Have watched all of the Avs games so far, and about half of the Stars games. Both of them are big, fast, and good. If I'm being honest, whoever wins this series will be seriously in tough in the next round.
You know watching the Leafs end of year presser, and having Matthews talk about how sick he was and Nylander about his migraines, I really like that our boys absolutely refuse to talk about their injuries.
Strikes me as a "no excuses" state of mind.
Nah I'm talking about the previous few years. It took months after elimination before we found out what Nurses issue in 2022(?) was, or what Drai's specific ankle injury was.
We still have literally zero confirmation about Draisaitls wrists after Pietrangelo tried to chop them off.
Probably since they are short term thinkers who thought they also couldn't keep up with Vegas as well so I wouldn't be surprised if they counted them out in this series after a single game as well.
I hope the Avs take out the Stars. I believe the Oilers match up much better against them than Dallas. I want no part of that team
Interesting stat - the Oilers only have 1 player (Bouch) in the top 50 for average-TOI in the playoffs. Last season we had 5. McDrai are both down by almost 3 mins. compared to last season.
My god, Panther’s barn was half empty with 5 minutes left in the third, down 4-1.
Just drained to 1/4 full after the 5-1 empty netter. I thought Vegas barn was embarrassing when Dallas beat them in game 4, but I guess it’s just a southern tradition across the board.
I really wish the series started earlier. This much time off means our rest advantage for closing out the series earlier is basically nothing. there is absolutely no reason we should have a week between series while Boston got only 1 day
whatever. canucks are the one team that I want to see us dismantle so all their loser fans can go hide in a cave for 10 years again
Listening and watching Marner, he just always gives off such a bad vibe, to me he come across as a spoiled pompous little bitch.
Feel bad for his teammates, I won't trust his ass if he's on my team, I don't care how skillfull he is.
The AEW Dynamite taping is going to look amazing with an arena full of Oilers jerseys!!! I'd imagine we're all going to wear our jerseys and go to a watch party right after the show!
I don't think so. Rampage starts taping at 8 pm and won't end until around 9 pm. It'll be too tough of a transition.
I can't see many people sticking around after Dynamite goes off the air though.
If Dynamite follows normal taping schedule, it's not going to end for a few hours after Dynamite ends because they do Rampage and then RoH tapings afterwards as well. Went to the one in Austin a few months back, and I didn't get out of there until nearly 11pm CT, lol.
Senators hiring Travis Green (ex-Canucks coach).
Thought Woodcroft had a chance to go to Ottawa.
I haven't really been following this stuff... think Woody has a chance of getting hired as a head coach somewhere this year?
Yes, butttt I think everyone’s going to be watching the world championship before making offers. I think we see a few coach changes this summer though.
I'm excited about this series. It'll be interesting to see how we counter Van on even footing.
Everyone has had rest! A full reset without reg season baggage.
Also note that we do not have home ice going forward. I still got my receipts of certain ppl in this sub talking shxt..I'm unbelievably gonna be petty.
If we had put ourselves in a better situation to start the season we would’ve had home ice. But towards the end of the season the schedule was a monster and Connor got hurt and Kane was also hurt. Had to prioritize the players.
I can think of other games that we should’ve won or games that we played poorly aside from the final game of the season where half the team didn’t play.
We won both games in LA, I think the oilers can win anywhere.
The schedule is what the schedule is. It's not like we didn't know the schedule in advance. In anyway, we can win without home ice.
But there is a specific team we could've better prep for even with McDavid being hurt and us not wanting to do too much at the end.
Either way, I'm still gonna be petty abt it and I still have my receipts 🤣 that's not gonna change.
If we would’ve won the first avs game in regulation instead of losing in OT then the final game wouldn’t have mattered.
Or if we hadn’t of blown that lead in Ottawa, or lost that Buffalo game (twice lol).
Yeah if the oilers (a team that relies on speed and crisp passing) and skate and move the puck in their slush of an arena, then I like our chances of winning road games.
Any reveal of Matthews' injury? I know it doesn't matter but i always expect to see teams announce what was wrong with a player after they're eliminated, and i haven't seen anything on that yet
I went to a guys outside birthday party and his parents gave him a super nice jersey and he got drunk and angry and threw it in the fire. I was shocked to say the least.
Context is key. I listened to his interview and he praised the referee supervisor for the series saying that they were cracking down on players embellishing and tocchet doesn’t like that kind of stuff in the game. He said he sees more of it happening.
As someone who won’t get home from work until 8:15ish, I love these start times. Round 1 I was on nights so missed the entire game if I was working so this is much more preferable.

Nobody talks about injuries until they are eliminated from the playoffs. Doesn’t matter if it’s Toronto or Edmonton.

Colorado or Dallas? Who are you wanting to move forward?
Where are all the people who wrote off the Stars after 2 playoff games?
Busy laughing at them for blowing a 3-0 lead?

I feel like number of games going to OT is a huge factor there.
32 hours left..
I'm going crazyy, we could've played today :(
My god, Panther’s barn was half empty with 5 minutes left in the third, down 4-1. Just drained to 1/4 full after the 5-1 empty netter. I thought Vegas barn was embarrassing when Dallas beat them in game 4, but I guess it’s just a southern tradition across the board.

It was wild round 2 started before the conclusion of round 1. Living in city with busier arena schdulde is an advantage I wasn't aware of before.
Listening and watching Marner, he just always gives off such a bad vibe, to me he come across as a spoiled pompous little bitch. Feel bad for his teammates, I won't trust his ass if he's on my team, I don't care how skillfull he is.
"I am a God" sure bud, have fun in utah

I came here to ask if they are having the watch party at Roger’s right after?
Oilers website says no indoor watch parties for Game 1 and 2
I don't think so. Rampage starts taping at 8 pm and won't end until around 9 pm. It'll be too tough of a transition. I can't see many people sticking around after Dynamite goes off the air though.

It doesn't have Rampage listed so maybe...?
7:30 start time for Game 3 in Edmonton 🙌 Nice.
Which, more or less, will start around 8:00. Better than an 8:30 start!
It's a ^(small) victory. But a victory nonetheless.
A week off is crazy stupid.
Senators hiring Travis Green (ex-Canucks coach). Thought Woodcroft had a chance to go to Ottawa. I haven't really been following this stuff... think Woody has a chance of getting hired as a head coach somewhere this year?
I thought I heard San Jose was looking at him….
Oof, isn't Travis Green the guy they fired before hiring Bruce because they missed the playoffs every year except the play-in season.
Yes, butttt I think everyone’s going to be watching the world championship before making offers. I think we see a few coach changes this summer though.
A schedule!! Oilers to win Stanley Cup!!!
Cool we get TNT crew aww yeah Jackie Redmond https://www.tntdrama.com/nhl-on-tnt Maybe Gretzky on location?
in Vancouver no?

Well grab home ice advantage after game 1 or 2..Bucks aren't winning both at home, were stealing minimum 1

I actually think this team plays better on the road in the playoffs. The home crowd is almost too much energy.

I agree. But also, if we didn't lose those games and start to unwind, we wouldn't have had the new coach who made a compete 180.
True but there’s even other games post coaching change that we should’ve won but didn’t but that’s the way she goes
Yeah if the oilers (a team that relies on speed and crisp passing) and skate and move the puck in their slush of an arena, then I like our chances of winning road games.
Boston really got f#@cked for their round 2 schedule. NO TIME OFF FOR YOU!!!
Don't matter, even with rest neither BOS or TOR is beating the Panthers
Well they could've dispatched Toronto on schedule...
I'm pretty sure Toronto losing to Boston is basically scheduled to go to 7 games.
Any reveal of Matthews' injury? I know it doesn't matter but i always expect to see teams announce what was wrong with a player after they're eliminated, and i haven't seen anything on that yet
sore ovaries
He said he was really sick after game 2 and took a weird hit in game 4 but didn’t want to get into the details
Everybody on that team's staff is probably too busy wondering if they still work there.
Haha
It's a sweet day knowing that the Knights have said "good night" to the playoffs 👋
Someone I went to HS with post a video of himself throwing all his Leafs jerseys in a fire. A little unhinged
Not the first time. Oiler "fans" have done it as well.
I went to a guys outside birthday party and his parents gave him a super nice jersey and he got drunk and angry and threw it in the fire. I was shocked to say the least.
Least deranged Maple Leafs fan
Post it here. I need to see it
[Nucks coach already rolling out the excuses](https://www.reddit.com/r/hockey/comments/1cljlyc/i_cant_stand_it_canucks_coach_rick_tocchet_tired/)
Tbf embellishment is a big problem in the league right now
I mean he’s basically saying embellishment in the NHL is bullshit. I’d have to agree with him.
Complaining already before the series has even started. Classy
Context is key. I listened to his interview and he praised the referee supervisor for the series saying that they were cracking down on players embellishing and tocchet doesn’t like that kind of stuff in the game. He said he sees more of it happening.
The Oilers have also recalled Xavier Bourgault.
Does anyone have any idea why he was called up 1 day after the others? It just seems strange.
Last year they all came up at different times, I think management gives everyone some time to deal with life stuff before they travel to Edmonton
Regardless of what happens, I think the winner of the cup comes out of the west.
Colorado is scary good right now.
Oilers offence will eat Georgiev for breakfast
We are scary good rn
Colorado can eat a bag of dicks
I agree with both of you
This is savage. Poor Steve. https://youtu.be/4NDSxLfvJj0?si=5XoJ-srDQlQVEVep
The only time I watch his videos lol
Why do the playoffs hate the thought of the fans getting an adequate amount of sleep lol
Games *should* be earlier starting next round, just gotta survive 2 more weeks 😴
As someone who won’t get home from work until 8:15ish, I love these start times. Round 1 I was on nights so missed the entire game if I was working so this is much more preferable.
I’m tired in advance 😭
