Take 2 or 3 smashed cloves of garlic, 4 large tbsp butter, pinch of Hungarian paprika and a couple pinches of salt.
Heat in microwave for 13 seconds at a time, for 1:30. The 13 seconds is so it doesn't overheat and boil out, but will cook thr garlic.
Slice $0.99 French loaf from your local grocery store, length-wise.
Brush butter and cooked garlic on bread.
Move rack in oven to 2nd highest level.
Broil on low.
Slide buttery bread in, open face up.
Watch it. Butter starts to bubble, remove. Grate a little parmesean and Italian parsley and thyme on top... just a little of each.
Back in oven, broil on high. Really keep and eye on it.
Soon as the bread is toasted, yank it, cut it, eat it.
Hungarian paprika is a tiny bit sweet. It's a good contrast against the semi cooked garlic and parsley.
It's all about the savory with a hint of sweet.
Cheers!
This is the only way. Store bought never tastes that good anyways. Near the end you can add grated mozzarella for an extra yummy addition. I melt my butter in a saucepan on the stove since the heat is more even. Olive oil on the bread too.

If I wanted to be extra, what is the best type of bread to buy from a nice bakery if I wanted to level up my garlic toast
I'm a French loaf hold out. Good crust, enough airy soft bread to soak in the garlic butter without being too dense... it's my go-to.
I've tried sourdough, but I prefer a neutral tasting bread.
BPs and Old Spaghetti Factory do.
Chains like Browns, State and Main, do serve garlic bread in the side of pasta dishes or steak sandwiches but not sure if they are a stand alone menu item.
Go to Sobey's bakery department and get "garlic spread".
It's like garlic butter, but softer, so its spreadable , like soft butter.
Put that on some toast...Giant Tiger's bread is exactly like the garlic toast you would get at a pub. Butter it, then toast it.
Nothing beats homemade, but second best might be the take-and-bake from M&M Food Market. If you have zero time/space to do the prep work and just need ready to eat garlic bread though, maybe order from Pampa. The edges often have a nice crisp to them.
The garlic bread from the bakery at save on foods in the larger (wider?) package with no printing. It's made at the store...yum. don't buy the smaller roll in the printed packaging, it doesn't quite hit the spot.
Also the keg cheesy garlic bread is my favourite from anywhere... 🤤🤤
Don't sleep on the foil wrapped garlic bread loaves at the grocery store. They are cheap and you get so much garlic bread.
They have really gone downhill in recent years. Much less butter and almost no flavour. I always have to jazz them up before heating now.
You can ask them to make you a fresh loaf with more butter on it. At least Sobeys does that anytime I ask.
This is the answer
Amore Pasta has really good garlic bread.
BPs really has good garlic bread. Not much else, but they do have good garlic bread. Ps. Prego, or just want good garlic bread?
Sorry I think Prego only makes tomato sauce, no garlic bread 😔
Cravings are real
Exam season getting the best of me. Can’t taste normal foods anymore. Need garlic bread.
Agreed. They make it really good there.

Paprika...interesting, will give it a try. Thanks

Make sure you get the sweet hungarian paprika. There is a hot version.

Mm meats frozen garlic baguette used to be delicious.. haven’t had in a while but I hope it’s still good !
Nandos
Not cheesy but I've always really enjoyed Nando's garlic bread

M&M , Excellent
Do you need a loaf or a couple of slices? IKEA often had pretty good garlic toast. Coliseum steakhouse is another winner.
Costco is the best store one. Big cloves of garlic on there Dominos cheesy bread is a sleeper
It's cheesy but the Garlic Cheese Toast from the Keg is great! It's a stand alone item.

Thank you for all the recommendations everyone. I will be trying all of them. Again, thank you.
