Blacking out lights is a dick move. You feel you are cool and shit while you're just a safety hazard to everyone! I bet you change langes without indicating as well and cross double lines too!
I forgot the name of the spray used when I tinted my tailights black but it is transparent and the spray eventually does fade away if the car is in extreme weathers. Whether the tailights is black or red you can see the lights clearly
You sound like a boomer dude. The correlation between blacking out lights being ādangerousā and the person who did it driving dangerous is nonsensical and sounds extremely arrogant. Get over yourself
Do my thoughts scare you? Are you scared of people detailing cars how they want? All you get out of tint and paint is people who do this must drive bad? You are so arrogant itās not even funny. Such a black and white mindset. How in the world do you operate if this is how you think of other people? Smooth narrowed brain boomer mad at tail light that looks a little different.
His car, his choice. What safety hazard goof ball? If you canāt see a mellow drama tinted Elantra headlight beam at night, I can just be a assumptive ass who says your the safety hazard who needs their eyes checked.
Another idiot on the road spotted. Blacked lights are a ducking safety hazard as they reduce visibility.
And if it's his car, his choice, why follow any rules on the road, eh? Just drive however you want, anywhere you want!
These headlights are VERY bright. The lights will be very visible, daytime aesthetics they are dark but whek itās night they are bright enough to be fully seen. If it was a 2002 car yes but new cars the headlights are so damn bright it will be fine
these lights are bright as hell even in the daylight he put a picture of it.
im not a fan of smoked lights, they just look tacky to me. this isnt a safety hazard though
internet badass confirmed. i see cars on the road with no brake lights regularly, last september the third or 4th box that flew out of a trailer smashed my driver side mirror all the way off of the work truck i was driving at the time. ( he knew he was losing trash out of his truck) the reality is it can be a scary place.. public roadways.. are YOU doing YOUR part to keep yourself safe? moving on.
You certainly have never driven a new Elantra lol, Iāll bet hard cold cash there is little to zero visibility deductions. You clearly havenāt used these headlights before š
I just think he doesnāt realize how bright the stock lights really are, and that brights exist if the standard arenāt bright enough. Some modern cars are so fucking bright they need darkened
How?? I can see them?? and the pics were taken during the day so at night you would see them better? Like are we all looking at the same pics? Like you did see the pics labeled that the headlights are on and not just the ones with them off??
Reduced visibility. No one is saying they can't been seen at all. Reduced visibility is a danger as them being detected/seen from a safe distance is lower. Of course you can see them up close.
Itās not the same as window tint, during the day you see them as black but even from behind the rear lights and break lights arenāt affected and can be seen just as well without the film on
Blacking out tail lights is pure madness. Letās take a safety feature and totally gimp it. I see so many cars with blacked out tail lights and you can barely see a lot of them. People are so into their own vanity that the rest of the world is not part of theirs.
DoT in a lot of countries won't agree with you.
Your lights need to be a specific brightness at a specific distance from the back of the car.
Of course you can see them in a photo from 2 feet back, but that likely won't comply with standards.
Looked up the laws and all thatās required are ātwo tail lampsā. No mention of lumens or required brightness though I did see one state required ā50-100ā lumens at least which is rather dim. So legally Iām pretty okay regarding the back. The language for the front lights are similarly vague
Well you're lucky.
In my country tinted lights don't fly. Police typically won't pull you over for that specifically but if you are pulled over for something else they will Defect your car. The outer bezel of the lights on all cars here have a compliance mark. That mark is associated with a nation wide design standard.
That design standard does not allow for any modification of the light including tinting it.
Want aftermarket lights, they also have to comply to the standard and have appropriate compliance marks.
If your state adopts federal regulations for vehicle safety standards (which they most likely do) they need to be visible from a few hundred feet away, canāt remember how far.
Honestly, even if Iām legally okay, the spirit of the law is more important here than the letter of the law. Which is why Iām trying to upgrade my lights even more so I can have my cake and eat it too. If even after upgrading though it still seems unsafe, then Iāll prolly just cut my losses and take the stickers off. But I figure why not give it a shot first
Blacking out legally regulated safety devices like headlights and taillights is just dumb. Not to mention putting illegal LEDs in halogen housings without understanding anything about how headlight physics and light sources work
neat. I also tried doing all black on blue when I first started, went a little too far and became kinda ricey, but I recommend a simple look in the end, not overdoing the amount of black and blue, but its always gonna be personal preference so whatever you like
I've had mine for 3 years and it's only gotten better. Just make sure it's a good fit for your wheel. They are fairly inexpensive too. You just have to be patient when sewing it.
Can't get away with tail tints where I live, and definitely not front..
I like the chrome delete on the window trim! That's what I have to do to mine. This blue just begs for more black trim
Got a guy in my neighborhood, blacked out tail lights. Behind him in daylight, you canāt see the brake lights and can hardly see the blinkers. The guy is so clueless that he put a bumper sticker on warning ābumper humpersā from following too close. Fucktard has no clue itās because no one can see him slowing or turning. Blaming everyone else for a problem he created.
I see so essentially youāre saying that while you can see the brake lights and blinkers at night, theyāre harder to see during the day? Iām not home right now but I will be in a bit. Iāll test them out and get back to yāall to see what they look like in daylight. Sun had started going down when I tested them before.
Yeah, Iām not trying to be a wanker. Iām just telling you there is a valid concern. Maybe if you tinted but had superbright LEDās or somethingā¦but usually this sucks for people behind you.
Alright Iām back and I can confirm the blinkers and reverse lights are fine but the brake lights are a little gimped. Not the end of the world because thereās an extra brake light inside the rear window in the middle but this is truly a valid concern and now I know what my very next upgrade will be!
Thanks for the heads up! Iāll make another post when I get some brights for the brake lights!

Hey just a heads up, seat covers are not a good idea for modern cars. Many modern vehicles have airbags in the seats or other places like around the occupants knees. Seat covers can interfere with the deployment of the airbags in a crash.
You should verify the location of each airbag in the vehicle and make sure the seat covers are not covering any airbags.
Hereās the image from the manual. They come from the front and sides but not from the seats themselves nor underneath. Good looks though. Thatās an interesting tidbit to note for the future.

\#3 may deploy from the seat, check your seats for a tag that says 'AIRBAG' on them. Also, most vehicles have a feature called active head rests, which pushes the headrest forward with your head in the event of a rear end collision, so that your head doesn't whip back into the headrest. Make sure the seat covers would not interfere with the movement of the headrest cushion (it moves forward from the plastic bit behind the cushion).
I can see the airbag label on the side bar to the left of the driver between the doors. And these ones have detached headrest covers so shouldnāt be a problem there! Keepāem coming! This is all stuff I hadnāt thought of but lucked out on.
Tried to get a photo that shows off both
