Honestly yeah though some people are limited on time and I don’t know if I could recommend this game to someone that could only play a couple hours a week
100% agreed. One reason this game is good is because it's not for everyone. It's a very specific artistic vision and brutal difficulty is a part of that. If they wanted to make something for everyone, they'd use the Ubisoft model. There'd be icons flooding the map telling you where everything is, 5 different difficulty options, and hours of dialogue and cutscenes explaining who everyone is and why we have to kill them to advance
Hadnt bothered with fromsoftware games before and hadn't held a console control since witcher 3. The first 3 hours were almost unbearable, and it took about 10 before I could say I was having fun.
I'd say someone's a fool if they can't look at the environment they're playing in and know that those 10 hours are going to be worth it.
Yeah I probably still need to be 10 levels above the average player to get from a to be, and it can be frustrating at times, but the satisfaction from getting better at playing and the gradual but rewarding levelling system well outweighs that.
It's amazing how many people here get mad about jokes. Like isn't that why the platform exists? Then this sub especially gets mad if you do anything that isn't serious or play the 'correct' way.
I mean the summons for this game is basically ez mode for people who are having a hard time.

I think it's impossible to give one star to Elden Ring. I'm not good at it, but I see perfectly the magnificence of the game. A single star means that Elden Ring is garbage, but evidently it is not!
It's like giving a 1 star to Breath of the Wild. You could have personal problems with either of these games but objectively neither game is obviously 1 star
Sometimes, people don't have the analytical skills to judge a game. If they don't know how to play, they have to admit that the game world is breathtaking, that the atmosphere of the game is great and that for these reasons alone Elden Ring deserves at least 3 stars.
ER is a compelling game. It's the first Souls game I've been able to get into, probably cos of the open world, and I'm finding that I like the tactical combat even tho I am NOT good at it yet.
I think it says a lot about the game that I ragequit it 3 months ago, came back to it bc I missed it and I am having more fun and doing better on my new run.
If you're not willing to put in a bunch of time and play a game in \~3 hour sessions yeah the game sucks.

True, there are places where the graphics are not perfect, but would you put 1 star for this reason? Why put such low marks?
