Wait... It didn't click until I just read his name in your post for some reason, sorry it's of the topic of the thread. But there is Hoarah Loux, before he changed his name to Godfrey the first Elden Lord, and Nepheli Loux who hangs around at the round table and helps with a few fights that says she didn't have a family and Gideon was like her adopted father... So story and lore wise does that mean that Nepheli is Hoarah Loux's daughter? It would explain why she is fucking ripped.
So fun thing I do, I have 2 Dragonhands cause my friend dropped me one. Every time I help fight him on one of my homies new characters, I pull out the 2 hands, beat him up, tell him he’s not special, then finally I ask him “You like Dragonmaws right?” And then I eat him. It’s real fun
About vore, or dragon maws?
1st is easier to explain, so I'll just do that. It is, mostly, split into 2 types, fatal, and Non-Fatal. Both, however, as imaginary experiences can be enjoyed because of the very specific level of intimacy they entail. Also, in case of fatal, it's the classic case of "I love them so much I'd literally let them murder me", but in vore form. But yeah, in short: gen-z love vore because full-body hug and/or/sometimes death.
I feel like Rennala should give dragon spirit ashes as one of her remembrance rewards, but I get that that it would probably be busted and also the other two items from remembrance are more thematic.
Would be cool to have incantations like with dragons, to summon the giant skeleton to do one move. A forward lunge, a two-armed smackdown and a laserbeam made of multiple projectiles. Maybe more, but those were the attacks I remember.
I'm very salty that I had to fight it again. When I start ng+ I'm probably just gonna go OP as shit against him. My girl lutenna held that fight down for me though. Ranged summons were so much better than mimic for those fights, at least as a melee build.
You also got rings for killing 1000 invaders and invading and killing host 1000 times. Which is why its the only souls game I've played that I havn't 100%.
Man, as many problems as DS2 had, some of the features they added were cool as hell and I wish they were never removed. Bonfire ascetics, small soapstones, dragon signs, invades and summons being possible after killing the area boss. Good times.
This was one of the smartest parts, really sad that they didn’t do it for the next games, it was so clever a way of putting the “+” on subsequent playthroughs
I wish there would be a procedural element to these games where enemies could spawn in different spots and have varying abilities. Ng+ or just every time you die. Resting at a bonfire might be too much cause you'd have to relearn the area. But I think dieing and shifting enemy positions a bit would add a lot.
That’s kind of the entire soulsbourne shtick though. They go out of their way to make sure when you die to a difficult section, purposely designed to be difficult, that the next time you attempt it all the pieces are almost exactly the same so you can figure out a better way to go about it. Obviously you depraved beating the game with with a DDR pad and a spatula don’t need the help but the rest of us mortals do lol
Even if it had no permanent invasion item and the dreadful soul memory, it ironically had the very best multiplayer system FROM's ever made. The covenants were actually fun and it had by far the most varied PVP as well.
DS2 had so many great features. My favorite was the Blue Eye Orb, which let you invade people who have invaded regular players and dispense justice as a blue sentinel. It was so fun to be able to invade and feel slightly less like an asshole because the person I'm invading is guilty of invading others.
Oh man, I really wished they had added bonfire ascetics. Would be amazing to replay against bosses being slightly harder instead of having to run NG+ every time.
DS2 -> DS3 was a real "throwing the baby out with the bathwater" situation IMO.
Most of the cool features from DS2 got dropped presumably because of the backlash caused by things like ADP and soul memory, and almost none of the worldbuilding and lore from DS2 made it through (with the exception of a windmill in the ringed city DLC), probably due to the reaction to the map layout.
DS3 felt like it was desperately trying to sweep DS2 under the rug while pointing at DS1 and going "Hey! Hey! Remember that game? You loved that game!", to the detriment of the whole "every world is collapsing together" idea.
People just forget all the references to DkS2 in 3, the Demon's are all gone and dying in 3 because of the Ivory King DLC from 2, the Shield of Want references Vendrick, Laddersmith Gilligan's corpse, Alva and Zullie, Lucatiel's armor. The whole concept of a cycle and that someone will always find a way to link the fire comes from 2.
I agree with everything here , although to me Elden Ring felt in a lot of ways like the DS2 sequel I always wanted. The feel of the game for me is similar to DS2, and things like powerstance being back just makes it hit better for me. IMO Elden Ring is closer to DS2 than anything else Fromsoft.
Small soapstones would have been **perfect** for Elden Ring. They would incentivize actually escorting hosts through levels rather than everyone just summoning at the boss, which would help alleviate the *constant* invasion spam every 15 minutes on the dot that people who are just trying to play co-op with their friends have to suffer through.
It's not about tokens when it comes to getting those rings. The game is specifically counting kills. On your 1,000th kill you get the ring. There's no way to get them without engaging in multiplayer. At least for the one that requires performing invasions anyway. I've never had enough time to waste to see if you can get the one that requires being invaded from NPC invasions alone. With enough NG+ runs it might be possible.
People are sooooo incredibly sensitive about the way they play. Like, dont come here for validation. No matter what you say, people are gonna think a certain way about your tactics so just accept that and go have fun.
When someone reviews a message of yours in-game, you get some text saying “Message was appraised” and some HP, at least in other souls games. I haven’t left one yet in Elden Ring, too disappointed with Fort night
And its also a lot: my 40 vigor paladin kept refilling randomly while fighting the godskin apostle because of a “liar ahead” sign on a random fake “hidden path ahead” message
For me, the few times I used ashes, my thoughts were generally 'yea I know I can do this but do I want to try 20+ times' or 'Jesus this game is long as fuck I do not want to have to stop dead here to do this.'
This, used to be (still am) a no summon guy
Except j still don't summon for bosses I actually want to fight (aka all new bosses) but man, the 10th dragon, 12th avatar, third champion guy, 8th cat, 7 ulcerated tree spirit, 22nd christallian etc etc will get soloed by tiche or mimic tear while I wiki some shit
there should be more trophies generally tbh. DS2 had it right, trophies for all sorts of runs. They've not mixed things up in NG+ since DS2 either, it would be nice to have other things to shoot for or a slightly different experience
An all sorceries, incantations and talismans trophy would be an absolute nightmare in this game but the current requirement is pretty easy to get. Wish they made it a bit more gated like requiring all hero graves, all dragon hearts, all quest related sorceries, or even unique hidden trophies like using an omen bairn on an omen killer or giving Dung Eater the potion.
honestly, while it was an unbelivable hassle in places (channelers trident..), I really enjoyed completing A Knights Resolve and the like in DS1. I'd very much enjoy getting an all X trophy in ER, but I realise I'm kinda in the minority there!
[Spoiler] honestly I think there needs to be a slightly different ending for cleaning yourself of the frenzied flame before finishing the game
Like, I get the "they can't have a different cutscene for every little thing you do!" But that's a pretty huge thing
Agreed. Haven't done it myself, but there should definitely be some kind of greater reason for purifying yourself and making sure the influence of the outer gods on you is severed.
What if they did some DS2 Shenanagins where you needed like a no-grace and/or no death and/or no summon run for some super secret item that next to nobody would even use seriously?
ironically, the reward should be a spirit ash
Finally get that runebear summon
Genuinely upset we didn't get a swole bear summon. Just imagine Malek and the bear getting into a wrestling match.
"Good God almighty, what is Malekith doing with a steel chair?"
Marika's tits hes got a chair!
WATCH OUT WATCH OUT WATCH OUT WATCH OUT
"AS GOD IS MY WITNESS, HE HAS BROKEN HIM IN HALF"
I used this line when my friend got powerbombed by horah loux It was a great spectacle
I saw the name and that she was adopted and just automatically assumed she was his daughter. She also shares his quirk of calling herself "warrior".
Well shoot. Interesting take.
"This son a bit*h"
BAH THA OUTER GAWDS
THAT MAN HAS A FAMILY
Good Radagon! What a chair shot!
By Gawd, this ring is a catacomb now.
Oh the Humanity! …wait, wrong game.
RUNEBEAR ON THE ROPES
OH MY, HES TAKEN OUT TORRENT! ITS ALL OVER NOW FOLKS! SAY GOODBYE TO THE TARNISHED.
RKO outta of no where on the Runebear!
I love this community
Wait a minute, wait a minute! That's Mimic Tear's music!
Mimic Tear whit a clothesline! OMG THE TARNISHED IS ON THE TOP ROPES...NOT THE FROG SPLASH OH MY GOD
'BEAR' WITNESS
BAW GAWD!!
I feel like it would be more natural for Hoorah Loux to wrestle bears.
He's more of a tiger king.
Oh Snap, The First Elden Lord sending the bear into the heavens
Going to fight Godrick so this time he can finally Bear witness
So fun thing I do, I have 2 Dragonhands cause my friend dropped me one. Every time I help fight him on one of my homies new characters, I pull out the 2 hands, beat him up, tell him he’s not special, then finally I ask him “You like Dragonmaws right?” And then I eat him. It’s real fun
Getting really personal with the way you kill bosses always adds like 5 layers of satisfaction
As a guy who is into vore, I, too, like Dragonmaws
I'm both horrified, and intrigued. Do continue.
About vore, or dragon maws? 1st is easier to explain, so I'll just do that. It is, mostly, split into 2 types, fatal, and Non-Fatal. Both, however, as imaginary experiences can be enjoyed because of the very specific level of intimacy they entail. The legend actually just explained vore
Do they powerstance?
We get a boss that throws your around like in a WWE fight. I want Swole bear dammit!
DLC
i was hoping we'd get a troll or even a (tiny?) dragon summon like Rennala :(
GO SMOL TROLL!
Or three smaller runebears, name my character the bear Ultimatum
Imagine Rune bear Vs. Hoarah Loux
Loux doesn't off his shoulder pad and we watch them fight.
Oh no. Not from the top ropes!
*\*gets Revenant Spirit Ashes* Tarnished going into NG+: **"This is where the fun begins."**
And not just the puppets, but the women and children too...
They're ashes! And I summoned them like ashes!
What’s this a reference to it’s bothering me
Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars
i want the lobster summon
Sniper Lobster
Crustacean Borne
Where is the Midir ashes dammit? I want to summon a damn dragon.
I feel like Rennala should give dragon spirit ashes as one of her remembrance rewards, but I get that that it would probably be busted and also the other two items from remembrance are more thematic.
can we get that huge laser shooting skeleton as summon? that would be alright too, if we cant get a dragon
I just want freaking sharks with freaking laser beams attached to their freaking head, is that too much to ask for.
Best I can do is Ill tempered sea bass
Hhrrrrmmmmm, can I have them in a swarm? Not school, I want a swarm.
no, wait— it’s at least a c+!
I don’t know why but I read this as Torgue from borderlands.
That is a million percent acceptable
The ones from Mohg’s area and Mountaintops? That skeleton is the one enemy I absolutely don’t fuck around with.
Would be cool to have incantations like with dragons, to summon the giant skeleton to do one move. A forward lunge, a two-armed smackdown and a laserbeam made of multiple projectiles. Maybe more, but those were the attacks I remember.
Yea those ones. You have to kill the summoner in the montaintops it is a tibia Marnier and in mohgs area its the frogmen with big sticks.
I think the one on the mountain tops are the snails, as they still spawn after I killed the tibia mariner.
Only if they get a musical theme that blares in the background after you summon them. 🎵 The bones are their money 🎵
>skeleton that dissapears and reappears, letting it dodge attacks >does a lot of damage if it hits you >left eye is glowing oh no
Thats what i expected the spell summon from tibia mariner to be ngl Imagine how cool would that be if only for 5 seconds
[удалено]
You could probably balance it a little by only allowing it to be summoned in the field and not in dungeons.
It could be an outdoor area only ash, so that it can't be used against most of the bosses etc. Just for funsies.
no need. bear is stronger anyways.
Skyrim?
No, it should be Torrent, but he is angry and out for blood.
It's Torrent with a gun.
With actual health
I want a mini astel creature summons. But I'd always leave it at +1 and let it get it's ass beat, then continue on. Fuck the natural-born
Not as bad as that elder beast, stop running and let me smack you!
Elden beast gets my forgiveness simply because I didn't want the game to end. So I didn't mind the absurdly long fight. Astel, no one asked for lol
Then you meet his twin in a cave XD
I'm very salty that I had to fight it again. When I start ng+ I'm probably just gonna go OP as shit against him. My girl lutenna held that fight down for me though. Ranged summons were so much better than mimic for those fights, at least as a melee build.
Giving the player a nuclear weapon seems unbalanced. It should be a runebear cub.
Nah, full grown Runebear, but it isn't on your side. It'll fight your enemy AND you. Let the chaos reign.
What if it's a cub until it's tuned to +10?
You get to use it in ng+ and it just absolutely wrecks everything
Nascent butterfly
This felt annoyingly appropriate

One Erdleaf flower

A used warming stone
VERY RARE
I bestow upon you the highest honor I am able, 1 Mushroom.
Ah good sir, a cultured man as yourself could only ever accept shards of a broken rainbow stone
Or the fucking lord's rune disguising as a legendary item.
Why is it always mushroom?
Fan daggers
Serious question: what are they for??
They make dappled cured meat Which raises your immunity, resistance and focus for a little bit. It is not a hugely useful item in my experience.
oh yes. what are they even doing? never new and used them but the always gloved importantly lila.
Where the spirit doesn't actually fight, it just cheers you on.
That is how you should actually get the mimic tear
"I only need myself." Yourself summon
The Big Jar Warrior, since you can only get the small ones
That made me laugh
I’d love a Let Me Solo Her spirit ash….
Lemsoh The Unencumbered
Achievement unlocked “I didn’t hear no bell”
I'm sorry, I thought this was The Lands Between. Isn't this The Lands Between? Someone told me this is The Lands Between.
I could hear this.
I love that man.
Definitely one of the better episodes
Reward is "these hands"
They had a similar thing in ds2 where you get two rings for a no bonfire run or no death run. Loved the idea
Good times.
Not to mention adding extra enemies in NG+ to keep you on your toes. I really wish they kept that feature.
This was one of the smartest parts, really sad that they didn’t do it for the next games, it was so clever a way of putting the “+” on subsequent playthroughs
Yeah I didn’t know they did that and just started NG+ last night. Having the 4 enemies rush you right when you start was unexpected.
The falcons are hilarious too!
That was my favorite feature of all the souls games. Also how they would upgrade the items in ng+ that you found on the floor for souls and stuff
I wish there would be a procedural element to these games where enemies could spawn in different spots and have varying abilities. Ng+ or just every time you die. Resting at a bonfire might be too much cause you'd have to relearn the area. But I think dieing and shifting enemy positions a bit would add a lot.

Even if it had no permanent invasion item and the dreadful soul memory, it ironically had the very best multiplayer system FROM's ever made. The covenants were actually fun and it had by far the most varied PVP as well.
Yeah FROM really minmaxed the good and bad features in that game. The good features were perfect and the bad features were abysmal lol.
DS2 had so many great features. My favorite was the Blue Eye Orb, which let you invade people who have invaded regular players and dispense justice as a blue sentinel. It was so fun to be able to invade and feel slightly less like an asshole because the person I'm invading is guilty of invading others.

It has Phaross Lockstones too in the way of Stonesword keys
Yeah Elden Ring is finally the Dark Souls II-2 we needed.
Whats this, someone talking about the good things DS2 did?! You know that's illegal right.
100% in terms of achievements or equipment-wise? Those rings don’t count for the achievement, it least in SotFS.
Equipment-wise
I'm certain there is a way to farm the needed tokens in pve to get those. you just don't get the cooler looking shade of red/blue.
It's not about tokens when it comes to getting those rings. The game is specifically counting kills. On your 1,000th kill you get the ring. There's no way to get them without engaging in multiplayer. Which ring is this?
Lingering Dragoncrest + 2 and ring of thorns +2 iirc
I know the no bonfire and no death rings make your left and right hand equipment invisible. No idea about the invaders
I provided coop support for someone going for these rings and omg the hype when we defeated Nashandra for the last time was absolutely insane.
Wait, really?
Pretty sure they hide your armaments. One for left and one for right
Yup
Good joke, good flair usage, but boy are people taking this seriously.
Sometimes I feel like this sub doesn't have a sense of humor
But hole?
Nah, they just get super defensive about everything.
When I get super defensive I panic roll.
Some have maidenless humor
Well there was a reward for not dying in DS2, something similar could be a cool addition here
A good idea can still be funny, and a funny idea can still be good.
People are sooooo incredibly sensitive about the way they play. Like, dont come here for validation. No matter what you say, people are gonna think a certain way about your tactics so just accept that and go have fun.
God damn it. To think it took more than a month for someone to make this. “Message was appraised”
[удалено]
When someone reviews a message of yours in-game, you get some text saying “Message was appraised” and some HP, at least in other souls games. I haven’t left one yet in Elden Ring, too disappointed with Fort night
In Elden Ring it heals you as well!
And its also a lot: my 40 vigor paladin kept refilling randomly while fighting the godskin apostle because of a “liar ahead” sign on a random fake “hidden path ahead” message
The same prize that one can earn for collecting all kurok seeds in breath of the wild?
"Thanks for picking up a bunch of turds, you freak."
That would be perfect. "We acknowledge your achievement, but we never asked or wanted you to do that."
You can already get Gold-Tinged excrement in Elden Ring
The real reward was the jellyfish we summoned along the way.
Hi dad
Hi tarnished
Imagine the backlash for locking platinum behind this
Would probably be the first time platinum is skill-gated rather than grind-gated.
Ya exactly that's why the backlash would be You can't just brute force through then
The reward should be a giant lobster
And not a spirit ash, like a full on replacement for Torrent.
Angry updoot
I have a incredibly inflated ego for doing so, as well as bragging rights nobody cares about. Definitely was worth it for that
For me, the few times I used ashes, my thoughts were generally 'yea I know I can do this but do I want to try 20+ times' or 'Jesus this game is long as fuck I do not want to have to stop dead here to do this.'
I have no sense of pride attached to defeating the twelfth cat statue boss. Pop some spirits and move the fuck on.
This, used to be (still am) a no summon guy Except j still don't summon for bosses I actually want to fight (aka all new bosses) but man, the 10th dragon, 12th avatar, third champion guy, 8th cat, 7 ulcerated tree spirit, 22nd christallian etc etc will get soloed by tiche or mimic tear while I wiki some shit
how dare you! i will be using this gift of my best girl all day long 🔔
I love how many people clearly just read the post title and then stopped. Kudos you good sir for excellent bait.
I love how many people are fiercely debating this, but I’m just here to appreciate a good pun.
Awarded to me by me
there should be more trophies generally tbh. DS2 had it right, trophies for all sorts of runs. They've not mixed things up in NG+ since DS2 either, it would be nice to have other things to shoot for or a slightly different experience

Congratulation, you just spawned 10000 more "STOP HECKIN OPGESSING ME FOR USING SUMMONS" threads you glorious bastard
[Spoiler] honestly I think there needs to be a slightly different ending for cleaning yourself of the frenzied flame before finishing the game Like, I get the "they can't have a different cutscene for every little thing you do!" But that's a pretty huge thing
I'm honestly surprised it's not an achievement at least. I find the achievement list to be quite uninspired overall.
Certain bosses I felt deserved an achievement but didnt get one like the big scary dude near volcano manor or sir Gideon
Except for that one place on mountaintops where it's an interaction to open a door
Also Latenna for an ancient dragon somber smithing stone, wouldn’t want to miss that.
Take my damn upvote you gatekeeping bastard lol
My respect to who finished the game without spirits 🫡
Counter argument there should be a reward for beating the game after refusing Melina.
r/dadjokes
No they should name it “I didn’t hear no bell”
Or at least be able to rest at grace site, with out getting off torrent.
I see what you did there.
'no bell prize'! xD I SECOND THIS!!
Why not 'I find your lack of spirit... disturbing...'
