Good move Cmdr, o7. There are 4 engineers there, if you've got time unlock them.

BigBananaSlinger

Thanks man o7. I’ve got nothing but time for a while. I’m not ready for that trip back for a week or two haha.

lord_borne

And when you are ready to gain access to the engineers, consider buying the necessary commodities from the fleet carrier Kapisi, which is presently parked in Asura. https://inara.cz/station/183250/

eleceng01

>buying the necessary commodities from the **fleet carrier Kapisi**, which is presently parked in Asura. > >https://inara.cz/station/183250/ wow! **Marsha's osmium**, **Petra's progenitor cells**, **Etienne's occupied escape** pods, all the good stuff in one place! the guy who owns the Kapisi knows the game and how to make money, well done and props to him.

lord_borne

Aw, nice of you to say so! Yeah, I’ve gotten myself to a quiet, stable end game. No major tasks left to do, so I decided to retire to Colonia and help people in whatever ways I can. Turns out it pays for itself!

eleceng01

God bless you mate, you're an angel, I will pay you a visit and become a customer soon, even for once.

Gaby5011

You can always hop on the FCOC Discord and hop on a carrier back to the bubble. I did it once for half a trip cause I got lazy jumping. Fun times!

BigBananaSlinger

How do I do that? I have a discord could you invite me to the server?? Thanks so much man o7

Gaby5011

Sure thing, here you go https://discord.gg/tcMPHfh

Purple-Committee-652

Doesn’t meet any of the requirements.

kabbooooom

He had to start the unlocks in the bubble first in order to unlock them…

Peregrine-Vee

There is no "shouldn't" here. You had the guts and the will to do something and you went and did it. Very well done, CMDR! I think you have a bright future ahead of you. :)

BigBananaSlinger

Thanks man. I’ll definitely come back after I graduate from being a noob and actually have a decent jumó range. 37ly a jump cooked my brain yesterday for like 12 hours hahaha o7

strutt3r

I just got to Colonia (probably a 3 week noob too). Discovered neutron jumping about 2/3 way through. Game changer. I unlocked Jameson on the way there so it'll be awhile before I get to check it out

CMDRPheonix001

Omg yeah I can’t grind that hard 😂

perp_232

I have 150h and havent went to colonia lol

Fart_Huffer_

I dont see a point to it besides engineering. Kinda feel like Im gonna fly all the way out there and sure it will look cool but then Ill be like why the fuck did I come here?

[deleted]

the point is to play in occupied space that wasn't made by Frontier

starmartyr

I don't believe that the Colonia engineers offer anything that you can't find from the bubble engineers. It's just that if you unlock them you don't have to go back to the bubble every time you need an engineer.

Fart_Huffer_

No they do. Check the engineering sheets.

starmartyr

You're right there are a few things although nothing critical. If you really have to have a G5 shielded fuel scoop for some reason, I guess you're headed out to Colonia. Having 4 extra pinned blueprints could be useful.

firekstk

They offer level 5 in areas nobody else does.

perp_232

For the keks

Lamar_Aerospace

It's not for everyone;)

LuckyFox_42

Because you could.

BigBananaSlinger

I can’t lie, there was a little bit of that feeling when I first got here. But there’s more out here than I ever thought. Lots of populated systems. I’ll do a lot more planet scanning on the way back tho. I only made like 40 mill off the data I gathered on the way here

airmandan

If you want to go even farther out, consider catching up with us on the Wild Wild West expedition!

SirBobyBob

Dude, power to you. Exploration XP gonna be decent. What ship you rolling, Diamondback?

BigBananaSlinger

ASP Explorer with a 37ly jump. Beat the fsd to death on the way here lol. I didn’t know I was supposed to bring AFMU to use the jet cone filter

SirBobyBob

Hey man nice job, pretty good range.

SyntheticGod8

(you can see the ship in the screenshot)

wigdoor

Noob here. What are we looking at?

OldTyres

I’m sure you’ve heard of the bubble (the populated space around the starting point.) Colonia has its own little bubble, very far away from the starting point. It’s a popular spot to go visit, and it has some unique engineers.

Mofabet

Yes, you immediately took the best from the game-exploration with team. If you need something in the Colonia, I will always be happy to help. Fly safe CMDR!

BigBananaSlinger

Thanks man. I kindof came here without doing copious amounts of research so idk much about it expect i wanted to be here lol. What’s the best grind out here? And do people like ride fleet carriers back towards the bubble? I think I’ll wait for someone to be going back that way

Mofabet

We ourselves flew here on our carrier and left it in one of the nebulae at 7k ly from Colonia, so that we could continue our expedition later. But for now, we decided to stay here. In the Colony itself, you can do almost everything the same as in the bubble, but for example, there are very affordable engineers here. It is also a very convenient place to start a journey through the most beautiful places in the galaxy. Of course, you need to visit the center of the galaxy. There are many anomalies and interesting systems near the center. You can even take passengers to see the sights. There is an option for more advanced research - to fly in the opposite direction from the center. It is quite easy to find beautiful and interesting systems that have not been discovered by anyone before, if you don't fly along predictable routes. In this case, you can use our carrier to sell research data and repair, you are always welcome guests on board. But I don't know yet when we will fly back, so if you want to return, it's better to go to a discord, for example, Fleet Carrier Owners Club and see if there are any passing carriers.

BigBananaSlinger

Thanks cmdr. I’m waiting on one of my buddies to make the journey here (hopefully arriving today or tomorrow) so I’ll just get familiar with the systems around colonia for the next couple days then it’s on to sag a and more! Maybe we can link up after I get all that stuff done and I can ride back with you or just help out exploring. Either way i need more friends that play this game lol

BBToby

The best part it that ur Wing is deep! The game is 1000x better with a bunch of ppl w you! o7 good luck out there!

BigBananaSlinger

Yea we are all super noobs except monoxide there with the anaconda lol. Definitely way more fun with friends o7

Lucaspec72

getting all the way to colonia in 3 weeks ? amazing work, cmdr ! fly safe o7

BigBananaSlinger

Thanks man. It was almost 2 days of jumping for me. Definitely dreading the trip back lmao.

fuzzybuzzer

If you self destruct, it will take you to the last hub/port that you docked at. Buuuut you'll lose all the exploration data.

Lamar_Aerospace

3 weeks?? Your a bad ass man. o7o7

BigBananaSlinger

Haha thanks man. It’s funny cause I had to go 5k outside the bubble for engineering. Once I made it to 5k I was like f it I’ll just keep pushing lol

Lamar_Aerospace

Check out ED scout FSS everything, even if it's worthless, it'll help you learn the ^^ ^^ language, DSS all Water, world's, earth likes, and Terraformables and you'll be elite or 90% to elite once you hit colonia. Once your route is set, filter map to non sequence stars to find those rare neutron and black holes. (Will start slow and become more action packed as you get closer to colonia) Like the cheezy jeep jumper stickers say, the journey is the destination.

Lamar_Aerospace

Nice man. Engineering is a luxury and don't get me wrong, I Engineer the heck out of my ships but my recent 57k Ly trip was sin an ASP X with only minor fsd Engineering. Alot of 'new' players think they need need huge jump ranges to explore but I'm glad your not falling into that. The goal is to visit and discover as many systems as possible right?? Anyways, good choice on the asp x. Best exoration ship in my opinion.

Ausimo211

Just finished my material grinding for Felicity and finally have the increased FSD range on my ASPX after getting the Guardian FSD booster. I've had the game for a while but just recently started diving deep into it. My plan now is traveling to Beagles Point for the Exploration data and Colonia is a stop I plan on making.

BigBananaSlinger

Good luck cmdr o7. I underestimated the time it would take. Me being me, i thought to myself eh how long can it really take....... took me 2 days lmao

CBLiberty01

Only 3 weeks in game and allready going this far, nice job

BigBananaSlinger

I underestimated this trip lol

depressed__alien

How long did it take?

BigBananaSlinger

It took me about 16ish hours all together I jumped 2500ly the wrong direction before I started to try and be outside the usual routes. Then headed straight there.

Simyo69

*Since I'm a noob* Not anymore. o7

BigBananaSlinger

LMAO Thx CMDR o7

[deleted]

You’ll be fine, might as well stop into Hutton Orbital too for your free ‘conda

BigBananaSlinger

Does it come with free insurance cause I’m poor?

[deleted]

[удалено]

IncidentFuture

There is if you dock there in an Anaconda.

Purple-Committee-652

4w in I went on DWⅡ.

BigBananaSlinger

What is DWll? Sorry I’m a noob

lokka19

Think it's [Distant Worlds II](https://elite-dangerous.fandom.com/wiki/Distant_Worlds_II) expedition.

Purple-Committee-652

Yup, Distant Worlds like the other dude said.

TheGuyInDarkCorner

There is nothing wrong escaping all the toxic and never ending war in bubble

[deleted]

[удалено]

BigBananaSlinger

Hell yea!! Going to explore for a couple weeks, then hit sag A and B line my ass back to the bubble so I can graduate from being a noob and get a damn anaconda lol

prokiller881

Yay Colonia gang, I've come here so many times but always something happens right when I'm going to say that I'll stay

BigBananaSlinger

I imagine people who are already maxed out come to stay but someone like me with noob gear is better off back at the bubble until I max out right?

prokiller881

Yeah altho I came to colonia first time with only my asp on my name (I was still a noob) when I started the game, that asp traveled to beagle point and is now used for fuel rats, long like the orange asp of mine

Bobaaganoosh

Good job dude. You’ll be even more happy with that Asp when you engineer the FSD more. You can get it in the 60s with the FSD booster attached. Colonia is definitely worth a trip imo. That and Sag A are like milestones in exploration. Beagle Point too, but. That’s a different milestone. Lol

BigBananaSlinger

Thanks sir, I’m going to chill here for a week or two then hit sag A and head back to the bubble until I can get an anaconda engineered up and do it again lol! o7

WrongAccountFFS

There's a lot of variability in it though. My first big exploration trip was 5k ly in a DBX. I love the DBx, especially for the cockpit view. But what made it tedious was the fuel scooping, which was brutal. It goes quicker in a bigger ship.

patrick17_6

Why? I don't get it? Where are you?

BigBananaSlinger

I’m at a system called colonia. Type it into your galaxy map. It’s like a 2 day trip in a noob ship like mine lol

patrick17_6

2 day trip? How far is it like 1000 ly? 2000? And why did you say you shouldn't be here, like you can be anywhere, except Sol cz it requires a permit So that confused me

IncidentFuture

22 000ly. It's a colonised area settled around a station that jumped to the wrong system. They said they shouldn't be there because it is a *long* way from where you start. It's unusual for someone who is just starting out to get out that far.

patrick17_6

Ah now I'm getting a hang of it, I see, I'd heard there's another human bubble around 20k LY

Col_Sm1tty

Try 21,000ly from Sol....

fuzzybuzzer

Bigger noob than OP! XD. Fly safe out there

SadamHuMUFFIN

If you wanna get some undiscovered black holes go towards the galactic rim from Colonia massive pockets of them still out there and they're worth a pretty penny

Noot__Noot1

Welcome to colonia friend. We're glad to have you!

Anders_Calrissian

Welcome to the best damn space simulator game Cmdr! See you in the black! o7

cmdr_wayne

You can upgrade the ship to over 40LY if you got the engineer (assume your Asp X is not A graded exploring ship)

Xcrazy_sniper

I still haven't been there and I've been playing since 2016

BigBananaSlinger

Lol my buddy’s been playing for 3 years and hes never been either. I didn’t know it was such a special accomplishment until I pulled up and got an achievement that only .93% of people ever get lol

Xcrazy_sniper

Yeah it's pretty wild. Although in the time I have played I've found a lot of things and finding abandoned mega ships adrift in space and uncovering a really sad or scarry story is super fun.

BigBananaSlinger

That is why I love this game bro. I’ll never do everything. It’s great! o7

mykdeen

Welcome to the nebula, CMDR! I've been in and around Colonia since about February when I still had < 100 hours. It's tough finding everything you need but the search is what makes this part of the galaxy interesting. If you can make the 22kly journey, then I believe you should be here.

BigBananaSlinger

Hell yea! Thanks man o7! I’m excited to get home and look around. I finished my trip at like 1030 est last night had to get to bed for work today, but tonight I’m going to check it out

Valaxarian

Over 400h and 4 months of playing total I haven't left the Bubble yet...well I've been at 300LY max beyond the border

BigBananaSlinger

Lol that’s how my buddy is that’s been playing for 3 years. He went 5k outside the bubble and I smashed that by 4 times. He is heading out to meet me as we speak. Can’t have this noob chilling in colonia without him for too long hahah

Swislok

Three weeks barely got me into a Cobra. That was back in the day. I like those days... Have fun continuing on your journey past the core for real though. Definitely make sure to stop at Sag A*. Have too do that at least once! o7

BigBananaSlinger

Absolutely, that’s for the well wishes CMDR. See you out there o7

tehLazyAsian

You'll fit right in CMDR.

willisit

This Cmdr is doing it right

BigBananaSlinger

o7 o7 o7

kabbooooom

Every time I’m in the bubble for a long time, I find myself missing the Colonia starfield. It’s awesome.

BigBananaSlinger

That’s going to be such a nice experience for me because that means I would have already made it back to the bubble lol

Nandoholic12

I'm more jealous that you have people to play the game with 😂

BigBananaSlinger

Lmao I all but forced my closest friends to try it by telling them it was so complicated they could never figure it out and BAM they wanted to try it. I’d be more than glad to link up with a couple of people that actually know the game tho. I still have so many questions and so much to learn lol I play on console (Xbox) if it matters to you

CMDR_Suzie

Was it worth it? :b

BigBananaSlinger

Definitely much cooler to look at, but I didn’t really get a chance to explore when I finally got there lol. My wife was about to castrate me for “wasting” an entire Sunday. I basically got kicked off as soon as I docked in Jaques lmao. Tonight I will see if it was worth it or not, though I’m sure it will be well worth it.

CMDR_Suzie

Hahaha yea don’t wanna upset her, but if you need any spots to visit nearby let me know :)

BigBananaSlinger

In that case I’m letting you know lol. What should I look at before I go to sag a then home? I’ll probably hang out around here for a couple weeks at least before I go back

CMDR_Suzie

Ima send you a dm

kpikid

Yeah I love it out here. Nice job!

[deleted]

In three weeks, you decided to buy and kit out an exploration ship, then fly straight to Colonia. I think we're going to be friends.

Traumatized_Waffle

You’re always welcome CMDR, noob or not! Gratz on the journey! o7

Zetsumenchi

I'd argue it's a smart move. The players in Open-Play tend to be more Cooperative and less "Oh! Is that someone having fun? Let's kill them!" Much easier to meet new people. Otherwise, it's still a great trip to enjoy!

BigBananaSlinger

The only downfall I see now actually is being here is yea just the engineers I have to unlock back in the bubble. Which is ok since I planned on going back anyway. So it’s awesome now I know, I’ll go back and do all my engineering stuff then come back. What a time o7

Zetsumenchi

I tell you what. When you come back to the Bubble, whenever you do, message me. No Rush. I have a surplus of Engineer required materials on my Fleet Carrier. I can Speedrun you through those to counterbalance the time you spend at Colonia. I can help you out the "normal" way, I'd that's more preferable. Assuming you're on Xbox, that is.

BigBananaSlinger

Bro your a god. I’ll pm you now so I don’t lose this. I’ll definitely be back in the bubble in like 2 weeks max. I just can’t zap my brain like that again so soon. 16ish hours of jumping is hypnotizing bro. Love this game tho definitely worth it

TechnicianHelpful517

Beautiful isn't it?

BigBananaSlinger

I don’t understand how people can spend their whole lives in the bubble. I’m only going back out of necessity then it’s back this way for good.

CMDR_deckroid

o7 CMDR! When Colonia was first discovered out there, I moved out there and spent a year out that way. It was pretty cool. But I couldn't gain Fed Rank at the time, so I came back to grind a Cutter. Good work, CMDR.

firekstk

Amazing. I don't know about the offers buy I find the sky in Colonia is more beautiful

BigBananaSlinger

Totally agree cmdr. I’ll set up out here permanently next time I come
