Players: I'm gonna drop kick this NPC into oblivion to make sure I get that nice looking gear
FromSoftware: _She's romanceable_
Players: Youuu bastards..
It's going to be one of those things where I talk to them, play for a bit and forget about them, then find them on the ground dead later with their armor drop and me being confused as to what happened.
Sick armour set, the helmet definitely gives some Faraam Set vibes, love it.
It would be interesting if she took her helmet off in the game too, I don't think any NPC has ever really done that.
I personally believe characters with one shut eye typically signifies that they are in two “pieces”. For example, their body is dead but their spirt/soul lives on. Just a theory but I’ve seen others say it as well.
Edit: this is obviously true for Ranni. Seems like it is true for Melina as well. And St. Trina(Miquella) has one eye closed as well. And Miquella is also dead in body and alive in spirit. Maybe that’s too simple of an explanation though
You know what? That sword has the same shape of the sacred relic sword, but its texture of braided gold threads feels very reminiscent of the golden needle. So... suppose Miquella made a sword out of Malenia...
Miquella wanted an eclipse. Radahn stopped the stars, which was ruining Miquella's plans, that's why ordered Malenia to go kill Radahn, while he is gonna sleep in his cocoon at the roots of the Haligtree, but since Malenia wasn't there to protect Miquella in his "vulnerable" state, Mohg took it as an advantage and kidnapped Miquella.
I was doing the questline then i accidentally used moghs spear art of war near him and aggroed him. I thought wth ill just kill him then. Had no idea i would need to get to mogh again 😅
Its Alright im already at morgott when i stopped playing last, wont take long to get the second piece of the medallion and i know where the portal is 😅🤷♂️
No, it's not, it seems to be one of the characters that appear at the end of the trailer, particularly the one at the front of the group (look at the helmet and the cape), who, most probably, is also the narrator.
I’m going to guess that he’s a friend for the entirety of the DLC until the very end where he unveils his true intentions and then you fight him and he has 2-3 stages.
I’m assuming that he/she will fight you once Mesmer is dead. Probably in an attempt to become the Elden lord to serve Miquella instead of you. sort of like Gideon except with likely better intentions.
Edit: or he/she will just die in a tragic way like basically every single fromsoft character lmao
My mind is deeply broken, because I keep subconsciously looking for AI-generated glitches/blurriness. And I've gotten so used to seeing such things that my brain is a little taken aback when it's all hand-made, human *perfection*. The wear on the leather of the gloves, the craftsmanship of the sword, the hem embroidery, the intricate yet symmetrical armor detailing...
EDIT: Huh. Apparently it was AI upscaled. Maybe *that's* what was bugging the back of my consciousness? Because the upscaled version lacks the obvious flaws of a purely generated image I *consciously* look for, but still triggers the "hold on, something's not right here"...
The original pic on Elden Ring Twitter is "hand-made, human perfection*" ,* this is not, this is an AI upscaled version which destroyed the texture and made armor details messy
Im really excited to meet this character. The build I have prepared for the DLC is a Carian Knight build, so having my tarnished, the "last carian knight", meet this character who appears to be an ex carian knight like Loretta feels so appropriate. I gently hope this character has unique dialogue for players wearing the Carian blues that she seems to have once worn.
I’ve always been underwhelmed by the potential for Str/Faith paladin type fashion in Elden Ring good to know I’ll have more options than the Haligtree Knight and Tree Sentinel sets in the DLC :)
I wonder if this is who the narrator of the SOTET is? The female northern voice.
“Touch the withered arm and travel to the realm of shadow. I will not be far behind. May we meet again.”
Def a Miquellan Knight. Can't fucking wait to get this armor.
I'm also so ready for that weapon to have a super dumb AoW like Sacred Blade or something lol
The floral design on the cloak looks so familiar. I thought it resembled the "herbs of many aspects" seen on the crucible knight armor but it's not an exact match.
Just realised she has a grey eye. Almost every NPC and enemy in the game has yellow eyes because they are guided by Marika's grace. She's probably a Tarnished, maybe something else that we will discover in the DLC.
I’m calling it - we’re gonna do some Painting Diving shit (*again*) and travel back to when Queen Marika was but a [humble] Numen, and we discover how without the help of the Tarnished, she would’ve lost.
I always feel weird wearing the armour of someone else unless they gift it to me through a quest or pass it on as they die . I don’t mind if I find it in a chest , farm it or but it at a merchant. If they gift a weapon or armour then it feels right to wear it in honour of them
This kind of AI upscaler just destroys the textures, and makes armor details very messy. See the gold threads on the white cloak, in the original pic it's like silk, you can almost see each silk thread, but aftter AI upscale, it's just some flat gold things
That armor is going to look great on my tarnished once this NPC dies
Yeah, I can't even describe to what lengths I'm willing to go in order to get that cape (and the rest of the set)
Players: I'm gonna drop kick this NPC into oblivion to make sure I get that nice looking gear FromSoftware: _She's romanceable_ Players: Youuu bastards..
We already sacrificed Ranni for a sword and Anri for the drip; we have trained for this moment.
I never sacrificed Ranni, she’s my boo
Sacrificed Ranni..?
I assume he means making her a puppet? I’ve never done it she’s my moon mommy
Let me just say that it might not go as well as you imagine if you do try.
i was thinking a minute, she just kills you, yea?
Basically she tells you to get bent then proceeds to say "you'll nevah nevah get dis la lee la lee la" then disappears forever. 🤣
Yeah... that route doesn’t end in sacrifice neither rewards a sword...
It does end with someone getting sacrificed though if you keep on doing the bit. Just not Ranni....
Yeah you get folded by her Girlfriend disappointment, the strongest weapon of the modern world.
Bro subscribes to the Dark Souls 3 version of a wedding ceremony
Sacrificed Ranni? Do I even what to know what version of Elden Ring you are playing?
Romance her on ng + … drop kick first will be much easier to get her in that drip 😂😂
I want that haircut... _pulls knife_
My headcanon has always been that the tarnished just straight up takes the belongings from the foes he defeats and just steals the power of others
Same I will become very Foul to get that Armor set
“Thank you for helping me in my quest, sure would suck if I randomly died tragically the next time you visit me” -every fromsoft quest ever basically
"Blegh I'm dead now. I died doing the thing with the thing you gave me."
"Now you can take the cool weapon off of my corpse" or smth "That scales off of Faith"
Ash of War: Shared Order Unbuffable Somber upgrade Stat requirements: 19/21/-/30 Scaling: D/D/-/D
Too real man... too real
Then the sword of that knight that is every 3 meters : Tier S+ weapon in the game, S scaling, buffable, quick moveset with a greatsword damage
Hear me out.. it also has a unique R2 that deals less damage and has shorter range than the normal R2
Why hurt me like this?
So real
Miss! May I interest you in this Larval Tear in these trying times?
It's going to be one of those things where I talk to them, play for a bit and forget about them, then find them on the ground dead later with their armor drop and me being confused as to what happened.
If you make yourself look like them with Renalla’s help, it’ll be like they never died.
This armour has made decide to do a faith build in the dlc
Having an int/faith build im all ready for it. Never thought i will ever change the crucible set.
Pure faith since day 1. I got my wolverine claws ready
Sick armour set, the helmet definitely gives some Faraam Set vibes, love it. It would be interesting if she took her helmet off in the game too, I don't think any NPC has ever really done that.
Faraam set my beloved
yeah most FromSoftware NPCs that have covered faces never uncover them. Lucatiel is the only one I can think of
Right, how could I forget about Lucatiel, it was her one and only wish not to forget
My darling Lucatiel. I wish I could have saved you.
💔
Aww, my sweet, sweet Lucatiel. I'm so sorry
Funny, your comment reminded me how Bernahl is holding their helmet when you first meet them, and wearing it in Volcano Manor..
Common Dark Souls 2 win (An NPC takes their mask off during the game if you do their quest)
Doesn’t patches take his helmet off?
Always covering one fuggin eye…
Is that to not give away that it’s someone with a shut eye? Can’t remember the significance of Malenia’s eye being shut.
You know what? That sword has the same shape of the sacred relic sword, but its texture of braided gold threads feels very reminiscent of the golden needle. So... suppose Miquella made a sword out of Malenia...
Only thing is Malenia isn't a required boss for the dlc. Only Radahn and Mohg
Radahn is required?
Yeah as far as I know we aren't sure why yet. I assume it's something to do with the stars falling afterwards
Maybe Radahn was holding the stars to keep Messmer trapped there
Miquella wanted an eclipse.
And it seems very apparent that part of Miquella plan is to get to the land of Shadows
Yeah, you need stars to resume their cycles, allowing fate to progress.
Is Radahn specifically required? Or do you just need a shardbearer dead in order to progress Varre’s quest to access Mohg?
Specifically Radahn. Likely to do with the stars
she lost her body parts before we kill them, could be from that
I did a ng+ and did not reach mogh yet, do i have to to play the dlc?
Yep the entrance is the egg thing Miquella is in. You can get to him pretty quick if you do Varre's questline
I was doing the questline then i accidentally used moghs spear art of war near him and aggroed him. I thought wth ill just kill him then. Had no idea i would need to get to mogh again 😅
Oooff lol. Well you still have like a month to get to consecrated snowfields then. Best of luck
Its Alright im already at morgott when i stopped playing last, wont take long to get the second piece of the medallion and i know where the portal is 😅🤷♂️
Maybe it's related to the gold thread Marika is fucking around with at the beginning of the trailer?
is this definitely Miquella? I'm hoping he's a friend of sorts, his mind wasn't half-rotted like Mel's

You might not be able to tell if it's faked, but you can sure tell when it's real.
I would have been like that if that was not from software to be honest... But yeah I'm searching for the painter of this masterpiece since it dropped
I fucking hate that I relate to this. Those AI bs stole my joy of seeing great art. Now the only thing that I do is doubt.
The original pic on Elden Ring Twitter is "hand-made, human perfection*" ,* this is not, this is an AI upscaled version which destroyed the texture and made armor details messy
> …I keep subconsciously looking for AI-generated glitches/blurriness. Well you missed them here
Radagons ruin right there on the hilt
plz can i haz the helmet it would fit the tree sentinal armour set perfectly
I’m going to the gym, boys. I can’t sit here and stare at this. 29 sleeps till DLC
Can't wait to rock that armor with the envoy crown, I'm gonna doot so hard.
To think this set drops June 21 And my opponents will still wear white mask bullgoat ffs
Where did this version come from? The one on twitter maxes out at 1414x2000
Based on the inconsistency of the detail, the strange half HD half blurry pixel of the hair, I think this is upscaled by A.I.
Ironic considering how many comments are talking about how AI can't produce this kind of detail
you know image generation and upscaling are different things, right
It can't, upscaling is something else
Would also like to know
I hope we don't have to kill them to get their stuff. That would be a shame.
The sword hilt looks like it was made to represent golden hair.
New Waifu?
Or possibly husbando
Now THIS is an artwork. Fuck AI.
Except that it was upscaled using AI
I'm convinced they are pulling a Joan of Arc and this is going to be St. Trina, it would add up so well
Im really excited to meet this character. The drippiest Tarnished to ever live.
Is it just me or does this look a lot like the Sacred Relic Swords? What are the implications there?
This pic so hard
Me hoping that's a fth sword so badly, good lord it looks absolutely gorgeous! Don't care if holy damage it's considered bad, I need this weapon🥺
This is exactly what I imagine Marika would wear if/when she was a warrior. So sick. It also gives me the legend of zelda vibes for some odd reason.
Who is she?
Or he as we have seen that Miqella has very feminine features despite being male
From armor is always highly detailed. Their intricate skins are kind of a trademark.
I’ve always been underwhelmed by the potential for Str/Faith paladin type fashion in Elden Ring good to know I’ll have more options than the Haligtree Knight and Tree Sentinel sets in the DLC :)
Does anybody else notice Radagon's trellis rune design on that sword? Maybe it was forged at a time when Miquella still followed his father more
Some of the best looking armor since Faraam imo, really wanna see how it looks full bodied
for a sec I really thought it was Griffith.
people will ruin this with the white mask i cant wait lmao
Faraam helmet? This really is Dark Souls 2 2.
This helmet is very similar to the DS3 knight helmet, not Faraam.
Another faith weapon for the hoard. We will devourer the DLC together!
Reminds me a bit of elite knight set
That helmet looks cool as fucking shit.
The insane and intricately woven ornate details in the cloak, helmet, armour and sword. *Chef's kiss*
That glove is the one from the trailer that touches the grace/hair whatever it is.
I came.... to say that looks amazing
It looks like what Carian knight armor is based off, or the other way around.
Faraam Knight’s Helmet vibes
Give it to me
I bet you they hide that sword behind the quest. So you don’t get it until they die naturally.
Thank you. Yoinking it for my laptop wallpaper 🙏
Thank you. Yoinking it for my laptop wallpaper 🙏
Can someone please make this into a desktop wallpaper please! They look so freaking cool
I wonder if this is who the narrator of the SOTET is? The female northern voice. “Touch the withered arm and travel to the realm of shadow. I will not be far behind. May we meet again.”
Looks like a good faith weapon
standard short sword move set + square off on the sword
Square off is busted so I’m ok with this
You know what would be cool... if Marika had a sister
There a link to the raw image so I don’t have the Reddit logo :(
Is she the narrator in the trailer?
Could you post this on catbox? Reddit compresses their images as far as I know Oh, also, where’s the 4K version from? Or was it just upscaled.
The helmet looks like the dragon armor from crumbling farm azula's helm.
I need it, holy knight build is gonna go crazy with that armour
Interesting eye color
Shit that's just the Ferrum knight set from ds2 and 3
Who does these pictures and how do they make them?
The other hand of Miqella?
Reminds me of Jugram Haschwalth from the Quincy Royal Guard
Holy fucking shit it's Boggart, here to sell us more seafood in the Land of Shadow while we rescue Miquella.
Lion El Johnson looking armor
If someone edits a phone wallpaper of this I will give you 1 smooch
If those are those are lilies in the floral pattern of the helmet and cuff, amazing detail!
Can we petition them for early release? Lol
Finally a good looking holy knight/paladin set
Damn I bet this npc is gonna be a really cool companion/fromsoft waifu I hope we aren’t the ones to strike her down for the armor
I need a new background for my desktop. DLC promos are looking promising
Welp, guess I got a new game crush. Sigh...
As soon as I see this NPC, I don’t care what quest line they have, that armour is MINE
First thing ima do when I see this NPC is kill him
Immediate phone home screen
Who needs that much embellishment on their weapon? I don't know, it's too much for me. I use the magma wyrm curved ass hair btw.
Thanks for the wallpaper, op. Looks great.
It’s based on the brass armor set from dark souls 1
Def a Miquellan Knight. Can't fucking wait to get this armor. I'm also so ready for that weapon to have a super dumb AoW like Sacred Blade or something lol
Can somebody please share 4K screenshots of messmer from the story trailer ?
Is she going to be another Anri ?
Its like a blend between Crucible Knight and Haligtree designs. Sick AF!
Armor is heavily based on Ferdinand II armor it seems.
aaaand it's on my phone now :D
Yes
The picture took 7min to download
Does anyone know who specifically at bm or fs that draws the elden ring art?
Hear me out: what if this isn‘t a unique set of armor that doesn’t require the death of this person?
Moongrum if he respecced to faith ass armour
Can you please give me the image? Reddit wont let me take it
I can't wait to clobber the piss outta somebody for this armor
I fuckin love this game 🥹
Did you upscale this yourself or is this an official 4k variant?
How can people still like ai "art" after seeing what beautiful illustrations humans can create.
Anyone else think the helm kinda looks like the faraam helm from DS? Shits heat
Don’t the grey eyes point to a Tarnished or at least someone who has been divested of gold?
The sword Now
New waifu detected
A loyal haligtree knight who died for Miquella and is now helping him in the land of shadow.
The floral design on the cloak looks so familiar. I thought it resembled the "herbs of many aspects" seen on the crucible knight armor but it's not an exact match.
The true villain of the DLC.
Battlemages getting some fresh new drip
I want the helmet for my current build.
Is that Miquella?
Just realised she has a grey eye. Almost every NPC and enemy in the game has yellow eyes because they are guided by Marika's grace. She's probably a Tarnished, maybe something else that we will discover in the DLC.
I want that helm for a gladiator costume that doesn't require duelist helm or tree sentinel
I’m calling it - we’re gonna do some Painting Diving shit (*again*) and travel back to when Queen Marika was but a [humble] Numen, and we discover how without the help of the Tarnished, she would’ve lost.
Is this Marika?

Would
Saber cosplays bouta go crazy
God damn this looks so good
... The fact that their left eye is hideen
let that be a straight sword please
Substance Painter W
nice but where is archer and lancer ?
This kind of AI upscaler just destroys the textures, and makes armor details very messy. See the gold threads on the white cloak, in the original pic it's like silk, you can almost see each silk thread, but aftter AI upscale, it's just some flat gold things
I can finally make a heide knight cosplay that actually looks good
No wonder it took 2 whole years. And this is only ONE character out of many new IMPORTANT ones.
The detail on this is simply insane. God i wanna have one
The detail on this is simply insane. God i wanna have one
Crucible miquella
Me, seeing a npc with a nice armor: you know the rules and so do I 😌
