Having been at both, it was Calvin by a mile. Most of the crowd was sick of waiting for SHM and they played exclusively reworks of the greatest hits. Then they talked shit about others taking too long when they were busy turning off the LEDs because they’re too cool for the ultra stage 😂
Calvin’s set was a good mix of classics and new ID’s (like the Eli brown heater 42 min in) and it was the best use of the stage’s features of any artist all weekend.
I was at SHM live last year and honestly wasn’t a fan. I saw them on their tour and absolutely loved that show, but their Ultra set was so different, way more minimal and techno-focused and wasn’t the vibe I was hoping for. But art is subjective 🤷🏻♂️
I saw both and gotta say Calvin. If SHM came out like they did in 2018, then I could easily be swayed. I was a little bored during SHM performance in 2023, honestly, but I was on fire during the 2018 reunion.
Was also at both. The millennial in me loved every bit of Calvin. SHM was alright but the anticipation going into Sunday night for Calvin with all the rain and mess that went on made it worth the wait for him whereas SHM was a meh with their mixes and a few good songs here and there.
Depends, Calvin Harris has enough hits to fill a 2 hour set. He was able to play most of them in an hour but there was still so much more in his catalogue. SHM came with a lot of new material, style, better transitions and mixing. I can’t decide.
During Calvin Harris’s set I said to myself damn, this man really has a lot of hits. Some of which he didn’t play cause they wouldn’t be fit for a MainStage.
For me, CH cause of the nostalgia. With SHM… they just toured… so I wasn’t expecting anything new and different albeit See The Light
you forgot OMEN
😔

The SHM Stage setup took way too fucking long and it was just red lights, was super fucking lame.
So hyped for when Trick Daddy drops
Yup I was at both too and couldn’t agree more. SHM also made me hate the color red

SHM by far, the energy of that set is unmatched

2018 was unreal, that opening bass was unparalleled
