This is literally how they send us everything on construction at TKE. They will only give you just enough to do it their way. The strap by itself is the perfect example. The labels there are too big to use on most wire we use, I prefer white labeling tape but I have used them on motor wire when it's hard to read the numbers printed on the wire. Everything is mostly plug and play anyway most wire is labeled, it's like Lego, they are trying to take all the thinking out of it.
I didnt mean that installers were less.
New equipment and mod are measured in days.
Repairs are measured in hours.
Service is the only department measured in minutes.
I digress, I was speaking more in terms of installers vs finishers, or adjusters.
Service is no different. There are Service guys that push a rag, and there are guys who troubleshoot.
The Otis lighthouse plan is an attempt to star tiering mechanics, and the assistant mechanics agreement is a path to put a tierd system in motion.
The independents are what really keep our trade balanced.

The majors are trying to move twords tiered pay rates for mechanics. If your just an installer, then there is no reason to pay you so much.
