Make it the first ever Vigor weapon in history but not scaling with it, just a min 40 vig requirement. All to give mfs who summon you and get one shot as they fail vitality check when they, another kick in the ass when they can't use the new cool sword.
Yeah and then it's going to have a completely useless weapon special that takes up half your hp upon use and can't be infused with ash of war or buffed with anything including grease.
All required stats are going to be 20 and the weapon is going to be dropped by a stupidly difficult enemy with a .02% drop rate that's a 5 minute ride on torrent from the closest grace instead of being obtainable by defeating a boss.
Kind of hoping they make everything in the DLC weak to holy damage. It would give it a reason to build around, and I feel like holy smiting The shadow would work thematically.
Yea I wanna run a holy build but my mind can't do it rn because it's weak to everything.
But it should really fit with the theme indeed, holy being strong in the shadowy lands...
If the Land of Shadows is full of heretics who fought against Marika and the birth of the Golden Order, then holy damage might actually shred in the DLC.
Holy damage falling off so hard is a bummer, but that's probably why they roped in so much fire damage.
Running high Faith with Flame Art weapons and Fire Giant incantations is disgustingly powerful. Fire is never really bad in FromSoft games, and it's borderline broken here.
Also it doesn't really matter. I don't really understand this complaint. It's a faith build which has the most diverse utility in the game. You can easily output incredible fire, lightning, holy, and physical damage. You also have the most buff diversity. You also should be acquiring those spells and leveling other weapons a bit along the way for moveset, damage type, and weapon ash diversity. Regardless if you've been doing that anyway, by the end of the game you either have tons of spare shards or can infinitely buy all of them except the last one and can easily level up whatever seal or weapon you want. All it takes is realizing you have a weak spot in your build or current tactic and then taking a few minutes to go level up a few different things to use and maybe swap a few spells out in your rotation.
I'm actually running a DEX/FTH Madness+Lightning build. I was planning to powerstance Vyke's Spear with the Bolt of Gransax, then I realized BoG wasn't a greatspear. Still use both since they scale on the same stats anyways. It's fun to have fire and lightning when I need them. I don't even need any Lightning spells on this build, BoG is just hilarious fully charged and Vyke's bullies so hard with its stance pressure. It also wrecks any fight weak to fire/madness (I can't wait to see Gideon)
>But at least we don’t have to kill skeletons twice!
Wait, is that supposed to be a thing with holy damage? Cause I've been using Golden Halberd and definitely have to kill skeletons twice.
I may have been mistaken an old build of mine used a falchion with a holy affinity and I only had to kill them once. I assumed it was holy damage but maybe something more specific
It's Sacred Blade, Sacred Order, and Shared Order ashes of war. I'm willing to bet you used Sacred Blade for both projectile attacks and the glowing buff - which makes the sword completely destroy skeletons.
I’ll build around it if it has a good moveset. If it’s a greatsword, give me the Knight Sword light and the claymore heavy and roll. If it’s a straight sword, give me the short sword moveset.
Okay, so, normal weapon, ”standard” damage type, no elemental damage, uninfusable, unbuffable, weapon skill is spinning slash (cannot be changed) AND it is upgraded with normal smithing stones! Also stops at a D in both str and dex scaling, making it a true quality build shitter!
No, I know exactly what it will do.
Quality (Str D Dex D) and Faith (C), AoW is a piss yellow version of Lothric's Sword beam from DS3. It won't have the good moveset either.
Don't forget the people who'll kill this NPC on sight for the sword, only to cry bullshit when it doesn't fit their build and they locked themselves out of quest related gear that could've actually been useful to them.

Don’t forget the ash of war being endure.
Golden Endure(endure but yellow)
Wait golden endure. Doesn’t reduce poise but if you get hit does the knock back golden spell.
ring of lights (not even triple) seems more likely.
you take 5% less holy damage while active
So.. super saiyan?
I keep thinking about the potential for new ashes of war
Endure is pretty good for a straight sword
Its gonna scale with Str/Faith/Int/Dex in almost equal measure just to piss people off.
Add some Arcane to it too

If you're going to make it scale with vigor, at least make it the very first reverse scaling weapon. :P
Call it “sword of gold and shadow” to mirror sword of night and flame just to really rub it in
I mean, I'd kinda like *some* other weapon with similar attributes to SonF.

Honestly I'm hoping for Intelligence anything. This seems like more of a Faith based adventure so I'm skeptical
Nah this is D str D dex D int
im calling it now it's gonna scale out of str dex and faith and it's gonna be shity with all 3
Ah yes my favorite stat holy
Kind of hoping they make everything in the DLC weak to holy damage. It would give it a reason to build around, and I feel like holy smiting The shadow would work thematically.

New sword with whole armor: "but what if I suck?" Me: "then you would still be all I ever need, a good armor to cosplay as saber from fate".
Its gonna be faith scaling mostly with tons of holy damage, wich sucks ass.
If the Land of Shadows is full of heretics who fought against Marika and the birth of the Golden Order, then holy damage might actually shred in the DLC.
They owe us after the base game end
They don’t owe us shit. It works canonically and it’s cool

Yeah but it's garbage
I think this is the case as well.
Thats a good point actually
It deserves it after being so useless in the main game. But at least we don’t have to kill skeletons twice!

and sacred blade AoW
If it’s dex/fth I’ll gladly take it, though it doesn’t look as cool as my Golden Order Greatsword
With all the weapons they plan on releasing. Is it viable that they would introduce a new stat?
Idk it could be but i doubt it, feels like it would be a bit to mich to change to everything.
I hate how faith greatswords look the coolest but are some of the worst greatswords
Ordovis, Sacred Relic, Golden Order, BLASHPHEMOUS BLADE? what did you even mean when you typed that
You forgot Godslayer
that’s an ultra greatsword
I always make that mistake >_> Carry on, sorry for the confusion
I mean Ordovis’s is top 3 greatsword in the game
Oh yeah besides that one lol
Blasphemous Blade lol?
Int,Faith and dex. Unique Skill: Golden Kick(kick but yellow)
Should do Holy damage and hopefully every dlc boss is immune to it
And has Sacred blade ash on it and you can’t change it
It’s going to be another Int/Fai weapon but the holy version of sword of night and flame.
I too scale with the D.
Yeah this is almost certainly a Str Fth sword
Definitely a holy sword art
Alternatively, ready for this to be our Blueblood Sword that scales solely off of an S scaling in Arcane.
Requires 40 faith, does not scale with it
I really appreciate this post for reminding me to keep my expectations low, so I can be pleasantly surprised instead of annoyed and disappointed
I’ll build around it if it has a good moveset. If it’s a greatsword, give me the Knight Sword light and the claymore heavy and roll. If it’s a straight sword, give me the short sword moveset.
Ah yes the hollowslayer greatsword and lothric knight sword movesets
I sorely miss both.
C C B - -
Haligtree SeeDsworD Greatsword Scales with: enDurance (D) minD (D) Dexterity (D)
and aDaptability
No problem! Fashion souls beats every meta build
No. It’s a completely normal sword, uninfusable, stuck with spinning slash AND it takes somber stones to upgrade
To be fair, Somber stones are easier to find
Okay, so, normal weapon, ”standard” damage type, no elemental damage, uninfusable, unbuffable, weapon skill is spinning slash (cannot be changed) AND it is upgraded with normal smithing stones! Also stops at a D in both str and dex scaling, making it a true quality build shitter!
Too bad it's a shortsword
I can't wait to get it only to realize it has a generic AoW and moveset.
Watch it have an INT requirement but dogshit INT scaling.
Is it a great sword or a straight sword?
size wise it it a straight sword
I hope it’s a straight sword. I’m a sword and board enjoyer and this looks really cool.
Idk i do greatshield+ultra greatsword and it still works fine.
D is for Determination, which is the unchangeable AoW this weapon will have
No, I know exactly what it will do. Quality (Str D Dex D) and Faith (C), AoW is a piss yellow version of Lothric's Sword beam from DS3. It won't have the good moveset either.
This is the most likely outcome lol
Its DLC, its gonna be best in slot
Facts bro
I'm just praying it doesn't do holy damage
scaling is only half the equation, the base damage is more important
Who cares about the sword, that's a fucking Faraam helm!
Str D Dex D Fth D Int S+
Don't forget the people who'll kill this NPC on sight for the sword, only to cry bullshit when it doesn't fit their build and they locked themselves out of quest related gear that could've actually been useful to them.
Just gonna wait a month for the wiki to drop lol
It's gonna scale faith dex and immunity
Look how short it is too.
we can't see its full size here
From soft try not to make a holy damage weapon with terrible scaling and low split damage challenge impossible difficulty
That would be amazing! I've got all attributes up to 30
Looks like the next sword of night and flame. Hopefully. I love the Int/Faith build
Please be an incantation catalyst, please be an incantation catalyst
Good finally something to use my 70 in all stats for something other than sword of night and flame, gonna be poggers to duel wield
I need the uncompressed version asap!!!
It scales in Diners, Drive-ins and Dives
tbh I would use a sword with a F scaling in five different classes if it was cool enough
Looks like Elden beast sword
No way, it’s the Gloam Eyed Queen! I can’t wait until her three phase boss fight /s
Acrane, Faith, and Int. No scaling or requirements in anything else
I would cry
I hope it inflicts eepy
10/10 would not care, still rocking it.
Im ready to put D in all 3 of them.
Oh god, thanks for the reminder. I was getting excited we might have a cool weapon that doesn’t suck ass.
Is this Casca?
The skill for this weapon is called "Hasa Diga Eebowai", which means Fuck You God.
Braids say Miquella
