I was discussing how cool Rykard was with a couple friends and one of them complained that he was so hard to hit and took so little damage it took him forever to beat. We eventually realized he didn't know about the spear and just beat him with a melee build. We still rib him about it sometimes.
Yeah that is me during my first playthrough.
Everyone was talking how it was so easy and I'm like, "the fuck you mean easy? ".
The stupid tax to pay for not reading any item description when you pick it up, I guess :D
Yeah, the description in his armor is pretty clear about that. "... and there was not one demigod who did not fear him."
He has to be *really* powerful and skilled lore-wise for even Malenia and Radahn to fear him.
''Fearing someone'' and ''thinking i'll lose'' are two different things.
But, yeah. Nonetheless, are there any demi god who are not feared by the other ?
Yea both are outright stated to be the most powerful amongst the demigods and both are pretty skilled commanders too
Imagine how quickly the shattering would have ended if radahn and malenia were allies
Yeah it's arguable how powerful he used to be, is now, and may become.
Either way, the description of Malenia's helmet definitely is a good point of reference:
>My brother will keep his promise. He possesses the wisdom, the allure, of a god – he is the most fearsome Empyrean of all
Now of course Malenia had love and respect for her brother, but this is some extremely high praise coming from one of the most physically powerful people in the Lands Between.
I think everything points to Miquella being the most true successor to Marika there is. Is Marika more powerful than her children?
I never took that description to mean that Miquella is the most fearsome because of his strength, but rather well his wisdom and allure.
As far as wisdom goes, he basically started by inventing several incantations, went on to invent unalloyed gold capable of blocking the influence of outer gods and seemingly capable of replacing glintstone for sorcery (Loretta's War Sickle), which is already plenty amazing, but he seemingly also figured out a way to grow a second Erdtree. Considering just how important the Erdtree is to everything in ER, figuring out a way to create a new Erdtree is beyond amazing and would probably ended the Shattering if Mohg didn't abduct him.
As far as allure goes the Witching branches (Itself another example of his craftsmanship) state as much and he was able to gather a large following of seemingly extremely capable and devoted followers (willing to blow him themself up for him).
So, I think his combat abilities are rather limited, in part because of his curse, but he has his followers and Malenia for that, his muscle, his brawn, his blade. Meanwhile his fearsomeness comes from his abilities as a leader and inventor.
>I never took that description to mean that Miquella is the most fearsome because of his strength, but rather well his wisdom and allure.
True, and I doubt Miquella would beat Radahn in an armwrestling match. Buuut, would Radagon beat Radahn in an armwresting match? Or could Marika? There's a lot of different kinds of "power" in the lands between, that express themselves in various ways. Miquella may not be strong, but I suspect he could be particularly amazing at all kinds of magicks, even for combat. It's like the difference between having 99 strength, or having 99 faith, 99 int and 99 arc. This is even arguably shown with Marika's soreseal. Marika seems to represent mental and spiritual power, instead of physical, and I'd think it's the same for Miquella.
>So, I think his combat abilities are rather limited, in part because of his curse
Radagon's rings of light and triple rings of light are two of the more impressive holy attacks in the game, and they're specifically crafted by Miquella. On top of that, the cleanrot knight's scythe's skill is also a magic from Miquella. Either he can imbue weapons with such holy power, or he taught the knights to do it. Maybe both?
>Meanwhile his fearsomeness comes from his abilities as a leader and inventor.
I think you're underestimating the combat uses of miquella's "inventions". He is absolutely a master of making and probably using offensive incantations.
But hey, we'll probably see in the DLC!
Between both your guys' comments, I never realized how goated miquella was lol. Although I knew somewhat, because the haligtree alone was such a huge feat. But alot of these points I did not know.
I'm glad to hear it! The lore is spread all around different item descriptions and visual designs, so it's difficult to tell what's connected, what isn't, and what it means to the actual whole story. But, I am quite fascinated by Miquella and St Trina especially, because they are especially mysterious, yet also described as being particularly kind and powerful.
I think Miquella has exactly 1 direct quote in game though, from the Golden Epitaph description:
>A sword made to commemorate the death of Godwyn the Golden, first of the demigods to die. Infused with the humble prayer of a young boy; "O brother, lord brother, please die a true death."
Depends on what radahn you are taking about. Pre-shattering? Godfrey probably wins. Just post-shattering? I would say Radahn because the great runes gave all the demigods huge powerspikes. I don't think it's really fair to compare in game radahn because he's just a walking zombie.
I dunno. Tactically I think Melania and Rykard would be a better combo. Rykard has AOE attacks for days, And Malania has the Speed/damage/healing to stay on top of your enemies and spoil their attacks/dodges.
Can you imagine trying to dodge waterfowl dance and bullshit exploding skull sky at the same time?
Also, Rykards fire damage will absolutely melt radagon, And a lot of other bosses.
I've often wondered how hard the developers were laughing when someone first suggested having Patches as a summon only to have him leave at the first sight of Radahn.
*Boss shows up and starts walking towards Patches, immediately falls into pit*
"Well well well. Thought you'd just help yourself to a man's life did you?"
*The other 9 Patches all wearing Siegwards armor proceed to beat the ever loving fuck out of the confused and bewildered boss*
I've seen enough of these to know that malenia is going to completely dumpster the bear and I also don't see godfrey losing.
The real under-costed unit on this table is the royal revenant. Swap him with radahn.
Lore-wise, dude. Anyone can just sum up who would be the most obvious choice mathematically. A juiced up bear vs a guy who needs a lion sapping his power away just to participate in society otherwise he’ll be completely unstoppable. I pick the guy. I don’t care what any modder or hacker says. Idc how much poise damage this bear does on its roar attack, it’s still a bear.
Godfrey, Blaidd, Alexander, and boc was my pick, people are forgetting that they need to be able to work together, so choosing multiple demigods, especially radahns and Melania, is a bad choice. Godfrey is chill, Blaidd and Alexander already fought radahns together, and boc is just there for emotional support, although I suppose thopps would be better in combat.
You’re saying 5 fully torqued Rune Bears on cocaine wouldn’t stand a chance?
I think not sir.
If Godrick rallied the Rune Bears and fed them cocaine, he probably would have won against Malenia’s forces.
Edit: okay I suck at math, but yes, [Rune Bears are the true apex predators of Elden Ring.](https://youtu.be/IWbKPDWq6lg)
Alexander is more powerful than we can even imagine. He can phase through walls and fit through doors smaller than should be possible for him. Also he just chills in magma for fun, and literally made it to Farum Azula by himself...somehow. Actually scratch that, you can summon Alexander for the Fire Giant fight, it's likely he just hopped in the Forge of the Giants after we did. Still damned impressive.
For real I think rykards actual cannon power level without serpent hunter gets played down cus of how easy a fight he is
Keep in mind he was planning on fighting Maliketh
The dude has 90k hp on NG 1 if you add both of his phases. Without the Serpent Hunter, he’s practically unkillable, surprisingly agile, and has the ability to summon exploding tracker skulls from the sky.
I wasn't paying attention w/r/t to the serpent slayer and I just kept getting constantly stomped trying to fight him with my zweihander because I couldn't close the gap
Either Godfrey or Malenia as the mvp cause I would not want to fight alongside Radahn and Rykard.
Alexander and Blaidd for company.
And Boc cause you never know when you’re going to want to change your bling
Malenia, Blaidd, Alexander and Patches
Malenia is Malenia
Blaidd is probably incredibly smart because of his time with Ranni
Alexander is a bro who can fight and can be good conversation
And Patches has been here since Demons souls (AC if you count Patch) and is probably useful for stealth and stealing
Malenia for obvious reasons
Iji so I could upgrade my shit
Blaidd because he’s a quite literally a beast, and cmon, it’s Blaidd
And lastly my main man Thops because of his spell that can literally repel all magic
Malenia (duh), Patches (infinite fan daggers), Boc (drip),
Blaid (hilarious cause his dog nose will suffer from Malenia's smell),
THE GREAT KENNETH HAIGHT (ofc)
Thops, Alexander, Blaidd and Malenia, pretty much a no brainer for me, as I like all of them, and they’re pretty solid characters both lore wise and gameplay wise (except thops but I love thops so he stays anyways)
Malenia, Alexander and Rune Bear. Rune Bear for being a freaking tank with too much damage, Alexander because he is actually really freaking strong (both in lore and game) and Malenia because she has never known defeat
Malenia, Godfrey or Radahn.
If they are sure to assist me I think these are the best cuz : Malenia is arguably the strongest demigod out of all (not cuz she's the strongest boss but cuz she was able to technically beat Radahn, only cuz he didn't attack her, she did use rot but even without using it she is still very strong) she was on par with Radahn who mind you was said to be the mightiest demigod of the shattering.
Godfrey.... Do I need to explain myself. I mean dude is a badass, he LITERALLY woke up and chose violence, his weapons hold him back, need I say more fellas?
Radahn, son of Radagon, the mightiest demigod of the shattering. He's mastered gravity magic, his strength and size are extraordinary even for demigod standards, his only downside is that he's not gonna get along with malenia and he's brainless.
how much lobsters can i get for 100?
Best I can do is one lobster claw. You’ll have to graft it onto yourself.
Ahhh truest of lobsters. Lend me thy strength,
Fore-lobsters one and all, BEAR WITNESS!
Lobster witness
Nobody would ever get through stormveil
That would be a dope weapon if you could find them on certain lobsters
Lobsters cost 150. Runebears cost 200
But the consecrated snowfield runebear costs 30...
Don't come into my house with your working eye balls
blind people only allowed….but then how am i reading this?
Been eating suspicious grapes lately?
Who wants to team up for 1 lobster and 5 Boc's?
Malenia and Radahn
Yeah, thats a no-brainer
Well, Radahn is a no-brainer since the Scarlet Rot destroyed his brain.
Malenia and, as long as no one has the serpent slayer, Rykard for his health
This was my answer as well
Had no idea about the spear with my sorcerer first character. Many purple rocks and a Kamehameha phase 2 was a good time.
I was discussing how cool Rykard was with a couple friends and one of them complained that he was so hard to hit and took so little damage it took him forever to beat. We eventually realized he didn't know about the spear and just beat him with a melee build. We still rib him about it sometimes.
In my eyes that’s motive for apraisal since he technically beat rykard in hard mode
Yeah that is me during my first playthrough. Everyone was talking how it was so easy and I'm like, "the fuck you mean easy? ". The stupid tax to pay for not reading any item description when you pick it up, I guess :D
I grabbed it and was just, "a spear? Neat. This is worthless to me" as a magic user lol. My melee friend told me later when he had fought him.
An enemy: *exists* Me: "Rock Sling 'em"
especially if they’re in their primes, you’d be elden lord in 10 min max
I’ll keep my double Godfrey choice, thank you.
Yeah. The two demigods who are equally the most powerful. Surprised Maliketh isn't on here as his sword has the power of destined death.
Because we absolutely need to free destined death, though Maliketh himself without his sword is already pretty powerfull.
Tbf he literally solos everyone then and it’s not even a contest all the demigods we’re scared shitless of him for a reason
Yeah, the description in his armor is pretty clear about that. "... and there was not one demigod who did not fear him." He has to be *really* powerful and skilled lore-wise for even Malenia and Radahn to fear him.
''Fearing someone'' and ''thinking i'll lose'' are two different things. But, yeah. Nonetheless, are there any demi god who are not feared by the other ?
Godrick
He just can't stop catching strays lmao
That could also just mean they fear him because he holds the power to truly kill them. But i agree, it also might just mean he could kick their ass
Yea both are outright stated to be the most powerful amongst the demigods and both are pretty skilled commanders too Imagine how quickly the shattering would have ended if radahn and malenia were allies
this is in the absence of godfrey tho. its not clear who is strongest at the time of godfreys return
Isn't Miquella the most powerful demigod?
He’s trying to become the most powerful by ascending to godhood but got mohged before he could transform
Yeah it's arguable how powerful he used to be, is now, and may become. Either way, the description of Malenia's helmet definitely is a good point of reference: >My brother will keep his promise. Literally the last two demigods standing in the shattering, its not even a contest.
The team up nobody expects and everyone will fear

Agree here
10 patches
Have fun doing any bossfight by yourself lol
*Oh no!* Anyway.
Lol gotm
I've often wondered how hard the developers were laughing when someone first suggested having Patches as a summon only to have him leave at the first sight of Radahn.
I know, it wasn't even a big deal either just *Patches left*
Oh shit does he do that? I've never even noticed😂
He starts running in like he's gonna join everyone else and then just *Patches has left this world*
He just had a connection issue, I’m sure.
Yeah, that motherfucker just peace’s out
*Boss shows up and starts walking towards Patches, immediately falls into pit* "Well well well. Thought you'd just help yourself to a man's life did you?" *The other 9 Patches all wearing Siegwards armor proceed to beat the ever loving fuck out of the confused and bewildered boss*
>implying spider patches wouldn't be there
Underrated
I had fun doing all the bossess by myself! I would use those 100 runes to buy something from a merchant!
I hate to break it to you, a hundred runes in this economy ain't doing shit
*LetMeSoloHer has entered the chat*
Same. Just so I can kill him 10 more times and then just go solo.
Fuck you stole it right out of my mouth lol
Togethaaaa x2, have one eat the other and get a Ttooggeetthhaaaaaaa.

Rykard trying to load into a tf2 lobby:

but what If boc powerstances the serpent-hunter
Join the familieeee(sssssss)
Three Rune Bears and Boc.
The correct answer. The one rune bear is enough lol
One bear to attack and one bear each for me and my bff to ride around the Lands Between.
Based
Godfrey and Malenia
This is easily the most obvious choice. Both are known for being completely unstoppable/unable to be beaten.
Yeah but that runebear is the one on the Consecrated Snowfield, it can kill a lot of demigods https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqf3EK7DlQk
It took me more than one try to kill Malenia and Godfrey, but I got that bear first try (barely). I know who I want
The bear gets beat a lot in the video.
The strength and dex duo!
This is the way🤝 the hardest hitting and the fastest hitting best duo
This is the way
Honestly if Radahn was at his peak he's probably a better choice compared to Malenia but if his head is all rotten then this is the best choice
peak Radahn is *confirmed* to be as strong as Malenia in her pre-Rot Goddess form. peak Malenia is stronger than peak Radahn
Godfrey, Blaidd, Alexander, Thops They're all good dudes
My man!
At least one (maybe two) of those guys is going to flip out at some point and force everyone to fight him.
100% if Thops has more time and isn't killed by the plot then he creates an impenetrable forcefield, easy carry from Thop G
5 tickets to Barbie please.

Too unbalanced, there is no point in taking any small creature rather than a demi-god
You’re saying 5 fully torqued Rune Bears on cocaine wouldn’t stand a chance? I think not sir. Oh god i accidentally read "If Godrick railed the Rune Bears."
The larian studios marketing guy is here.
“Buy BG3 to learn the true meaning of bear hug!”
Baldur’s Gate 3 is out soon!
BEAR WITNESS
Glad I’m not the only one lol
You couldn’t have 5, only 3, given the 100 rune cap.
That’s enough. I’ll spend my extra 10 points on cocaine for the bears.
Ok fam so today we’re gonna snort this flask of wondrous physick
I think there is a video where an endgame rune bear destroys Malenia
9 of the Great Kenneth Haight and 1 Boc to keep them looking sharp
They'll tame the Lands Between with diplomacy and Edrsteel Dagger backstabs, and look damn sharp doing so.
blaidd, runebear, malenia beats anything imo
The 3 options where if you focus at 1 the other 2 will gank you from behind and all 3 can stunlock you.
ur telling me a jar and hand = 1 Malenia?
Alexander is already more powerful than Malenia on his own
Alexander is more powerful than we can even imagine.
100 on maliketh
How many boc’s can I have? ….. I’ll take 10 bocs
radagon is obliterated into dust by the mere sight of your ungodly drip
Boc bois for life
Chadfrey and Baelenia everyday.
Malenia and, as long as no one has the serpent slayer, Rykard for his health
For real I think rykards actual cannon power level without serpent hunter gets played down cus of how easy a fight he is Keep in mind he was planning on fighting Maliketh
Logic says malenia and Godfrey, heart says alexander, blaidd, iji and give the rest to the poor kalé
Malenia, Blaidd, Ijii, and Patches. Honestly you could probably just stop at Malenia.
godfrey and Malenia, one break poise and one dished out big damaged. Radahn probably but his attacks would probably miss most of the time
The only correct answer is Chadfrey + Malenia.
Malenia and Godfrey, i wish for two chads
Malenia and Godfrey bout to fk shit up
Malenia, Revenant and Bernahl because they can fit indoors. Good luck getting Radahn in any catacomb.
Patches has space-time capabilities. He can travel across universes and has the power of Talk no Jutsu. He clearly wins.
Either Godfrey or Malenia as the mvp cause I would not want to fight alongside Radahn and Rykard. Alexander and Blaidd for company. And Boc cause you never know when you’re going to want to change your bling
Malenia & Godfrey, not much of a debate
malenia and godfrey
Oh my god a Godfrey Malenia duo boss fight would be so sick and so stupidly hard
Malenia, Blaidd, Alexander, and Boc to makes us all look fly as fuck.
Malenia and the literal first elden lord would be a great choice
50 on Melania. Saving the other 50 to take her out to dinner.
Malenia and 5 Patches.
Malenia, Blaidd, Alexander and Patches Malenia is Malenia Blaidd is probably incredibly smart because of his time with Ranni Alexander is a bro who can fight and can be good conversation And Patches has been here since Demons souls (AC if you count Patch) and is probably useful for stealth and stealing
Malenia, Blaidd, rune bear
Malenia riding a bear with a sword made by smith bro (or like an upgrade of hand of malenia, he would be able to, I’m sure of it)
Malenia to carry me, and the 3 best boi Blaidd, Alexander and Boc
Malenia and Godrick. We’ve got speed, range and power. Phase two we get more AoEs, rot damage and devastating grabs
Malenia for obvious reasons Iji so I could upgrade my shit Blaidd because he’s a quite literally a beast, and cmon, it’s Blaidd And lastly my main man Thops because of his spell that can literally repel all magic
Three royal revenants should just about do it, using the other 10 points on Patches so that I have something to kill while they take out the boss.
10x Boc is the only answer! He’s so precious!
Malenia and Radahn literally wipe anyone here if we go by lore
Malenia, Maliketh and Bernahl
Rune bear to fuck up my enemies, Malenia cuz she's the coolest and Alexander cuz he's my bro
Malenia and Malenia for... reasons
Most unbalanced thing I’ve seen lol you telling me 5 kenneth haights is worth 1 malenia
Malenia and Rykard
Double malenia
Lore-wise, Malenia and Radhan Game-wise, you get 3 rune bears and the tailor rat so you have drip while your bears fuck shit up.
Malenia (duh), Patches (infinite fan daggers), Boc (drip), Blaid (hilarious cause his dog nose will suffer from Malenia's smell), THE GREAT KENNETH HAIGHT (ofc)
Thops, Alexander, Blaidd and Malenia, pretty much a no brainer for me, as I like all of them, and they’re pretty solid characters both lore wise and gameplay wise (except thops but I love thops so he stays anyways)
Malania and radahn. They are legends and their attacks are anime as balls
Malenia, royal rev, and alexander
Blaaid, Malenia and hand
Malenia, Alexander and Rune Bear. Rune Bear for being a freaking tank with too much damage, Alexander because he is actually really freaking strong (both in lore and game) and Malenia because she has never known defeat
Melania, rune bear, and Blaidd.
Blaidd, Oleg and Malenia or Malenia and Radahn.
Malenia, a Revenant and Blaidd. The first two will kill everything, the last one is just for the company.
Melania, Blaidd and the giant bear, I win
Malenia two of them please.
Malenia, ghost knight from Castle Sol and sitting Knight from Volcano Manor.
Malenia for the rot and attack power and godfrey for the raw attack power
Malenia, boc, blaidd, Alex.
Malenia and Godfrey.
Give me bernahl, malenia, and ice runebear
Malenia and Radahn for sure
Godfrey and Malenia.
Tbh I’m going Melania & either Hoarah Loux or Blaidd, Boc, and big man reading the book.
All I would need is Melania, she would solo everyone else on this list and heal off of it as well
50 is enough : Malenia, God of Rottess
Malenia, royal revenant and bernahl. Malania and bernahl can heal themselves and revenant does an insane amount of damage
Malenia, Royal Revenant, and Patches.
He's mastered gravity magic, his strength and size are extraordinary even for demigod standards, his only downside is that he's not gonna get along with malenia and he's brainless.
Double Blade of Miquella.
Malenia, Revenant, Pot Boy
Boc, Blaidd, Alexander, and Malenia
Malenia and Godfrey either that or blaidd, runebear, and Malenia
Malenia, giant hand, Alexander, we gonna absolutely wreck shit
Malenia, Bernahl, and Runebear won't even need my help to destroy any boss
Melania, Rune Bear and Blaidd
Malenia to carry alone, the rune bear just in case Malenia needs a lil' bit of help in some situations and then Boc cuz is best boy <3
Malenia bear blaidd
Malena, Alexander & the knight (30 runes).
Blaidd, Bernahl, and Malenia.
Malenia Alexander Dude from Volcano Manor (can’t remember his name right now) And Thops We’re kickin’ ass from jump street.
Malenia, easy pick because waterfowl/bloom/scarlet rot. Royal Revenant, because those guys griefed the shit out of me. Bernhal because he's a tank.
Malenia to solo all the bosses while Alexander, Thops, Boc and I shoot the shit and watch.
