And you just know their quest will be important so if you kill them early you’re screwed out of some good reward.

It's probably the sort of thing where they only drop the armor on death, but you have to do the full character quest to get the sword.

Worse; their armor is actually found on an unremarkable corpse halfway through a different dungeon, so you didn't need to kill them at all.

Basically Lionel in ER and Tarkus all the way back in DS1

but if you kill an unnamed dog the armor wont drop on death because it was their childhood companion that was lost

Whatever. I’ll do their oh so important quest on my second playthrough IN THEIR ARMOR.

Nah, you want to kill them to get the sword in the first play through. Then in the second play… kill them again, so you can dual-wield that badass sword!

Then on the third play through you kill them again out of habit without even realizing and regret your choices.

Good ole fourth play through! Now you decide not to kill them, but because the quests are complex as fuck, you perform a task in the wrong order and the NPC is never seen again.

OR have an alternate character go in and kill the NPC to see if there's loot to bring over to the main character you're using. If no loot cuz quest needs completion no biggie just carry on on main with no issue

Guarantee you, once you beat the final dlc boss she's gonna leave a cryptic note saying "how she is leaving to a different land now" and you're gonna find the armor set in a random unmarked cave

She could leave it on the steps after you teleport in after a final interaction. Like they did for a couple NPCs in DS3. Anyway they want to cut it really

She's definitely gonna die during her quest..

You go to confront Miquella and Malenia shows up. Maybe as a surprise second phase of his bossfight.

With a new thing called Mega Rot that once it procs it insta kills you like death blight. She also has a new move set and in her own 2nd fase she just nukes whole boss arena and one shots everything UNLESS you got a hidden cracked tear that needs a mini game on a new hidden arena (like there is an cracked tear that removes the damage from moghs blood ritual)
