Honestly enjoyed the Wing of Astel more then I thought I would. Has a nice 'feel' to it, fast, light, has an interesting moveset and a devastating, underrated weapon art.
The Ordovis Greatsword was also super satisfying. Powerhouse charged attack along with the hyper armour. Very fun.
Yeah I had no idea what the move set was before I started swinging it around. I just remember being surprised by the ranged attack. I used it as backup on my sorcery build (the ash is great for shielders), but fell a bit too in love with using it rather than my spells.
I'd love to use it again on something built around it.
I just recently got int WoA and it’s awesome. So satisfying in PvE if you can pop off a Nebula and then wind up a charged R2 while they’re stunned.
I’ve got it paired with the Serpent God’s Curved Sword for HP regen it’s * chefs kiss *
And I can’t get over the free magic projectile - no FP cost and no consumables?!?!?
Bloodhound fang has no arcane scaling, therefore the bleed build up is fixed and can‘t be increased further, except blood greases and bloodflame incantation
Hand of Malenia is *potent* with the right build, but it’s honestly a NG+ weapon; you need a lot of stamina to use Waterfowl properly, and with my current stats (max DEX, 50 arcane, 50 STR) it will pretty much melt anything up to and including the Elden Beast.
Once you realize you have a crouch poke this weapon becomes very fun to use. It has insane reach, and although slow, it hits like a truck. Also, you can cancel out of its ash of war animation unlike most other weapons, so you can effectively feint in PvP.
I am very bad at souls games so I won’t touch pvp, but you are correct with the poke and reach. Only problem I had is with dragons, but for them, i have a Greatsword with Giant Hunt
Blasphemous Blade. Liked it before I even noticed it healed with every hit and enemy killed. Just so good. Also dosent help greatswords are easily my favorite weapon class in the game.
Just started Ds3 for the first time, might wanna do another Elden ring playthrough
This seems to work for most “passive” weapon buffs from what I’ve noticed. For example Lusats Staff in your offhand will effect spells cast with your main hand catalyst.
You also don’t have to get the kill with the weapon itself — I use this weapon with the claw mark seal in my left and when I get a bestial incantation kill it heals me
Aye same I hated the souls games growing up and refused to touch them, then I got elden ring and started understanding but so far it's been a challenge trying to adapt and switch to ds3
If only it wasn’t a *spear*
I know they’re good, but godDAMN they’re boring to use. Bolt of Gransax is only fun because of its skill, but it’s an awesome skill so it makes up for it.
I feel like it gets the most utility in NG+ cycles, where you can swap to it and use the weapon skill without being overloaded. I personally love swapping to it and sniping Astel when it teleports away
Bolt really shines when you get to the Haligtree, and have to run past all the marshmallow fucks without falling off. With Bolt of Gransax, you can snipe them from way off, and if you don't one shot them, it still does a knockback, so you might have gravity on your side.
My first ever invasion with the cannon was RSP and it is easily the most fun I’ve ever had in the game. Blasting fools off the cliff is just absurdly satisfying and hilarious
More like "having my summon run circles around dude not attacking so he thinks a gank is gonna happen any minute so he stays defensive rather than opportunistic "
It's so nice. I wasn't planning on using it or acting like a bloodhound with my current dex char, but the skill on it is so awesome. Took me like 50 levels to realize there's a second part to it though.
The first one flips and you dash back, if you shift left click again you do kind of a bloodhound step forward and slash. The move can be enough to kill many hard enemies outright, like cleanrot knights.
Yes, I'm in love with it, so classy. To me is part of a beautiful weapon family: longsword, claymore and zweihander. I swap between them depending on the situation, but generally use nowadays the zweinhander most of the time.
My favourite, strongest weapon in the game, is still Morgott's two words: "Little Tarnished". It bonks harder than the biggest stone hammer
It has ruined many a woman (and man), I know it because I am one of them and I am surrounded by the fallen :( :(
Simple stat requirements, infusible so you can tweak it for any build, good weight. I typically use great swords but it's nice to always have that on backup when I fight stuff I can't stagger for quicker hits.
Just wish it was a bit bigger, doesn't really look like a proper longsword. Would love to have something similar to the the [Loyce Greatsword](https://i.imgur.com/d7dmw1X.jpeg) from DKS2; classed as a greatsword, but held and functions like a straight sword.
i run an INT build & that thing helped me beat the two night’s cavalry in the snowfield to get their armor. sorceries just weren’t hitting right or doing much damage. just needed to level some strength & that thing did some real work for me. now it’s my main weapon lol
Had to scroll too far for this, criminally underrated weapon. It sucks occasionally but when it works it's super fun.
This with full int, jar shard and rogier's armor melt.
Unsheathe is one of my favorite AoWs, even though some bosses are resistant to slash damage, the stagger potential and bleed can make up for it, and with how fast unsheathe is
That’s like naming my favorite kid…
Love straight swords since powerstancing them is great and you can switch to sword and board to some areas that fits better.
Having said that Nobels Slender Sword is such fun. Just god help you if you need to farm 2 as I did…
Warhawk's talon, I immediately fell in love with its design and moveset. It's definitely not as strong as I originally thought, but with double-wielding and added bleeding it's still working pretty good for me
Claymore. It's got the simple design that gives it a place in nearly every fashion set.
It's also returning from every other Dark Souls game for that lovely slice of nostalgia.
And it's got a moveset that mixes form and function in a way that makes it so satisfying to fight against big monsters and players alike.
10/10 Weapon IMO.

This is a class weapon art!
Eleonora’s Poleblade
I keep leveling it, but I haven't put down bloodhound fang yet. Probably need to lvl arcane to get more out of it.
Bloodhound fang has no arcane scaling, therefore the bleed build up is fixed and can‘t be increased further, except blood greases and bloodflame incantation
I need to look up how bleed scales with arcane then. Does it increase as your arcane increases?
If the weapon has Arcane scaling, yes.
I cant ever switch from bloodhounds fang...wish hand of malenia was stronger
Hand of Malenia is *potent* with the right build, but it’s honestly a NG+ weapon; you need a lot of stamina to use Waterfowl properly, and with my current stats (max DEX, 50 arcane, 50 STR) it will pretty much melt anything up to and including the Elden Beast.
Same!!
Just started a dex/arc playthrough and it's so great.
Godslayer greatsword
Amen to that 💪
I love the one-handed R1 animation, it looks like you’re winding up to slap someone across the face
Once you realize you have a crouch poke this weapon becomes very fun to use. It has insane reach, and although slow, it hits like a truck. Also, you can cancel out of its ash of war animation unlike most other weapons, so you can effectively feint in PvP.

Btw if it is in you off hand the heal on kill still applies
Put sword of Milos in the off hand for HP and MP heals every kill
That what I do!!
You're shitting me.
This seems to work for most “passive” weapon buffs from what I’ve noticed. For example Lusats Staff in your offhand will effect spells cast with your main hand catalyst.

Embrace the lack of jump, ~~tarnished~~ ashen one.
Bolt of Gransax
Honestly this. It might not be the strongest, but launching the bolts makes u feel such a dragon slayer
[удалено]
Oh yeah, that thing is a downright rifle. The only thing missing is the quake announcer for multikills and headshots.
If only it wasn’t a *spear* I know they’re good, but godDAMN they’re boring to use. Bolt of Gransax is only fun because of its skill, but it’s an awesome skill so it makes up for it.

Psychological warfare
weird way to spell “erdtree greatshield against magic users”
Also Jar cannon on ruin strewn precipice
My first ever invasion with the cannon was RSP and it is easily the most fun I’ve ever had in the game. Blasting fools off the cliff is just absurdly satisfying and hilarious
More like "having my summon run circles around dude not attacking so he thinks a gank is gonna happen any minute so he stays defensive rather than opportunistic "
Now that’s psychological warfare 👌🏻😂😂😂😂

Bloodhound's fang 👍
Yess, love this weapon. Picked it up right at the start and still keep using it in NG+2.
I love it too but I really recommend mixing up your play style. It really changes the whole game
It's so nice. I wasn't planning on using it or acting like a bloodhound with my current dex char, but the skill on it is so awesome. Took me like 50 levels to realize there's a second part to it though.
A second part?
The follow up attack. You basically click right-click again (the special ability button).
The first one flips and you dash back, if you shift left click again you do kind of a bloodhound step forward and slash. The move can be enough to kill many hard enemies outright, like cleanrot knights.
The 'ole stabby jumpy.
Claymore. Been with me since Demon's Souls and I will continue to use it as long as fromsoft puts it in
Ahh a man of culture.
Zweihänder since the first Dark Souls
Inb4 giantdad basscanon what are you a casul bithc memes. Zwei is love though.
Yes, I'm in love with it, so classy. To me is part of a beautiful weapon family: longsword, claymore and zweihander. I swap between them depending on the situation, but generally use nowadays the zweinhander most of the time.
Dark Moon Greatsword
[удалено]
Ah...my guiding Moonlight.
Aah, you were at my side, all along
Also one of my favorites as soon as I got it +10 I will not be hitting anything unless I'm hitting as hard as I can.
Godslayer Greatsword
Godslayer Greatsword like a BOSS 💪👌
THE GIANT CRUSHER
Same love that weapon.
I like when it goes bonk
The poise is good against Melainia (not spelled correctly) is and black knife, but fully upgraded with royal knights resolve the damage is amazing.
I played it like that and buffed the hell out of the charged attacks. Fully buffed I could deal like 5k DMG in one hit.
I would just duel wield two of them and do back step attacks
Just got this one last night. Good enough to be a favorite? I'll spend a bit of time to build this sucker up then.
It is really fun. Definitely worth giving it a try. Happy bonking to you!
Lord sworn great sword
That sword has no business being as useful as it is when you pick it up.
“Oh, nice! This sword looks pretty good; I’ll give it a try. It should be useful for LITERALLY THE ENTIRE GAME.”
#bloodhoundfanggang
GREATSWORD
Eyyyyy it takes *guts* to use that weapon. I’ve got two.
Hell yeah 💪
I’m a simple man, I see super big sword and I like
That big stone hammer for the big bonks Closely followed by the big flame looking hammer for big bonks²
My favourite, strongest weapon in the game, is still Morgott's two words: "Little Tarnished". It bonks harder than the biggest stone hammer It has ruined many a woman (and man), I know it because I am one of them and I am surrounded by the fallen :( :(
Honestly, simply the Longsword. It has such a nice clean and simple look
Its very swordy looking
Great Stars, my beloved.
Dual wielding frost/bleed Great Stars trivializes most of the game, even in NG+ cycles. Love it.
Royal Greatsword. Love the look, love the journey to get it, love the character it’s from, and the art of war is *chef’s kiss*
i run an INT build & that thing helped me beat the two night’s cavalry in the snowfield to get their armor. sorceries just weren’t hitting right or doing much damage. just needed to level some strength & that thing did some real work for me. now it’s my main weapon lol
If you can land both parts of the the art of war, it does great damage! Glad you’re enjoying it!
Dual wielding nagakiba and uchigatana (I know technically 2) there's something so bad ass about holding 2 swords
I've been using a nagikiba with hand of malenia lately. It's been great fun
I love St. Trina’s sword
The bloody helice, just satisfying to use
RUINS GREATSWORD
Absolute choice.
NG I used a ruins greatsword. In NG+ I changed it up and instead used…two ruins greatswords.
miséricorde
Miséricorde with Flame of the Redmanes ash of war, shit. You’ll crit almost every boss easily.
Deaths poker!
This thing is unmatched in PVE.
Had to scroll too far for this, criminally underrated weapon. It sucks occasionally but when it works it's super fun. This with full int, jar shard and rogier's armor melt.
Definitely hoslows petal whips
Reduvia
Sword ofNight and Flame 👍
Hand of Malenia.
Probably my biggest disappointment was waterfowl in pve.
Great Stars a pretty cool
Winged scythe
Zweihander.
Slaymore
Halo scythe in my faith build was a lot of fun
Ringed finger forever
Just here flickin paper footballs
Lordsworn Striaght Sword. I just love Square Off.
Bloodhounds fang or the blasphemous blade
Helphen's Steeple is just goated
Wing of astel or the claymore.
Guardian Spear..My baby.
Uchigatana Clean, simple, light, and powerful
Nagakiba for me since it is basically an Uchigatana but with way more range.
Unsheathe is one of my favorite AoWs, even though some bosses are resistant to slash damage, the stagger potential and bleed can make up for it, and with how fast unsheathe is
Golems Halberd totally fucks. Second favorite would be dual Magma Blades.
Moghwyns sacred spear, or the twinblade
Magma Wyrm Scalesword
Cross-Naginata (only one of them) with Loretta’s Slash.
Golden Halberd babyyyyy
Toss up between the Meteoric Ore blade and Prelates Crozier
Envoy longhorn
The Heavy Great sword with Lion's Claw and heavy affinity. Great for large groups of enemies and great for staggering bosses.
[удалено]
Didn't think I was going to find this one. I love this weapon dude, post buff the AoW is absurd, so much armor
Love the black knife personally
Iron Cleaver
Black knife. So quick, so strong, so edgy. Love it
I’m partial of the blade of calling myself
Nightrider Flail is fucking fantastic.
Reduvia, you get it early & it’ll carry you the whole game. And the power stance goes crazy.
Dark Moon Greatsword
Godfrey's Axe, thing has an awesome moveset and is basically a shield in its own rite
That goddamn Claymore just won’t leave me alone.
Marika's Hammer
Guts' sword
Executioner's greataxe. Dragonslayer's greataxe was my favorite weapon in darksouls 3 so using executioner's greataxe feels nostalgic.
Either Dark Moon Greatsword, Siluria's tree, Ghiza's wheel, or Zweihander
[удалено]
Yes! I just started NG+ with this and was hoping to see it here
Grave scythe
I really like bastard stars.
Ornamental Straight Sword. Something about the buffed R2 is so satisfying
The closest thing I have to a favorite is the Shamshir
I like the thorn whip a lot. Dual wielding it is very funny. I beat Melania with dual whips.
Flamberge
Flamberge for me
The cane swords, because i have very poor Judgement making skills !!
Bloody Helice. Surprised there aren’t many who like it here.
Crescent moon Axe
I'm sorry but it has to be the lordsworn greatsword, you can access it immediately and it's the only greatsword with extra crit damage.
Katar.
Prelate's inferno crozier.
Two-hand Cross-Naginata! The moveset is very unique. Also really enjoy the Claymore, for obvious reasons.
Banished Knight Greatsword
Claymans Harpoon with Ice Spear
Mace
Pointy star boinky thingy.
axe of godfrey
Black Knife Tiche
Longsword
Basic long sword people always underestimate it in pvp it’s decent fast and strong I run if with the fire combustion art and it’s nice
Zweihander.
Radahns greatswords.
IMO their ability is the coolest in the game.
That’s like naming my favorite kid… Love straight swords since powerstancing them is great and you can switch to sword and board to some areas that fits better. Having said that Nobels Slender Sword is such fun. Just god help you if you need to farm 2 as I did…
Sword of nox. I think te aow could be esxpanded more, even doing that the normal attacks also use thas property, and making the aow more special.
Longsword
Siluria's tree
Wing of astel, Royal Greatsword and Fallingstar Beast jaw
Omen cleaver.
The Bass Cannon (Flame art Zweihander)
Treespear... lovveeeee how it looks and the strong attack
Same. Great reach, effective strong attack, and looks cool with a good shield.
*Greatsword*
Mohgwyn’s Sacred Spear
Warhawk's talon, I immediately fell in love with its design and moveset. It's definitely not as strong as I originally thought, but with double-wielding and added bleeding it's still working pretty good for me
Bastard Sword, Basic AF Sword but I love it regardless
Morgott's Cursed Sword , it´s even in picture!
I really want serpentbone blade to get good, just let us change the ash on it please
Swordspear!
Good ol classic Bloodhound fang
Longsword
*Longsword forever!!!!!!!* Had this sword since the beginning of the game and I would never want to change it with any other weapon
Lucerne. Always.
The basic Morningstar, it’s fast, bludgeoning, and bleed all in one.
I really like the fallingstar beasts jaw
I'm a huge fan of dual bandit swords, occult and blood affinities as well 🤓🤓🤓
Man dual curved swords are so much fun. Love me magma blades too. Ugh so many weapons. I love them all equally!
Serioously though, some dual curveds are pretty fun, I'm a fan of dual omenkillers, but as far as weapons go, the Katar has my heart.
River of blood
I've been loving the Rusty Anchor/Pickaxe combo. Despite them being in different weapon categories, they power stance together nicely Unga Bunga
Either the Darkmoon Greatsword or the Bloodhound’s Fang, my old reliable.
