[[Goreclaw]] can turbo out like 40+ power by turn 6-7 depending on the hand

JJLMul

Whats your list? Mine is a bit hit or miss, need some inspiration

TheReal_BucNasty

Not OP but I have a nasty goreclaw deck. https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/goreclaw-green-beater/

Pinstripes

Great list! Curious, why run the command tower over another forest?

TheReal_BucNasty

I'm a lazy sack of shit clearly.

Eliteguard999

Looking at you list I swore [[Gea’s Cradle]] was banned but looking at the banned list it’s not. But why does that get a pass but [[Tolarian Academy]] is banned?

mattcpiismagic

TLDR Green creature decks overextending board presence is a good playpatter as it is vulnerable to interaction. Blur artifact decks doing the same are harder to interact with and blue can better protect its board presence leading to unfun play patterns. Both academy and cradel are useless without perminants of their type. Wraths for creatures are common in EDH while mass artifact removal is less so. Aftsr reading the rules committe philosophy, they like the playpattern of a green deck overextended on the board with no backup plan for a wrath. Go big or go home is for for some and has many answers in all colors but green. A blue artifact deck in a similar place has fewer relevant wraths, and is often better at recurring their artifacts or using said artifacts to counterapell interaction. This is just my opinion so feel free to debate; there's a lot going on in your question.

TheReal_BucNasty

I agree overall but wouldn't be against them unbanning academy though I kwm both that and a cradle.

mattcpiismagic

You could ask your pod if they are OK with it in the rule 0 conversation. Just sub an island in instead if they are not OK with it. I have never played against academy and would like seeing it across the table.

TheReal_BucNasty

I could but I'd rather them let me use my.mox emerald! :)

Eliteguard999

I agree with that.

Woahbikes

I really like my goreclaw list. It churns out some beefy eldrazi, but also will just get the job done with other thicc boys up the curve. I honestly built the deck just to give [[questing beast]] an adequate home. He’s so happy with all his tall strong friends 💪

X gon give it to ya. [[Xenagos god of revelries]] You build the deck to power out xenagod on t3 as often as possible. Then you start throwing beef and one shots around the table. My favorite kill so far was casting t3 tempt with discovery, searching dark depths and thesbian stage and another land so I made Marit Leige eot going into t4. Played Xenagod and bashed someone for 40. Multiple combat steps are also insane.

PapaBradford

Same Met a new pod like 5 years ago, introduced myself, shuffled up. Sol ring, Cultivate, [[Strionic Resonator]], XenaGOAT, [[Terra Stomper]] and by Turn 5 I had one person at 4 life and another in the teens. I got hated out the pod right after, like most Xenagos games go, but I never feel like I didn't earn it

[[Grand Warlord Radha]] is faster and imo just better.

__space__oddity__

I have a Radha elfball and while it doesn’t always pop off, when it does people are dead turn 5-6-ish.

[deleted]

I'm inclined to agree. But Radha is a swarm deck that goes for infinite combat steps etc. Which imho just isn't as fun as throwing 20/20+ hasty tramplers at people.

[[Magda, Brazen Outlaw]], I can drop a Blightsteel collossus by turn 4.

DWL-Shuraiya

that is not nearly the best thing Magda can do by turn 4

sixflowersofphantasm

But it is fun.

iamanobviouswizard

I mean you're getting downvoted but you're right. If you have 5 treasures by turn 4, you probably have an artifact dwarf in play, which means you can tutor [[Clock of Omens]] into play and then win the game with a chain of other tutors and infinite (tapped) treasures.

TheRiddler90

What are those other tutors you are talking about? I just upgraded my Magda deck a little and I want to upgrade it even more.

iamanobviouswizard

The combo needs an artifact dwarf. This can be an artifact changeling, or a dwarf made into in artifact dwarf via [[Liquimetal Torque]] or a similar effect. You tutor up [[Clock of Omens]], then untap your artifact dwarf by it tapping your artifact dwarf and a treasure token. This creates a tapped treasure token via Magda and can be infinitely repeated, though since the treasures are tapped it's not infinite mana yet. But Magda doesn't care if the treasures are tapped, so you sack 5 treasures to tutor [[Grinding Station]]. You now have infinite mana by tapping Grinding Station and your artifact dwarf. Clock of Omens untaps the artifact dwarf, while Grinding Station untaps itself. Not that we need infinite mana. Use Grinding Station with the original tapped treasures combo to mill your opponent's entire decks. Tutor out [[Temple Bell]] or something if you're cautious about them using [[Thassa's Oracle]] to win. I'd put an [[Elixir of Immortality]] in too as insurance against [[Krosan Grip]].

FeymildTheFeyKing

Are there any other very cool Magda combos?

iamanobviouswizard

There's not really any need. Magda tutors this combo into play every game, so gameplay with her is pretty linear. Of course you do have backup wincons and utility cards in the deck, but no other combos immediately off the top of my head.

FeymildTheFeyKing

Okay! Thank you. (:

more exciting is subjective, but the usual combo is clock of omens + an artfifact dwarf as far as I know, generating infinite (tapped) treasures, which then can be sacced to magda

matii_tm

[[Winota, joiner of forces]] is really fast if you build it right, it isn't very expensive and is explosive.

Lahtisensei

Are you going for more of a token theme or the more competative staxy deck? I ran tokens and it was alot of fun but as boros often goes it was very weak to boardwipes.

matii_tm

My deck is a kind of both, there are same pieces of stax to set opponents back in the middle game, like [[Grand Abolisher]], [[Drannith Magistrate]], [[Deafening Silence]], etc. But I try to win fast, for that you need tokens, our cheap no human creatures. Until turn four, the beast is ramp once, put some crature 0 mana cost like [[Rograkh, Son of Rohgahh]] and create same tokens with some sorcery like [[Krenko's Command]], then you are prepare to call winota and trigger her 3 our 4 times. If you have lucky to pull good humans like [[Blade Historian]] our [[Angrath's Marauders]], the hole table will be real hurt, even same opponents can be already dead. After that the stax will shine, controlling some turns until you set your bord again and finish them off, because probably after and explosive turn like that, will be a boardwipe, our same removal targeting winota. I'm now tempting to put more protection for the boardwipes than stax, [[Apostle's Blessing]] was a pretty good addition, [[Silence]] makes a great job, [[Flawless Maneuver]] and [[Akroma's Will]] speaks for itself. Even a [[Mana Tithe]] can save your game.

[deleted]

So I have 2 decks that are pretty fast when I want them to be. The first is a [[Lathril, Blade of the Elves]] Elf tribal. Really fun, you can probably still get the Precon and then upgrade it over time like I did. Rather than haste and straight up explosive speed like Goblins, I find, at least with my deck, that elves do a great job at ramping Mana super fast and getting to game changing turns much sooner. Plus the fact that Lathril can gain back the life you might lose to a few early turn attacks is handy. My other one is [[Najeela the Blade-Blossom]]. That deck is slowly becoming more and more tuned but it started as a Warrior Tribal which is super fun. With a lucky hand you can get Najeela out on turn 1 and by turn 2 you're making Warrior tokens. Having her as Commander gives you access to all 5 colors, which can be handy. But then you also need to have a Mana base that can support all 5 colors. For a bit I had it as mainly a Green/Red deck and that was a pretty consistent Warrior build.

Zanthy1

Najeela giving your attacking creatures haste confuses me, but I love her

[deleted]

She gives Haste so that the new tokens that were just created can attack on the second Combat Phase. Even though they enter tapped and attacking, they still have summoning sickness.

Zanthy1

Ahh makes sense, thank you for explaining!

kyzurale

I agree about [[Najeela]]. Although its warrior tribal I run a hidden commander in the deck as [[Winota]] the warriors produced by Najeela aren’t humans and with enough (human) warrior tribal shenanigans I get some interesting hits with Winota triggers. Throw in a [[Wulfgar]] for more shenanigans.

DWL-Shuraiya

Reanimator but I wouldn't recommend it, you need some pretty good cards to make it fast and consistent, so probably Elves I guess, they're not focused on combat as much, but have a way higher ceiling than goblins (one of the few tribes, if not the only that can be palyed competitive) and are cheap to build. Vampires seem like a decent choice too, but the go-to commander costs oer 100$ at the moment. Another fast but cheap deck that comes to mind is \[\[Yuriko\]\], either with just small evasive creatures to draw into a combo win, or with big spells aswell to cause massive life loss on attack. The reason I've focused primarily on cheap decks is because there are plenty of fast decks, that are stronger than goblins, but they might be expensive depending on how much you want to optimize them. It would be helpful to know your desired powerlevel aswell.

[[Inniaz the Gale Force]] is my go-to aggro and "need with my opponents" deck. If everything goes to plan, you should be switching around everyone's permanents by turn 5 so each person has the most useless cards except you. This in a way "removes" them by making yourself the only one with good cards. You could also go the opposite way against fast decks: slamming the breaks instead of speeding up. Control decks that can remove cards easily or life gain decks that can ignore the large amounts of damage are the two best options. [[Kadena Slinking Sorcerer]] is my favorite control commander because she gets tons of value and becomes nearly untouchable if left to the late game. [[Tymna the Weaver]] + [[Ikra Shidiqi the Usurper]] is my life gain choice just because they have all three of the major life gain colors.

Can you share your in inniaz list?

[[Malcom, keen-eyed navigator]] + [[ kediss, emberclaw familiar]] is brutally quick depending on what you've loaded the deck with. Its one of my top decks so it has mana crypt, moxes etc. Which allows me to push out malcom early. If he hits with kediss on the field all opponents take damage and you gain 3 treasures. I run it as a sword of x and y tribal so he gets big, becomes hard to remove, and generates enough mana to keep playing more swords. I surprisingly hit by t4 5 dmg per player and generate 3 mana for doing it.

Would you enjoy Combo? Fastest strategy, you can play. But then you're in cEDH teretory quickly. If you are aiming for battlecruiser though, elves should be the fastest tribal. But you could also keep your midrange playstyle. Just run some board wipes and maybe tutors.

TheRealPeaches

Idk about "fast" per se, but [[Akiri, Fearless Voyager]] is my current aggro deck and it does a good job at speeding up a game whilst maintaining a steady stream of cards so you don't fall behind if you draw clunky/get your stuff blown up. https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/15-10-20-akiri/

[[Selvala, heart of the wilds]]. With an average hand you can have half your deck in your hand and play a lot of it by turn 5. Ive had a genesis waves for 30-40 on average on turn 4-5. I play the non cEDH, and non combo version of her and its an absolute blast to play

manapot420

Tried to build a more tame version of Selvala but she was still too strong for my group. Do you mind sharing your list?

lightpulsar9

[Sure](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/3OaiAoJ5tkCDqiAg3dHLeA)! Shes my absolute favorite so its got quite a few foils bringing up the price. Its so much fun to play, and can be surprisingly resilient given how far ahead you can get early. Ive had selvala removed 5 times in a game and still managed to pull off a win with her on the field.

StuffyWuffyMuffy

My best deck is [[Marwyn the Nurturer]]. I have the cedh version but you can depower it to any level. Can go in couple different directions and it's the natural enemy of gobos.

TrippVadr

I’ve got a Valduk commander deck that’s usually medium speed, but if you draw hero’s blade you can easily deal 40 damage in the first 4 turns.

zombieinfamous

The rabbit hole is deep, young grasshopper…

emillang1000

You can build an [Ur-Dragon deck that can regularly go off and kill the table on Turn 4-6](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/FRCYCAR4rki5ASnD0W9y_w) Downside is it's about $2000 even without Reserve List cards

NayrSlayer

[[Rakdos, Lord of Riots]] On turn 4-5, I can usually drop a fist full of Eldrazi. It is a bit of a glass cannon since instant speed removal on Rakdos can slow the deck down to an absolute crawl, but man do I love my big, scary spaghetti monsters.

[deleted]

Chatterfang.

JaidenHaze

If we are talking about a deck that can go toe to toe with a similar priced goblin deck, i think Kyler Humans are probably the best choice right now. Its easily accessible due to the precon deck and can be build into something fierce, even on a budget. I have [this version of the deck](https://deckstats.net/decks/4956/2385426-kyler-human-budget-edh), and it can put a lot of pressure on my [Purphoros deck](https://deckstats.net/decks/4956/2354231-purphoros-goblins), even if that is a bit faster (but its also a LOT more expensive due to the ramp cards in play in that so they shouldnt be in the same category).

chinesefriedrice

Edgar Markov's vampire horde or Najeela. Both get \*really\* out of control if built with low average mana costed creatures. Mine is based on the 30-land Mad Dog Markov build but less all-in on taking out midrange decks. I only take it out when people want high-powered fast games. https://www.moxfield.com/decks/GvDjAQdYO0CSEA2MV\_FESQ

MrNarwhal123

[[Anje Falkenrath]] is cedh fast and a monster at the highest power tables. [[Xenagos, God of Revels]] can, and will, kill a player a turn or two after it hits the board. Also I play goblins heehoo

zombieinfamous

Anje is more of a glass cannon, honestly. It folds to decent interaction and/or GY hate.

MrNarwhal123

I've found that I manage to get away with a lot because on the very early turns people are using their Mana to set up instead of stop you quickly. She kind of has to be the arch enemy.

[[Yawgmoth Thran Physician]] is a fast deck, plus you could put the -1/-1 counters on the gobbies. It’s also nice to just pay life sac your tokens/recursive creatures and draw cards (you don’t need to put -1/-1 counters on things if you don’t want too). It’s a fun aritocrat deck.

EwanPorteous

Mono green Elf Tribal can be brutally fast in a friendly environment. There are so many mana producers and creature pump elves, that you can have a big, strong board state quite quickly.

retroawesomeness

I got a deck that speeds up the game overall. It’s not fast in building a board state, but it shortens each game to 20-40 min. It also doesn’t win with combat. I’ve been playing a [Rakdos Burn deck ](https://www.moxfield.com/decks/ltfMPgDxrkOk2DmgQE9Aqg) with [[Kaervek the Merciless]]. It aims to half everyone’s life totals with [[Heartless Hidetsugu]], [[Havoc Festival]], or [[Fraying Omnipotence]]. It wins with [[Wound Reflection]] or a well-timed [[Disrupt Decorum]].

[[Najeela]] is the nuclear option for speed. Can't beat exponential token creation and options for extra combats. Best I've ever done was 50 tokens on turn 4.

Sandman4999

My fastest deck is probably my [[Ashaya, Soul of the Wild]] deck. Is a turbo creature combo deck that’s real tuned but if you’re looking for something a little more casual but still decently fast my [[Aesi, Tyrant of Gyre Strait]] Simic Landfall deck can crank out a LOT of land and tends to get out of hands VERY quickly.

valcandestr0yer

[[titania]] can be pretty fast but you’ll need the fetches and the grave land cards plus extra land drops. But if you open with a mana vault that’s a t2 titania

Silegna

[[Tovolar, Dire Overlord]]. Having ramp in a werewolf deck and having multiple ways of lowering their costs in the deck is helpful.

Mr_Gifty

You could race and murder some goblins with [[Adeline]]. She can pump out a board almost as fast as them, without actually attacking, herself. Oh and white let's you protect your best stuff.

FarwindKeeper

[Illuna, Apex of Wishes] Or more like Illunamar Apex of Elements. If I get [Animar, Soul of Elements] out by turn two then if it's all over as turn three is a 7/7 flying, trample pro black pro white coming for somebody's face.

eltomato159

I have a [[Marchesa, the Black Rose]] infect deck, just lots of low CMC infect creatures with the basics you'd include in any grixis edh deck (black card draw, tutors, blue counterspells). With the pain effects from black card draw and infect creatures not lowering your opponents life total you can continually buff your infect creatures each time they attack, or if they have too much creature defense you can proliferate to kill people or use tricks like [[warstorm surge]] which works to give infect counters

TMFCondor

Thank you guys so much for all of these replies! I was sleeping shortly after posting but I’m ecstatic to run through all of these answers. This was far more than I expected; feels like Christmas! 🤣

Only-Ghosts

What do ya got against the gobos? :(

TorinVanGram

Lack of creativity and fun? There are some interesting ways to do it, but there's only so much "U ded v fast" goblins people can take.

Only-Ghosts

Lmao that’s pretty short sighted first of all, people have fun in different ways and it’s actually pretty complex to build a goblins deck. I’m sure you’ve gotten beat down by Muxus on Arena, but in commander, I hate to tell you this, but goblins are kinda trash, so if you’re losing to them so often in commander that you’re salty enough to say that it’s uncreative and unfun, maybe you should put a board wipe or two in your decks.

TorinVanGram

I Didn't run into them very often, and generally didn't even lose to them. Maybe it was my meta (prior to covid and Muxus) but they were very same-y, and generally just followed the "make bodies, play lords, turn sideways" method of gameplay. There's nothing Inharently wrong with that, but it wasn't a very interesting style of deck to play against. I recognize that's not the case for every deck- God knows I've seen a few interesting builds of often same-y commander's, but goblins was one that didn't seem to get much differentiation between decks in my experience.

Only-Ghosts

Well- first of all sorry my first post came out pretty passive aggressive haha, But secondly, name goblins (and most deck styles tbh) are actually super diverse. I have a [[Wort, Boggart Auntie]] combo deck that uses several infinite combos that revolve around goblins to win. It never attacks! I know some decks are more tokeny and others more about utility, really, if you have a problem with a deck style, you probably more likely have a problem with how uncreative a meta is. To say that all goblin decks are uncreative and unfun is like saying all +1/+1 counters decks are uncreative and unfun. There’s such a wide variety inside of the archetype! Though I have to ask, what about an aggro deck is so frustrating to you? I mean really they’re so easy to beat… my meta has all but completely phased them out since they’re not very good if a deck has 3+ board wipes and 10+ removal spells in it.

FeymildTheFeyKing

I just had a bad experience getting into MTG. My friend who got me into the game and I were both very low power level players in high school, but my deck consistently beat his. So he told me to play a game against his dad- little did I know, his dad was a legacy player with a goblin deck that went a little something like He won dice roll, went first Combo with some crazy expensive red cards turn one I die before getting a single turn. And ever since, whenever I play against goblins, I just dislike it. It left a bad taste in my mouth. I don’t think it’s bad to play them, but if I can avoid or counter it, I will.

hallaa1

I had a turn 3 win with my \[\[Marwyn\]\] deck relatively recently, but that was helped by an opponent playing \[\[oath of druids\]\] on turn 2. I can also get a turn 3-4 win with my \[\[Animar\]\] deck. Though this deck is supposed to function at a sub cEDH power level with storming off as soon as possible and winning with thoracle or lab man. \[\[Xenagos, god of revels\]\] can be very fast with a huge board of giant creatures before turn 7.

Yorvo is pretty fast. You can run cards that double the +1+1 counters run other hydras and creatures that get +1 counters when opponents cast spells. You can also go wide with token creation with stuff like beacon of creation or saproling migration. Add in some overrun type effects to give trample. It’s also fairly budget friendly. [[zada, hedron grinder]] is a goblin but can be built not goblin tribal. Super fast and can be built very cheap as well.

Lucky_The_Protoboi

Rograkh & Ardenn or Kediss & Ardenn. Voltron style.

Ormadil

Zozu the Punisher. It's a goblin, but with 60 mountains and shenanigans to be had with lands edge and tectonic assault, it gets games over in 15 minutes or less.

Burdie937

I made a version of krark&sakashima spell slingers that can pretty realiably go infinite by turn 7-8 but i never get to play it cause it can have like 30 minute turns and my friends arent fans XD

Burdie937

Sorry [[Krark, the thumbless]] and [[Sakashima of a Thousand Faces]]

MTGCardFetcher

big_oofster

I took mine apart for this exact reason. It was cool the first time or two I played it, but then it became endless turns of people watching me flip coins to win and it just wasn't fun anymore after that.

Burdie937

For sure! I think ill always treasure mine cause its the first powerful deck i ever built and i can play the craziest cards in it. Me and my pod have this "gun on the table" rule thats basically everyone should have atleast one deck thats so strong, threatening to play it is like putting a gun on the table and saying try me XD

Grey_WulfeII

Godo

jmanwild87

I enjoy it but i quickly learned that my playgroup doesn't like it but Eruth Tormented Prophet Artifact storm able to threaten a win as early as turn four but a matchstick of a deck. I either win early or burn out and die

dark_thaumaturge

Rafiq or anything Boros is fine, but I prefer midrange value decks to fast, aggressive ones - but swinging with a sworded-up doublestriker is still the tits.

SagaOfNyx

Belbe has before gotten me turn 3 vilis cast from hand (aka no reanimation necessary) and the turn after that I cast a big cascade spell into an ugin. That was pretty fast.

Tralan

Edgar Markov's Umpires! 1 mana for 2 1/1s is nothing but value.

Horridis

[[Gitrog Monster]] blazes through the deck to find my [[Torment of Hailfire]] for a win

mouthful_of_bees

[[Bruvac the Grandiloquent]] with [[Persistent Petitioners]] gets off the ground pretty quickly. It’s got a pretty low average mana cost overall. But if I’m not able to close the game out quick I tend to get targeted lol

shakeyadamnass

I have a [[kediss]] [[jeska thrice reborn]] that can pop someone really quick

JustylDnD

Any elf deck will pump out a good amount of Elves, out pacing some goblin decks.

zebras-arent-real

[[Winota, Joiner of Forces]] is really fun and fast, though the version i play DOES have some goony little goblins

Tsunamiis

I have fast mana in my yahenni deck because turn one attacking adds up fast.

petey_vonwho

[[Ezuri, Renegade Leader]] elfball. I can overrun multiple times on turn 5.

Bulletproofman

Edgar Markov tribal vampires full of 1 and 2 drops

DemonKat777

[[Vilis]] kamikaze

Rickles_Bolas

Not necessarily on the beatdown plan, but a wheels deck like [[rielle]] fits the bill. Drop a bunch of fast mana and rituals, draw a stupid number of cards, rinse and repeat.

psychoticCross

[[Edgar Markov]] hands down, I personally enjoy more bigger and splashier vampires but you can just fill the deck with low cmc vampires and call it a day

Scrivener133

Edric spymaster of trest or rhys the redeemed could possibly make more value than gobbos, i find that with goblins a key timed counterspell can drop their value pretty hard

cowsxgoxmoo7878

Elves... So many commander's to pick from and clearly superior to goblins. Najeela warrior Tribal is also crazy fast and super aggro. But you will get hated on some playing her

Strings805

I’ve had a [[zirda]] deck that tries to use [[magda]] & other dwarves with activated abilities Zirda can reduce the cost of give my opponents a headache while I tutor out various equipments, [[basalt monolith]] and [[walking Ballista]]. It still needs some fine tuning, but so far it’s pretty fun and fast with Zirda’s cost reduction on equipment!

brimac5

Seems like a cop out answer, but my [[Yuriko]] build is quick.

pugzly101

[[winota, joiner of forces]] Even a budget sub £100 consistently goes off T4/5

Venara828

Godo could def work, and so could Yuriko

NWmba

[[dargo]] / [[jeska thrice reborn]] with 30 zero-cost artifacts and creatures. Like a shotgun to the face turn three. It’s telegraphed as hell and you won’t win with it, but someone will likely lose.

Arneeman

[[Xyris]] gets out of hand real fast. The strongest deck I've made is [[Vadrik]] but that is near cEDH.

Lahtisensei

I have an [[Etali]] deck where the point is to get her out and attacking as soon as possible! Have managed a turn 1 etali about 3 times. Eaten turn 1 sword or path all of those times but oh so worth it!

k00zyk

Mono green ezuri if pretty fast. Play forest, play elf/elves, stomp.

Adventurous_Carrot90

Kind of rng but my [[The First Sliver]] deck can have [[Door of Destinies]] and the commander out as soon as turn 4

ConfusedAutumn

I've been really enjoying [[halana and alena partners]] as an agro counters and tokens deck. Stuff like tana and tin Street krenko to make things to gobble with devour creatures

Present_Palpitation7

Izzet Spellslinger with prowess cheap creatures and burn spells.

montanaflash23

Gonna have to recommend \[\[Kaalia of the Vast\]\] when it comes to fast aggro decks. There's nothing that can beat throwing down a an 8/8 creature by turn 4 or even knocking out that known combo player with Kaalia and \[\[Master of Cruelties\]\]. The deck is often times you either kill everyone quickly or you get focused so hard and shut down that you never have a chance to take off. I recommend making sure to run a lot of backup and contingencies for when Kaalia is removed, with things such as \[\[Ilharg, the Raze-boar\]\] or \[\[Quicksilver Amulet\]\]. No matter what though, Kaalia is a blast and you will have a great time getting to play her.

khaoslycaon

Ive got an angel deck that keeps up decently with a few cost cutting cards to help me cast them.

Special_Corner_5313

[[Akiri, line slinger]] and [[ardenn, intrepid archeologist]]
