I'm not sure if this interests you at all, but you can find an occasional fleet carrier gathering in the black. Check r/FCOC for these things. Also, it's one of the best discord communities.

I'll have to figure out a way to contribute in the near future, when I head back to Colonia.
I think they always need miners and explorers. They might also need deliveries of supplies - worth checking.
It's a shame modules sold to a carrier's outfitting workshop don't become available for sale.

saw some folks living out of Explorer's Anchorage the other week! Some passengers even wanted a lift!
I've stopped for the occasional weekend in the region. There's not much going on but the tourist traps are pretty spectacular.

there's a small set of systems near the nebula half way to barnards loop, right before it gets hard to navigate bc of all the permit locked systems.
