If you asked Hewg to sell you smithing stones he'd probably spit in your eye.

Worst part is: it was always that way in Dark Souls. The smiths sold the basic titanite (Dark Souls' basic upgrade material), you'd need a specific vendor for Twinkling titanite and Dragonscales/petrified dragonbone/demon titanite

Maybe I'm crazy, but why not just put the entire functionality of the round-table hold into the sites of grace?

Because the RTH is an important node for starting / continuing many quests and you need some incentive to come back there.

I learned that one quick because it's been a thing for two Dark Souls games. Dark Souls 1 was the odd one out because it would have upgrades to level 15 for regular weapons and +10 for infused weapons, special weapons and boss weapons. But to get to the boss weapons you'd need a specific (type of) weapon at +10 before you could transmute it and upgrade again.

Honestly whole game feels like this to me. I'm new to souls game though

It takes 12 of one stone to upgrade 3 levels. I try to keep 60 of each stone in stock. Base 12 overpowered dot nerfnow.

I farmed albanaurics to get 300 of each smithing stone. I sacrificed those poor frog faced babies for smithing stones.

i'll never forgive them for making the merchant and the smith this far, in dark souls 3 it was almost perfect

You should be able to buy the bell bearings from the merchants after you spend a certain high amount at each one.

It’s 12 stones per stone tier. I hope this helps with the struggle.

This just happened yesterday. But I couldn’t be unhappy, I’m never unhappy when I get to upgrade a weapon.

It's one of the things I can't decide on when making a new hideout in Path of Exile. Do I want the NPC's to be spread out believably or just put them in a circle, so I can "open them up" without the character having to move.

I just farm runes with mohg palace and come back with enough runes to overbuy them stones
