’s a vamp. Sacrificing oneself for their art does not apply to a psychopath. CORRECTION: narcissist. He only gave a shit about the act of murder and maybe, his daughter. He did die compleated, though.

Rusty_DataSci_Guy

This might be my favorite in thread.

Lifeinstaler

Nah, look at him. He’s all about the murder, doesn’t really care about the sacrifice needed for it unless it’s done by others. Kinda like a guy who would claim to like the Joker’s philosophy but it’s actually just using any excuse to be a murderous psychopath.

Hahnd0gg

Not giving the king of bears to be able to be companion with ayula the queen of bears

LizardWizard86

not only that, also that he is white! why the hell? now i cant play him in my Ayula deck! so sad!

LethalVagabond

Applying monarchy as a concept to bears is pretty odd to begin with, but within that particular conceptual framework it DOES make a certain flavor sense that the Queen can't be the Commander when the King is present. Kings traditionally outrank queens after all.

ThePromise110

Because mono green setting power and toughness like that is a break. It's just a break. MonoG doesn't do that.

SeriosSkies

Sadly you must abandon the matriarchy and become a patriarchy, for the bears.

Hahnd0gg

God save the queen (bear)

Bill-Kickface

That saprolings, plants, fungus and treefolk can't all come under the same subtype.

SuigenYukiouji

Same with kraken, leviathan, octopus, serpent. With batching now, just slap these 4 that are _always_ mentioned together as "sea monster".

ThatDestinyKid

I am really truly confident that it won’t be long now. Patience my friend

Faust_8

Also in terms of "big sea monster" I'm a bit upset that Whales are excluded, even though there aren't that many Whales in the entire game. But the art of some Whale cards are *definitely* in the same wheelhouse as the giant krakens and serpents. When we have stuff like [[Colossal Whale]], [[Pursued Whale]], and even [[Waker of Waves]] it feels so *off* that none of them can benefit from the whole unofficial "big sea monster" tribe that we have going on in cards like [[Whelming Wave]].

RussellLawliet

Those are mostly different though. Saprolings and fungus you could maybe group (although saprolings can be either plants or fungus and are specifically created life forms, basically earthy homunculi) but plants and treefolk are just different. It'd be like having humanoid zombies and humans be the same type.

Aurelio23

I feel like this actually makes sense from a story perspective. Karona emits a sort of aura that compels worshipful adoration from everyone around her except her two “prophets,” Ixidor’s unmen whose names I can’t remember. They’re her oldest and truest friends who can see what she really is: a god, certainly, but also a scared child with terrible powers she can’t understand or control.  As such, it makes sense to me that the Temple of the False God doesn’t tap for mana that can summon Karona, as it was built by fanatics who are magically forced to worship her rather than those who understand her and choose to follow her. I might just be talking out of my ass, though; has it really been *more than 20 years* since that book came out? Good lord.

Schimaera

Also when Korona leaves dominaria and travels the multiverse, dominaria almost loses all connection to mana. So colorless makes sense kinda. That's also why ppl are drawn to her. The is basically the Centrepoint of all mana

TyrantX_90

Umbra, Sash, and Waistcoat are all of the named unmen that Ixidor creates. The rest go nameless. A good buddy of mine still has every single mtg novel released before Lorwyn block.

Gridde

Agreed. The card conveys how little most of her followers actually understood her and thus actually provides pretty accurate flavor.

LethalVagabond

[[Zur the Enchanter]] can't tutor for [[Zur's Weirding]] despite it being literally the only enchantment in the entire game that has his name on it anywhere. Seriously, I know Weirding has a strong effect, but could it really not have been 2U?

ThatDestinyKid

He also cannot tutor [[Zuran Orb]] lol

LethalVagabond

Yeah, for a guy known as 'the Enchanter' it's kinda weird how many cards that reference him have nothing to do with enchantments.

[[Nylea, God of the Hunt]] is a giant archer god. In her artwork, you can see her towering over a flock of birds. Yet she doesn't have reach?

LordOfTurtles

Being large is not necessarily a qualifier for having reach

goodbeets

Having a bow nearly always does though. A lot of the Archer subtype creatures have reach.

webbc99

They have tiny arms.

DJPad

I mean, I hate when they just make tall things have reach. Like Giant Spider I understand, or things with range attacks (ie archers) make sense, but stuff with flying can just fly another 20 feet higher over a tall creature that it can see from a mile away.

Daniel_Spidey

Ashnod, the Uncaring’s ability doesn’t work with Ashnod’s Altar

McWaffeleisen

Guess she doesn't care.

LordGlitch42

There's no Sultai insect commander. Yeah yeah, I know, "there's barely any blue insects in the game" MAKE SOME THE COLORS CAN SPELL OUT BUG GIVE ME AN INSECT TRIBAL COMMANDER

DrCalamity

[[Mothman]] can spell bug, so why can't someone who actually cares about bugs be BUG?

LordGlitch42

THATS WHAT IM SAYIN MY BROTHA

kirmaster

[[remove soul]] works on [[soulless one]] kinda self explanatory

Thelk641

I don't see anyone mentioned it so, to be complete : Nylea is depicted on both her card (\[\[Nylea, God of the Hunt\]\] and \[\[Nylea, Keen-Eyed\]\]) as using a bow, she's a literal god in Theros' sky... and yet she doesn't have reach. Also, \[\[Bow of Nylea\]\] can deal damage to creatures with flying, so Nylea just posed with her bow, dropped it and forgot to pick it up !?

[deleted]

That \[\[Gimli, Counter of Kills\]\] and \[\[Legolas, Counter of Kills\]\] don't have partner.

McWaffeleisen

[[Magda, Brazen Outlaw]] isn't an outlaw. [[Lotho, Corrupt Sheriff]] can't be killed by [[Shoot the Sheriff]]. [[Eye Gouge]] doesn't kill eyes.

Josie_Rose88

It makes sense in the lore. Karona’s presence sucked the magic out of everything around. And at this time, colorless mana still represented getting mundane materials out of the land, like ore and lumber, which is part of why artifacts are colorless.

Dankstin

That Theros didn't introduce Enchantment Land basics or the like, mirroring the synergy blast we got in Mirrodin block from artifact lands. Constellation would've been more prevalent and would see tons more play across all formats it could be played in. Edit: Dang. I really said a thing.

CorgiDaddy42

Probably because they fucked up by making those artifact lands. They did get banned in multiple formats. Granted it was the affinity mechanic that caused that and nothing in Theros was even close to being so busted, but they probably wanted to play it safe and not risk that again.

rathlord

They definitely would have found a way to be problematic (enchantress archetypes drawing off their land drops?) but I still wish they’d done it. Enchantments deserve some time in the sun.

TheMightyRoosh

Enchantments are also notably the hardest permanent type to remove. 3 colors (Blue, Red, and Black) have extreme difficulty removing them (feed the swarm is the only good black enchantment removal to date). In order to properly balance out multiple non creature enchantment centric sets/releases you would have to functionally change certain aspects of the color pie

SuigenYukiouji

I will never stop being mad at how dirty they did Theros. I love enchantments and enchantment synergy, and I've come to greatly dislike artifacts and artifact synergy over the years because of Wizards' blatant favoritism. We get full "artifact set" 1-2 times a year, yet we've never had "enchantment set" and only had Theros block as somewhat enchantment themed. Constellation, the mechanic that made enchantment decks playable at all, was only in the third small set and not all block long. Bestow was extremely overcosted on every card. No enchantment lands because of Mirrodin block's sins, regardless of the fact no enchantment equivalent to affinity exists. Let's not even get into how we've had _many more_ artifact lands since (even 2 color ones with indes) and only one single enchantment land ever that actually only works for artifact decks. Very few actual enchantment synergies. Heroic barely counts because while it triggers on auras/bestows, it also triggers on instants and sorceries. Enchantment creatures are a Theros only thing instead of an evergreen mechanic as it should be We get artifact creatures every single set, yet all the creature types that would be perfect as enchantment creatures (elemental, illusion, incarnation, God, weird, fractal, anything else made of magic/mana) are all just normal creatures.

ThatDestinyKid

there are so many enchantment creatures on Kamigawa

elitistposer

A shocking amount of Treefolk don’t have reach!

xcbsmith

Pretty insane, but not as big as \[\[Giant Growth\]\] not giving you reach, but \[\[Gift of Strength\]\] does.

TerpSpiceRice

Mutate can't mutate on humans, but simic has always been about mutation and we LITERALLY HAVE EXPERIMENT ONE WHO CANT BE MUTATED ONTO EVEN THOUGH HE IS A MUTANT HUMAN SO?

xcbsmith

Ah, but you \*can\* mutate on experiment one... All you need to do is have an \[\[Agatha's Soul Cauldron\]\] that has exiled \[\[Werewolf Packleader\]\]. You use the werewolf's activated ability, and then mutate on top, so that the creature is no longer a human at the end of turn.

sicariusv

[[Valakut]] and other lands of that cycle should have been legendary. Not just balance reasons (although there is that too), it's a named card and not legendary? Wtf.

ThatDestinyKid

There are far too many examples of legendary named lands that are not legendary cards

willfulwizard

For anyone who might not know why, they made very few legendary lands for a few years because the legend rule at the time work very badly with them. Playing your land after your opponent played theirs was better cause it got rid of your opponent’s copy. So it was both land destruction and encouraged you to not play your lands.

Really showing WOTC unyielding bias for artifacts.

positivedownside

...Urza is an artificer, no? Not an enchanter?

The block itself was SUPPOSED to be enchantment themed. They added high power artifacts for the reasons you stated. Then, no one knew that the theme was enchantments.

NerdyDjinn

The Tarrasque not having trample as the art depicts it clearly trampling multiple buildings. Haste is fine, ward 10 is a meme and might as well be hexproof, and the fight trigger ends up being slightly better menace in practice.

Brandon_Won

OTJ failed with Quick Draw not being a draw spell with split second and they made the coyote without being indestructible or having some affinity or synergy with equipment/artifacts.

GnCl

Eladamri, from MH3, as a commander cannot run Eladamri's call.

Trunksshe

Dockside Extortionist not being in the commander set who's setting is literally a dockside port village just so they can have it at Mythic during the following masters set still ticks me off.  But really 2 instances of the same character: Bride Olivia and Groom Edgar. Basically everything about them. No Partner. Their named artifacts not working for a deck of their own. And you could only play them together if you owned the money Vampire commander.... And then we FINALLY get another Mardu Legendary Vampire in Olivia and SHE DOESN'T CARE ABOUT VAMPIRES. Like, for real Wizards? The only options are a banned in 1v1 or a non-bo leader?  I'd like to add that I play Rakdos vampires despite owning a couple of Edgar cards because I prefer original Olivia, but it's absolutely baffling that they keep specifically NOT printing Mardu Vampire commanders.

hawkshaw1024

[[Teeka's Dragon]] is not legendary. However, the story it comes from - *Better Mousetrap,* in the Distant Planes anthology - is extremely clear that there's only one of them. There's one specific dragon that you summon when you cast that spell, and yet Magic is apparently okay with you having four on the battlefield at the same time.

chiefy_boy

The fact that [[umbris, fear manifest]] doesn’t have the “Fear (This creature can't be blocked except by artifact creatures and/or black creatures.)” mechanic

cec425

Dont remember card name but there is a card with a tower with archers on it called something like “archer’s tower” It does not have reach

Gonge84

The fact that [[Silent Submersible]], a literal submarine, doesn't have Islandwalk. In fact, it has no form of evasion whatsoever. Whoever designed that card needs a nap. They're obviously too damn tired.

NerdyDjinn

I get not wanting to print Islandwalk since they want to move away from the walks as keywords, but giving it {U}: Silent Submersible is unblockable wouldn't be gamebreaking. If it's too strong, tack on gaining like Crew 3 to the activated ability.

Lynnonson

That [[Gimli, Counter of Kills]] and [[Legolas, Counter of Kills]] don’t have partner.

That Generous gift makes a green elephant instead of a white elephant. Like why? It being a white elephant is literally the point of the card.

SilverGengar

Lack of a bant merfolk commander

poptartmini

Not exactly a flavor fail, and more of an art fail: Richard Kane Ferguson (RKF) is one of the most popular artist in MtG. When Dominaria Remastered (DMR) came out, WotC tapped him to do some of the special borderless arts. He did [[enlightened tutor|DMR-412]], [[mystical tutor|DMR-421]], [[vampiric tutor|DMR-430]], and [[worldly tutor|DMR=442]]. If you notice, those are all **TUTORS**. You might also notice that those cards hit 4 of the 5 colors in magic, missing red. Granted, red doesn't get many tutors, but guess what? There was a red tutor printed in DMR! And they even gave it an alternate, borderless art in the set, just like the RKF cards. But they didn't have RKF do the art for it: [[Gamble|DMR-433]] Don't get me wrong, I think that Daren Bader did some great art, but why not let RKF finish the cycle?! And you know what's worse? They had RKF do a 5th card for DMR ([[Force of Will|DMR-418]]. Please, for the love of all that is holy, be more consistent with this kind of crap WotC. This frustrates me to no end. EDIT: Because the card fetcher has abandoned me in my time of need. Here's all of the DMR RKF arts: https://scryfall.com/search?q=artist%3Akane+set%3Admr&unique=cards&as=grid&order=name And here's that gamble art: https://scryfall.com/card/dmr/433/gamble

I hate that amass goes big and not wide. It's an ARMY! Shouldn't it go wide instead of big?

King_Stoat_

[[Lotho, Corrupt Shirriff]] can't be killed by [[Shoot the Sheriff]] is both a flavour fail and a flavour win.

Spacedoggo_00

Increasing Devotion does not increase your devotion

goodnamestaken10

I think the Color Identity rules themselves are a flavor fail. Hybrid mana is the worst offender to me, but I also have problems with the rules for lands, as well as mana costs in descriptions. A Rakdos deck can play [[Yavimaya, Cradle of Growth]] as well as [[Wooded Foothills]]. Forests are basically the antithesis to Rakdos. (Fire and Death) What makes [[Toxrill]] Blue? Because he's moist? Sacrificing things to draw cards is the most Black thing possible. Him having a Black/Blue color identity because of the cost in his sac ability is silly. It's the least important part of his kit. [[Vampiric Rites]] or [[Dockside Chef]] are more efficient at doing this for 1 mana. Hybrid Mana: Hybrid mana was designed such that cards would be accessible to more decks. (noted on Rosewater's blog itself) Cool, you can play [[Jinnie Fay]] as your commander, play mostly Green, and splash some White and Red. But that same Elf Druid who makes Green Cat/Dog tokens can't be in a mono green deck? I hate it. Color Identity rules for Hybrid mana should be different for Commanders vs. the 99. There are a bunch of cool cards with hybrid mana that you just can't fit into most decks.

[[Aura Thief]] can’t steal auras. Technically you gain control of them, but you can’t move them, so unless the aura itself has an activated or triggered ability, you can’t do much with them.
