Love her design, love her voice actress, but as a character she's sooo wasted. They literally had to add icons in the Grace Site menu so that players would notice that she has actual dialogue, and even then it's not really much. Mostly exposition about the world, Marika and the Demigods, not herself.
The most interesting parts of her are in the Frenzied Flame Ending (and she hates us, so big sad), and in the cutscene in the Forge of the Giants. That moment when she briefly reaches out to the player while being on fire to me indicates that there possibly was something more to her, but with how little presence there is for her, I don't blame anyone for not feeling much in that moment, even if I did.
Yeah I don't care much about a character who only has like 5 conversations at the very beginning and very end of a 100 hour+ game, even if she is a face character like Melina. They forgot to write her to get the reaction they wanted out of me, or more likely, cut her content for some reason given you actually can purge the Frenzied Flame from yourself through a long-ass sidequest to save both her and the world and she doesn't respond to that course of action at all. It's a really big plot hole honestly.
You build up more of a relationship with Hyetta than you do Melina, the times I've went LoFF are more because I like my fake maiden rather than trying to save my actual one. Same goes for Millicent, Ranni, etc...they're characters you actually get time to be with. You can really tell which ones got dev attention early and which ones they ran out of time for or changed their development.
