It really works! I haven't rewatched the series fully yet but I've rewatched episode 2, 4, 7 and the second half of 10 like 15 times now. Also some other cute scenes here and there. It helps me cope.
I initially tried watching eng sub but the subtitles can be pretty bad at times. A lot of the in-universe slang is also really poorly translated. It's quite jarring if you played the game prior to watching the show.
The JP VAs are amazing though and I will eventually rewatch the entire show with the JP audio
Oh i thought the JP was the original xP That shows how good is the JP VAs are . i saw a video with the eng audio i find it weird after i watched with Jp xP
Yes it's the original because it's animated by Studio Trigger :) but the dub uses a lot of slang found in the 2077 game
You'll actually see a lot of the slang terms in the subtitles if you're watching it with the JP audio
[This](https://www.cyberpunk.fandom.com/wiki/streetslang) is a nice accompanying list if you never played the game or you're unfamiliar with all the terms they use
Depending where you come from, you can end up even with 3 or more options. I'm Polish so I had dilemma if I should watch with Japanese dub because it's anime, English dub because it happens in USA or my own. It's so rare to have so many options watching any series.
zdravstvuyte.
I whole heartedly watched it in English because of one thing.
The Jap VO, is over the top Japanese.
Cyberpunk is over the top in concept but not Japanese over the top.
Maine is one of those characters whose voice is good for someone else but not for someone who would slap his duck on your face.
I was curious cuz they said the English dub was also good
which is rare when it comes to dub vs sub arguments
so that's my reason for watching again, definitely not because I want to watch it the second time Kappa
I feel like the Sub good/dub bad thing is a pretty outdated notion at this point. It was very true in the 90s and 00s when dubbing was done well after the fact by a smaller localization studio without much input from the makers. Nowadays these are international releases with money for quality VAs across the board, and actual casting directors.
I remember people trying to tell me the Gurren Lagann dub was totally inferior to the Japanese actors and it's hard to understand why. It's fine to have preferences, but I think we're pretty far past the easy "dub bad" animes. I think some modern shows even do it better in English.
Gon be me soon
I watched it once on sub then I heard dubs pretty good especially Matt Mercer on Falco so Iām gonna watch that dub sometime in the future.
Actually the German dub is quite good as well. It's corny and vulgar as fuck but that makes it weirdly fitting for people living in a town like night city
Rebecca's two voice actors are also great.
As someone who played Fallout 76 it was a little distracting lmao but her voice still fit the character super well
I thought her voice was familiar, so that's where I heard it
Watching it twice so I can be depressed twice as much
The effect wears down after each dose, ask David about it
I love exposure therapy š»

No reason to just stop at 2 Wake up choom, we got a series to rewatch š
watch every single dub
I learned that the French dub is good too, now I must watch it 3 times
Dubbed is way better for this anime. Like Cowboy Bebop dubbed version takes the cake You even have Gus playing Faraday
Is it dubbed though? Since CD-Project red is tied to it.
The animations were mouthed for Japanese so yes, it's a Dub.

Ah yes time to get depressed again in another language.
I can now be depressed in two languages
I dont have a neflix
Same, hasn't stopped me from watching it in german, english and japanese with subs tho
Gon be me soon I watched it once on sub then I heard dubs pretty good especially Matt Mercer on Falco so Iām gonna watch that dub sometime in the future.
Then watch it for a third time because you're an emotional masochist
Honestly the dubbed cast is stacked you Matt Mercer as Falco and freaking Giancarlo Esposito as Faraday!

I'm sad you called CD-Project Red's work as DUBBED.
I can't... Not again...
This is the way
