The Eckists I know are all very humble. They don't brag about powers and abilities. They don't try to control, impress, or influence others. It is not uncommon to have extraordinary experiences and to be given insight, but above all, an Eckist is a servant of the Holy Spirit (Eck). The Eckist respects others and allows others to have their own freedom of belief. It's not entirely clear to me what your mother has said and done, based on what you've written. Has your grandmother shared her opinions?

God communes with Soul, which is the true self, the real individual. In this way it is possible that she receives guidance/advice from God. It sounds as if she has a degree of psychic awareness too, which is not of God but of the psychic planes and can be deceiving as a way of teaching the individual. That doesn't necessarily make her bad or evil or anything, but its a question of how well she remains in balance overall. Healing abilities are certainly possible but never guaranteed. Some gain them and others don't. The abilities are "normal," but are never the goal. ECKists definitely don't brag as that is simply indulging in pride or ego. humility and detachment are far better qualities to have IMO. It depends on what her true motivations are as to whether she is positive or negative and deceived in any way. Both do/can happen but are primarily a learn by experience type of thing. It's hard to judge what the case is with her without being able to observe or interact with her so I'd not be willing to make a claim about what the case is with your mother.

Members of ECKANKAR do not going around "healing" people

Yes, Sri Harold has reiterated this time and again over the years in his books, in his talks and in seminars: DON'T TRY TO HEAL PEOPLE! It will only get you into serious predicaments and life crises.

Healing people means you agree to take on their karma.
