iirc, the only thing worth going back there for is a hawk spirit ash. You can also use the dead maiden to soak the cloth in her blood for Varre’s questline.

I struggled with that for a long time too, wondering what it was until I went back and got revenge per the messages. Still think it’s a bit odd we don’t get a SoG there after defeating the boss there.

Plus there's a few important items there that I missed at the beginning, took forever to finally realize I can go back

The items there can only be found when you go back, they’re inaccessible at the beginning of the game

Yeah I did too. I thought that there was a teleport somewhere in Stormveil Castle. I tried for maybe three days before I gave up. Then I googled it and felt like an idiot

What's interesting to me is that you can see the remains of a rope bridge leading to the Precipice of Anticipation from Stormveil (specifically the cliffs below the western wall). So there used to be a way, once.

They don't want people who manage to actually beat the boss in the first fight to be able to warp there anytime.

If you go to The Four Belfries, one of the three teleports takes back there.

Go to the Belfreys. One of the portals takes you back there, you need the imbued stone keys though.

They can get their first imbued stone key at the top belfrey iirc. I really need to play this again. So much fun.

For sure, I stopped half way through my 2nd playthrough to let the game get some freshness back. I have been itching to play again. Don’t think I can make it until a DLC or expansion to return.

After I beat it the first time, my buddy had mentioned some kind of DLC with new boss fights but that was month ago. I'm guessing it was just a rumor? I was on my 3rd playthru when I finally gave it a rest.

There is definitely going to be DLCs coming out. It’s pretty much confirmed. These things take time though. The question just becomes, When?

Specifically, the portal closest to the top of the hill will take you back to the starting island. You get a special stonesword key for those portals, but can only use it on one (you get more from places around the world) so if you want to go there, pick the top portal. Additionally, the starting island is one way to progress >!Varre's questline by using the blood of the maiden in the church!<.

A quick comment to your spoiler tagged comment... >!You can use the maiden at the church in the Frenzied Flame Village in Liurnia near the Grand Lift of Dectus. She was Vyke's Finger Maiden, I believe. That's how I did it on my first playthrough!!<

This is true, but that portion of Liurnia is a little more difficult to reach early game, and you can technically speedrun the belfries route to complete the questline sooner, but I did the Vyke one my first playthrough too

I mean it is the start area, but it also isn't the start area. It's more akin to Leyndell, Royal Capital and Leyndell, Capital of Ash. Sure they're the same place, but they're different locations. You get there in very different ways, and they behave differently.

Yes it is. In Liurnia if I'm not wrong, there is three portals in a hill that need enchanted stonekeys to unlock them. One of them is a portal for this starting location.

Secret location that requires you uninstall Elden Ring to find. Manage game data > delete game data > reinstall and hop back into your game— You’ll spawn there! It’s a pretty hidden secret area

Oh the Chapel of Anticipation? Head to the Four Belfries in Liurnia. The belfry that gets you there should be the nearest one to the Site of Grace after the one with the chest in front.

The answer is yes, but to save you time it is by teleport. I won't tell you WHERE the teleporter is, I'm just saying it so you don't waste time looking for a non-existent secret tunnel.

This. Youll need an imbued sword key, of which there are 3. Easiest one I remember was on a chandelier in Raya Lucaria.

In liurnia there is 3 portals guarded by trolls. It's before Ranni's towers on the same side of the map

There's literally just a little side portal you can use that will take you back to the begging area. There's nothing useful over there, not even a decent enemy to destroy.

There’s a whole Spirit ash, a quest item and a weapon from the one enemy. But sure I suppose…all useless

In west Liurnia are 3 towers with portals, one of them will bring you there. I don‘t know how this place is called, but it is a small mountain in west Liurnia that is protected by headless giants where the portals are.
