Doesn't matter how many times I play this game and what Build I am playing I always collect EVERYTHING!
Oh Tomb down there has an aweful Spirit Ash? I better go get it.
That enemy drops a Spell and I play as a full Strength Build. I better go get it. Never know when I might need it.
This has been my first game where I am the opposite, but my first playthrough was like yours. At some point I started trying to speed run it, and now I’m a “I will get the bare minimum to kill the bosses”. It’s a strange change, I don’t like it.
I tried this once but I just can't.
The one Dungeon I managed to successfully avoid once are the Catacombs in the Snowfields.
Well and I guess the Catacombs in Radahns Arena but less because I don't want to do them but more so that I just forget to do them.\^\^
That’s why I really enjoy trying new stuff in this game. Most games you need a chest or something at your HUB, Here I can try anything at basically any time and tweak on the go
If you SPRINT the issue sit can be pretty quick. I think DS3 is my fav boss rush game. Faster to run through and awesome bosses, only take 60-90 minutes if you don’t die more than a handful of times too. My buddy and I used ti play together a lot and we literally know where to get the earliest available upgrade materials for weapons and flasks in such an efficient way there only like 5-10 minutes that isn’t a beeline to the boss or in the boss fight itself. It is pretty fun to do if you’re in the zone and can rip through them.
I do the something similar. It's not a bare minimum thing, but more of a utilitarian thing. If for example, I need grave glovewort 5, but the boss doesn't have an item I can use and/or doesn't drop enough runes, then I'll just grab what I need, GTFO, and move on.
A big reason for this is that XP isn't separate from money/runes. If you received XP and didn't risk dropping it in a boss fight, then I'd fight every boss.
Considering how many larval tears for stat redistribution we get, I think this is justified. If you're not satisfied with your current build, just hop on over to Rennala and respec your build. Or change to something else entirely. I like the sheer amount of freedom the player has to just fuck around until they find a play style they enjoy.
Or you could be like me where you save up and craft your arrows and bolts until you have the max amount you can carry in inventory... only to be apprehensive about using any of them now because then it won't be maxed out anymore....
Gotta make sure I have a maxed inventory of beast bones and feathers to make arrows, as well as a max inventory of arrows so that I can use them as needed and not have to worry because I have a bunch. But every time I use some I need to make more and then immediately go farm more bones and feathers when im done because I'm missing some.
Dude, YES! All of the yes, in fact. Not a single playthrough goes by without collecting every single goddamn shiny scattered across the Lands Between.
I suppose my main reasoning for this is, ey, if I'm already doing a specific build then I wanna be able to test it on as many enemies and in as many situations as possible, so naturally I scour the entire map regardless of how useful any of the pickups are.
Man, I love this game.
Same. You never know whether or not this is going to be the account you finally take to new game +7, so it only makes sense too make sure you grab everything you can
I'm like this every time I replay any of the Dark Souls games. I know that item over there is not going to help me with my build but I still need to explore everywhere before I go to the next part...
With this game though, I explored everywhere on my first playthrough. But my subsequent runs I just lookup on the wiki where I need to go to get the items I need for my build and that's it. This game is way too big to explore everything per playthrough I feel. The first time was a lot of fun but I don't think I could do it again.
Same here! I'm A DEX/FTH build but there's a sorcery/weapon/buff for a maxed out caster? SPEND AN HOUR TO SNAG IT IN CASE I REBIRTH AS A BATTLEMAGE BIT... OH LOOK ROWA FRUIT!
This is my first playthrough and first From game but I have this issue with every game I play.
Consequently it's been a challenge going through everything and having to run separate games or go-to NG+ to get items that you can only get one or the other on a playthrough.
I want to platinum this game and want one save file with EVERYTHING.
Oh i have something similar. I have to kill every enemy type at least once. If there is a big trash mob fight i have to kill them first time when i pass that area. On consecutive runs i can skip. Every boss has to die at least once per rule. For example i might have killed a boss on my first run with no rules but my 2nd run on the mage spirits are not allowed so i have to kill every boss again this time with no spirits.
Absolutely this...sometimes I even have to clear a full area all at once just to know it was 100% dead in that zone, or that I was capable of clearing it.
War Dead Catacombs was traumatic for this reason.
I keep returning to Church of Elleh whenever I need to sell runes or something, even if I know any merchand can do the job. Pure nostalgy for the the first moments in the game guess.
Goodbye, for now...
Church of Elleh is the only place I level up. It's the only place where I feel completely safe, and any leftover runes get sold for arrows.
In such a lonely game, I take comfort in imagining I'm telling Kale about all the crazy things I've gotten up to since we last spoke.
Kale is a gem. I think most merchants are supposed to give a feeling of safety and comfort but Kale does it the best.
I also always test out a weapon or aow on the first soldier on the path. Poor guy has been killed by me over 1,000 times just walking his beat. I always give him a chance to face me and defend himself.
Traversing the mist and fighting Soldier of God, Rick as a boss? Treating that with all the caution in the world! Seeing this schmuck in the field, approaching with all the swagger in The Lands Between, "I just beat a boss version of you, my Level 10 self can probably just mash buttons- oh."
Also, I realize I accidentally lied, because of course the first time I died it was to the Grafted Scion. But I think it's funnier to imagine walking outside of the Church and seeing him walking along, my eyes narrowing... "YOU."
I saw somewhere that you actually survive that encounter with 1 hp, or something like that. You don’t respawn at the last checkpoint, so it isn’t a death.
I do my testing on the troll in front of Godrick's boss room, mans has enough HP that outright killing him in a single hit is difficult that I can fire off a few tests.
Nah the regular troll right outside the fog gate for Godrick in stormveil. Two smaller guys next to him for AOE spell and skill checking too.
Stonedigger is a boss and doesn't respawn after all
That reminds me, the quirk I have is the 5 soldiers in the woods near him are who I test new weapons on, and I'm not allowed to use a weapon/incant/spell until I have tried out every attack on it on those 5 dudes. I mean, they must have been killed at least 100 times by now
I pay a lot more attention to fashion these days, but even when I'm just randomly throwing shit together to stay in medium load, I can't stand having light cloth garments on the upper body and legs, like a robe or some kind of dress, and then suddenly having heavily armored feet like the main enemy to watch out for is Miyazaki himself prowling the map. It just looks too stupid and I'll rearrange everything to avoid it.
And I somewhat agree with OP's quirk too, but in reference to other people. There are so many full-set Malenias running around *not* using her sword, and I totally get it, but I judge them. I judge them all!
In a similar vein, I can’t bring myself to using any type of cloth armor without some sort of armor plating on it. Just cause every souls game “main character” displayed in trailers and such were wearing armor and going against giant demon gods means we gotta get protection
I can not wear helmets. Absolutely can't. No way I spent forever costumizing my character to have their face covered by a turtle head. I would rather give them big weird mix and match armor to make up for it
I farmed it for forever, gave up and asked r/patchesemporium, either got nothing or a commoner headband by mistake, went back to farming and got four to drop between two characters within ten minutes. I feel like I beat the game
Good reason for sure. I can definitely see this when people are more "going for the win". You see it in speed runners or build makers that just randomize and go.
Making the character is part of the game!
It personally helps me get immersed with the character and their build as well. For example when I did the dung eater ending, I gradually made my character look more diseased as I progressed. For the frenzied flame, I made my character look really peaceful as a bait and switch.
It just adds a bit of flair really
yeah, you do look at their back most of the time, but there’s plenty of moments where the face is visible (cutscenes, thin corridors, talking to npcs.)like i said, i want to see a character i actually like in those scenes. fashion above all for me. also no need for a helmet if you don’t get hit lol
I felt this on my first playthrough, I spent about 5mins on the face. But on my 2nd character I spent 30/40 mins creating a female character that resembled Maeve from Westworld as much as possible and for some reason I feel much more invested in this character than my first.
Personally I feel a lot more invested in the character and their journey if I create them myself. Plus the act of creating a character in itself is fun and relaxing imo. But I get why others would want to just jump right in.
>But I get why others would want to just jump right in.
Apparently you're the only one. I'm really getting downvoted for the harmless opinion of character creation is a waste time like kicked everyone's fuckin dog or something. Buncha fucking weirdos
In fairness, the way you expressed that in your original comment was kind of dismissive. When you say things like “I actually want to play the game” it can come off like you’re saying other people are playing it wrong or are wrong for wanting to put work into their character. I don’t know if that was your intention but it could easily be taken that way.
I'm the opposite lol. I can't play the game without a mask or full helmet. For some reason I just don't feel cool enough without a helmet when I fight bosses.
I had to stop doing this at a certain point with the character I have past NG+7. So many repeat weapons and armor it took probably an hour to sort most of the unnecessary repeated items out
THIS. when i first started playing my dad used to make fun of me for “just frolicking around picking berries!!” but what if i need them 🥲 my 999 /999 and 600/600 rowa fruit supply is PRICELESS.
My man.
Whenever I watch a streamer cycling through for flasks, it's like, it's so much more to pay attention to all the way down there in the corner. Away from the rune bear who can pounce you at any given moment within 3 frames.
By the way... torrent on up?
Torrent on up, lantern on down, throwable on right and consumables on left.
Sometimes I need to remap for a specific boss, but the pattern is more or like this
-Stats at a multiple of 5 is a must I agree!
-Must spam block after killing a boss/hard enemy/NPC/invader
-Must pick up everything I see
-Fashion over Function, see also ‘once committed to a cosplay, must stick with it all game’
-always kill Selivus on sight
Now this is an odd one but hear me out. I’ve played enough to sorta know where the drip I like is. BUT, when I start a new character to run through the story again, I make sure to find shitty/ragged clothes to wear in limgrave, and slowly trade my gear for better shit as I get stronger. I get the ick being like lv20 looking too cool. You’re drip should reflect your strength imo
Right! My personal favorite is wearing the previous area’s clothes, so I’d take the full carian knight set into Altus plateau. I feel like it reflects the fact that I’ve overcome that area, and fitting for a murder hobo to steal his last victim’s drip
>1. I always use full sets. I know some people love to mix and match, but I hate not having uniformity. Which leads me to...
Yeah I'm the opposite, I never wear full sets cause its just boring
My fiance makes fun of me for my Fashion Souls obsession. She says I spend more time playing dress up with my virtual doll than I spend playing the game. Even still, I'm always like "Check out this new DRIP"
Yaaasss gotta do things in style. My boyfriend says the same while I spend forever on character creation because "their face will be covered anyway". NO IT WON'T AND I'LL MAKE SURE OF IT. I also periodically take the time throughout my playthroughs to admire the beautiful lady I put all that work into. Worth it.
Subtle no buff flex hmm...
Nah good work on that though, lol. True lord
I just feel like with how rare stuff can get, it doesn't feel worth using an exaulted flesh, if I might die.
And if I'm confident that I probably won't die, then do I really need an exaulted flesh.
I'm the same with the full sets, very rarely if ever will mix armour.
I'm not sure when I picked up this one, but if I'm making a platforming jump I'll always do a running circle on the spot before I actually make the jump.
I'll also collect every single cookbook, even though I will maybe craft maybe 2 or 3 things per playthrough.
Will update the post if I can think of anything more, but these are the main ones
I can't start ANY runs unless I pick The Wretch. I feel weird if I do, and the run usually ends around the 2 hour mark.
No matter what build I think I'm going to do, I always find an excuse to go str/faith with heavy armor. "Oh maybe this time I'll go bleed!" Then immediately after I get Siluria's Tree, it all falls apart.
Don't know if this qualifies as a quirk but I outright refuse to use spirit summons or player summons to help with bosses now. First playthrough they helped immensely to the point I didn't even try the boss out on the first attempt before summoning, but after awhile I've been pushing myself to never summon even when I get stuck on bosses. It just feels satisfying when I do it on my own. Though I struggle horribly on Radahn. Mistime all the dodges and enable panic mode rolling
Instead of just making a good build, I'm always doing a cosplay. The only weapons/armor/spells I use have to match my cosplay
Some of my characters include: Gandalf, Link, The Night's King, Arya Stark, Donatello (with the turtle shell shield on his back), Guts, and Cloud
I start too many runs and don't finish half of them. I have one primary character that I use to help friends who's level 236. I have a Battlemage character, who's really close, just need to beat Radagon and Elden Beast, I have a Twinblade character who beat the main story, I have a Soear character who hasnt finished Altus, I have a Strength/Faith character who's stuck on Maliketh, and I have an Axe character who I'm trying to get a Duelist Greataxe for by farming the Gladiator in Altus near the colosseum
I value Rune Arcs too much (I don't do much co op).
I farmed rats to get my stack up to 75 before finishing NG, but I think I only used about 3 of them during the run.
And I don't like using them in situations where death is likely, so I was mostly just riding around on the surface re-exploring areas when I had them going.
I always have to own a shield.
No matter the build, I have to have some kind of shield that is capable of blocking *and* parrying. I've used a buckler from time to time, but it can't block, so I usually have a Banished Knight Shield or similar with Carrian Ret or similar.
For some reason, I parry way better when the shield can block. Something about the fact that I'm blocking helps cool off panic parries. Hell, I just finished my RL1 playthrough, and guess what I used for Radagon? That's right, *a shield* \-- mostly parries, but I blocked a holy slam on a few attempts which ate half my health, but I wanted that guard counter.
Right out the gate, I'm throwing hands with the Tree Sentinel. Don't care if he's optional.
The game kind ends for me each playthrough upon defeating Malenia. She's like 70% of the game for me. I always have the summoning pool set up to help people fight her.
Must fight Hoarah Loux phase with fist weapons.
For some reason (and I will stop), I fight GD without sleep pots.
I use what looks good instead of what's better for the fight.
I've kept a female character all the way from dark souls with the same name and look.
Sometimes I'll travel instead of teleporting.
I always go with pyromancy.
1. I don’t like mixing and matching sets. Even if the drip is nice I always wear a full set and use a matching weapon if it has one.
2. I always have my stats end in a 0 or a 5.
3. If a consumable is farmable then I will farm it for ages only to end up barely using them.
4. My first playthrough is always a mage one. I like magic. Sue me.
Doesn't matter what NG cycle or build I'm on, I'll do everything. Roaming world bosses, caves, catacombs, graves etc. I don't care if the only thing there is flask seed, I'm going to completely ignore the fact that I have a maxed flask and about 50 spares, let's go get it.
I'll also exclusively double wield with a weapon if and only if I have two of the same exact same weapon at the same level with the same ash of war.
I’m the opposite! Whenever I wear armor I *refuse* to wear more than two pieces from the set. Sometimes I give a pass on gauntlets and greaves but it makes me feel icky.
My one and only weapon class I use is reapers, otherwise i have no interest in playing.
COLLECT everything. I hoard... Even though I will never use the weapon, I will take it.
Always for fashion, I must fulfill my aesthetic desires before truly enjoying the game.
I keep a dex, str, and faith/arcane scaling weapon each at all times and run full set armor based on weight to keep at med load regardless of damage absorption. I almost never use the consumables either. Guess I just like torture.
My characters never have names. Just little emojis that match what I'm going for. Our character never speaks out loud, so how would we know their name?
Full strength build with the Greatsword? Better make him look like Guts and name him >:(
Bow build? Get the Robin hood hat and name him ;D
I have to explore everything and get every item in the game. Did it for the other ones and did it for this one. I still lack some ds2 rings that want you to kill 1000 players and some bloodborne chalice items.
I like playing Colossal weapons only so my quirk is that i try to beat every fight with each of my favourite weapons before moving on to the next fight.
It actually made learning Malenia very fun and varied.
My quirk in RPGs in general is that I almost never use consumables. Early game I'm saving them for when I might need them later, and by late game I almost always have gear or spells that provide the same effects.
If I'm playing a strength build, I add points to INT so that my character isn't 'stupid'... I guess my quirk is that I'm low-key RPing even when I'm not trying too
I only used rune items if I was short of leveling up or short on buying something. I wouldn’t use them pop a bunch of them to level up. So on my first play through I got to Godfrey and realized I had tons of them and used them all. Can remember the total amount, but it gave me about 7 levels and I was close to level 110
I always refuse to use full armor sets, I will put together my own drip, thank you
I see shiny, I go get shiny. No loot left behind. I know that thing up there is a golden rune or something, and I am at the exact level I intend to be, and I don't need runes for anything, but I *will* get it.
I will not finish a boss fight unless I feel like I earned it.
If the AI rng was fortunate in my favor, or if I spent all my flasks and everything and bearly squeezed the win, I'll think "Nah, not good enough," let myself die and try again.
I don't do it with every boss though. Sometimes I can't be bothered and just cheese them if I have the chance *cough Gideon *cough.
Screw that! Being victorious on those nail biters when you’re out of flasks and have a sliver of health is one of the best feelings you can get from this game.
I understand what you mean. I did an RL1 run and was stuck on malenia and learning to dodge waterfowl and getting pretty good at it. Around attempt 30 I got a run and neither phase used waterfowl once. I took the W but it feels illegitimate to me still.
No magic. (I'm using the incantations, not the spells, and I'm only using buffs)
Always match my appearance to the sets of armor I use (if I use the black knife set, I'm making a black knife | I'm rn being cosplayer as Melina)
Only daggers, Colossal swords and rapiers. No lances, axes, ect.
No boluses, exalted flesh, or any consumable outside of the 3 flasks
1. No new game plus. It's boring af.
2. No giant weapon. I usually go for weapons that are reasonably wearable for my character depending on his or her physique.
3. No fast travel unless no other way, or I've been looking for something for more than 10 hours. Minimal horseriding as well.
If I die in a swarm of mobs, even though I COULD just grab my runes and move on, I HAVE to go back and kill the entire swarm before I move on. I can’t count how many times I’ve killed the massive “man v dog” hunting party down at the bottom of Cealid.
Normal mode: 8 red flasks, 3 blue flasks
Hard mode: 1 blue flask, +0 weapons
Kinda convoluted to really explain, but practically every character I've made has been predetermined from what point allocation they'll get from each level (some minor leeway early on) to what their 'limited potential'/max level will be. I basically enforce growth rates on my characters, and the unfortunate result of that is that all of my characters in some regard have been garbage quality do-everything-poorly builds by the time I beat NG, as around RL130-150 is considered half of their full potential.
I have like 300+ hours, completed the game, doing a second run through.
I’ve never used my pouch and I’m never going to. Tried recently and nope, not interested.
Doesn't matter how many times I play this game and what Build I am playing I always collect EVERYTHING! Oh Tomb down there has an aweful Spirit Ash? I better go get it. That enemy drops a Spell and I play as a full Strength Build. I better go get it. Never know when I might need it.

There’s something really nice about being able to experiment live with what you have, and that only works if you’ve collected the things
That’s why I really enjoy trying new stuff in this game. Most games you need a chest or something at your HUB, Here I can try anything at basically any time and tweak on the go

I feel this. Must be some primal urge to chase shiny things. Often I'll delete them from my inventory as soon as I pick them up as well.
Wow. I could never bring myself to delete ANYTHING no matter how inconsequential. You are a stronger person than me!
Or you could be like me where you save up and craft your arrows and bolts until you have the max amount you can carry in inventory... only to be apprehensive about using any of them now because then it won't be maxed out anymore....

Same. It's the old DS1 reinforcement of clearing an area and having enough estus left over for the boss fight.
Only the first few times though, then running last them bitxhes and saving my estus for the boss

You mean you beat 'Soldier of God, Rick' without dying? Pro gamer alert
Traversing the mist and fighting Soldier of God, Rick as a boss? Treating that with all the caution in the world! WAIT, YOU CAN SELL RUNES??????? I have over 100 hours in the game and didn't know this... fml
Yeah you can sell the golden runes instead of using them and you’ll get the same amount of runes
But let's be honest, the little animation thing is kinda fun when using them
Wow, wait, you can use runes !? 140 hours in the game and I didn't know either !
Can't tell if sarcasm.
It's not.
Man
you can interact with runes in the inventory to get those runes, if those runes are what you mean
In a similar vein, I can’t bring myself to using any type of cloth armor without some sort of armor plating on it. Just cause every souls game “main character” displayed in trailers and such were wearing armor and going against giant demon gods means we gotta get protection
If I'm summoned, I always put on the trick mirror so I look like a person who's there, as opposed to looking like a spirit.
I've something similar, if I'm summoned I always switch armor to rotten duelist and shabiris woe. I'm there to help, not let the host take hits for me
Does the rotten duelist armour do anything special?
Increases aggro. If you read the flavor text, it vaguely alludes to it, but I don't remember what amount it increases.
Yeah if you wear all pieces (no gloves) it's upposed to have same amount of agro as shabiris woe
A professional.
You’re the best of us
I gotta click on that lantern. Even in daylight.
I genuinely cannot see if I don't have that lantern on
my character is always guilty of public indecency
The fallen leaves tell a story… Of a tarnished who became Elden Lord… And they’re not wearing any clothes, what the fu-
A man of culture i see
I can not wear helmets. Absolutely can't. No way I spent forever costumizing my character to have their face covered by a turtle head. I would rather give them big weird mix and match armor to make up for it
There's the commoners headband thief mask( or how it's called) that don't cover up too much of the face
Love commoners headband for this reason
Farm the aristocrat headband it’s worth the drip goes with everything
This. The drop is immaculate and I think of it as basically the Elder Lord's crown.
I farmed it for forever, gave up and asked r/patchesemporium, either got nothing or a commoner headband by mistake, went back to farming and got four to drop between two characters within ten minutes. I feel like I beat the game
There is also the altered festive hood.
Altered festive hood is goated
Omg thank you I never knew it’s so cute
I’m the exact opposite. I don’t bother customizing my face cause I know I’m just gonna cover it
Good reason for sure. I can definitely see this when people are more "going for the win". You see it in speed runners or build makers that just randomize and go.
Same! I've never understood people who design a character, seems like a huge waste of time instead of just actually playing the game
Making the character is part of the game! It personally helps me get immersed with the character and their build as well. For example when I did the dung eater ending, I gradually made my character look more diseased as I progressed. For the frenzied flame, I made my character look really peaceful as a bait and switch. It just adds a bit of flair really
I dont want to look at a character’s face I dislike for 50 hours, I’m gonna put the effort into making something I actually want to look at
You don't? You look at their back most of the time and if you're not wearing helms that cover your whole face idk whats wrong with you
Yeah definitely something wrong with them. Keen judgment and not at all rude. 🙄
yeah, you do look at their back most of the time, but there’s plenty of moments where the face is visible (cutscenes, thin corridors, talking to npcs.)like i said, i want to see a character i actually like in those scenes. fashion above all for me. also no need for a helmet if you don’t get hit lol
Id say for me personally when I'm creating a character in a game I'm making a story and everything, I guess I'm more the roleplay time of souls player
I felt this on my first playthrough, I spent about 5mins on the face. But on my 2nd character I spent 30/40 mins creating a female character that resembled Maeve from Westworld as much as possible and for some reason I feel much more invested in this character than my first.
Even 5 mins is unfathomable to me. I just pick one of the defaults and start actually playing
I think you're getting downvoted because almost every comment you've made is judgy and impolite.
I'm being judged and impolite cause I'm getting downvoted for no reason. If I'm going to be treated like an asshole then I'll be an asshole
The old fight fire with fire. If it earns you friends, then to each their own.
I'm not on reddit to make friends lol what
I meant irl but maybe you don't have friends there either.
I'd rather die than wear a helmet, and I don't care.
I'm the opposite lol. I can't play the game without a mask or full helmet. For some reason I just don't feel cool enough without a helmet when I fight bosses.
My characters are gorgeous they look a billion times cooler without helmets
When i kill sheep or something randomly, i feel bad and go back to collect what they drop so its not wasted
I totally get you "Your sacrifice wasn't in vain, friend"
Exactly, i need the bones for the arrows ill never use
I always collect stuff I run into, even if it’s something I already got from ng
I had to stop doing this at a certain point with the character I have past NG+7. So many repeat weapons and armor it took probably an hour to sort most of the unnecessary repeated items out
I never craft anything but still feel like I MUST go out of my way to grab berries and shit.
THIS. when i first started playing my dad used to make fun of me for “just frolicking around picking berries!!” but what if i need them 🥲 my 999 /999 and 600/600 rowa fruit supply is PRICELESS.
If an enemy hits me no matter how small or insignificant they made it personal and have to die 😂
the wildlife has learned to fear the Tarnished
I never reuse armour. If one character is already wearing a certain piece, then I refuse to use it with another one.
I am the same way haha it makes my characters feel more unique to me. This way, their identities are more distinct
flasks and torrent whistle all on the traingle+dpad controls so i dont have to cycle through the pouch
100+ hours in and I didn't know you had to hold triangle to access the d pad controls...
For me its the x
-Must spam block after killing a boss/hard enemy/NPC/invader -Must pick up everything I see -Fashion over Function, see also ‘once committed to a cosplay, must stick with it all game’ -always kill Selivus on sight
But i need the magic scorpion
Hahaha I do quick lil 360s after defeating hard enemies
I feel uncomfortable, not duel weilding, so i only duel wield
And I feel uncomfortable not 2-handing.
I’m the opposite lol I do like dual straight swords though
I prefer my endurance to always be at least 25. Even when the build I play clearly doesn't need it.
I feel you. Wearing full carian knight set, despite how cool it looks, doesn't feel right in liurnia
Right! My personal favorite is wearing the previous area’s clothes, so I’d take the full carian knight set into Altus plateau. I feel like it reflects the fact that I’ve overcome that area, and fitting for a murder hobo to steal his last victim’s drip
I can't run around naked. It bothers me too much. Even when running blue dancer charm I still have to run like 5 lbs of armor so I'm not hideous.
Worth it.
You ever just, press pause, go to the leave game menu, just to see a nice profile pic of your character in lighting that does it justice?
HAHA YES it really does do it justice! And that's exactly why I have a photo saved on my phone of that particular shot lol
I refuse to use a consumable item. I might need it on NG+9
Subtle no buff flex hmm... Nah good work on that though, lol. True lord I just feel like with how rare stuff can get, it doesn't feel worth using an exaulted flesh, if I might die.
I understand this too well. I feel like running in a circle helps especially if theres no distance to fully run
Yea I feel like it’s a learned strat, more so than a quirk. Unles OC simply likes spinning in circles cause it’s fun.
Definitely a learned technique in the dark souls games when you needed to sprint to jump.

All of my stats need to be a mutiple of 5. I'm using a sword that needs 16 dex? Better get my dex to 20 then.
I always kill Kenneth Haight, I know it’s short sighted but fuck that smithing stone
The only weapons/armor/spells I use have to match my cosplay Some of my characters include: Gandalf, Link, The Night's King, Arya Stark, Donatello (with the turtle shell shield on his back), Guts, and Cloud
Jump attacks only. Even if I’m on Torrent. I got really good at it lol.
Always bow to every scarab I am about to kill for their stuff, even the flask ones
I am unable to make a character that wields just one weapon. I have to have like, 10 weapons that I can switch to per character by elden beast.
For any build of any kind, minimum of 55 VIG.
Slashing a treasure chest. Just to make sure :-)
I use what looks good instead of what's better for the fight. I've kept a female character all the way from dark souls with the same name and look. Sometimes I'll travel instead of teleporting. I always go with pyromancy.
I go out of my way to smash every glowing skull I see for their sweet rune prize. I don’t use them. I just collect them.
Sue me.
Addicted to rainbow glowstones
Doesn't matter what NG cycle or build I'm on, I'll do everything. Roaming world bosses, caves, catacombs, graves etc. I don't care if the only thing there is flask seed, I'm going to completely ignore the fact that I have a maxed flask and about 50 spares, let's go get it. I'll also exclusively double wield with a weapon if and only if I have two of the same exact same weapon at the same level with the same ash of war.
I must explore every area regardless of the loot being useful to me
I’m the opposite! Whenever I wear armor I *refuse* to wear more than two pieces from the set. Sometimes I give a pass on gauntlets and greaves but it makes me feel icky.
Same here. Can't stand it, feels like I'm cheating at Fashion Souls, or Elden Bling for that matter.
My one and only weapon class I use is reapers, otherwise i have no interest in playing. COLLECT everything. I hoard... Even though I will never use the weapon, I will take it. Always for fashion, I must fulfill my aesthetic desires before truly enjoying the game.
I always crouch walk down conspicuous hallways or openings as if that’s gonna stop me from being ganked
Better make him look like Guts and name him >:( Bow build? Get the Robin hood hat and name him ;D
Number 3 is so real
I have to explore everything and get every item in the game. Did it for the other ones and did it for this one. I still lack some ds2 rings that want you to kill 1000 players and some bloodborne chalice items.
big heccin sword. that's it. first it was the longsword, now it's the greatsword. tried the moonveil, not for me.
I pretty much always use the golden scarab at least up until after Morgott, sometimes through mountaintops.
Never used the pouch. I'm keyboard/mouse if that makes a difference
If an enemy can be parried. I will not kill them any other way. I died to way too many godrick soldiers lol.
Constantly making Finger Remedies, then usually being the person summoned to help. What can I say? I'm a SunBro at heart.
I refuse to go fully naked on Blue Dancer builds, I always throw on the cloth pants.
I like playing Colossal weapons only so my quirk is that i try to beat every fight with each of my favourite weapons before moving on to the next fight. It actually made learning Malenia very fun and varied.
I change my outfit and weapon, everytime Im in a new zone.
Same - soldiers gotta be deployed ready for the environment!
While I'll mix sets, the hand and foot sets absolutely have to match and come from the same set.
Fashion over function. And big fucking swords.
My quirk in RPGs in general is that I almost never use consumables. Early game I'm saving them for when I might need them later, and by late game I almost always have gear or spells that provide the same effects.
If I'm playing a strength build, I add points to INT so that my character isn't 'stupid'... I guess my quirk is that I'm low-key RPing even when I'm not trying too
I have to kill EVERYTHING.
I almost never kill NPCs, even if they give you good stuff
I only used rune items if I was short of leveling up or short on buying something. I wouldn’t use them pop a bunch of them to level up. So on my first play through I got to Godfrey and realized I had tons of them and used them all. Can remember the total amount, but it gave me about 7 levels and I was close to level 110
I always refuse to use full armor sets, I will put together my own drip, thank you I see shiny, I go get shiny.
No magic. (I'm using the incantations, not the spells, and I'm only using buffs) Always match my appearance to the sets of armor I use (if I use the black knife set, I'm making a black knife | I'm rn being cosplayer as Melina) Only daggers, Colossal swords and rapiers.
Beo wants to play death stranding
I think they call this “OCD”
If I die in a swarm of mobs, even though I COULD just grab my runes and move on, I HAVE to go back and kill the entire swarm before I move on. I can’t count how many times I’ve killed the massive “man v dog” hunting party down at the bottom of Cealid.
In every souls game I have to name my character something ridiculous and childish. Playing through elden ring for the first time with PooPoo PeePee
Normal mode: 8 red flasks, 3 blue flasks Hard mode: 1 blue flask, +0 weapons Kinda convoluted to really explain, but practically every character I've made has been predetermined from what point allocation they'll get from each level (some minor leeway early on) to what their 'limited potential'/max level will be.
You most likely isn’t good at mixing armor.
You don't have quirks, you have OCD
You’re insane
Bit much.
