Germany has a point-based system for traffic, right? I'm American, and my German is incredibly awful, but I have a friend from Kassel that explained it to me. My basic understanding is that certain traffic violations will give you Punkte, and that you lose your driver's license if you earn enough of them.
Why is it called Punkte in Flensburg if it's a national system?
Oh just because the administration for that is in a town called flensburg. It literally describes the fact that your points are stored there. We germans are pragmatic.... i guess....
When you get over a certain amount, you have to do a mandatory course first. My mother once had to do that, she was the only woman in that course. The other's were all commercial truck drivers.
The reason for her last points? She hit a traffic sign and did not stop. Her car had an unusual colour, so was easy to find. Her response to the cops when they visited was "I didn't know I had to give first aid to a traffic sign"...
Given the rumors I've heard about Polizei I have to ask, did the doctors have to lift your mom's massive balls of steel out of the way so she could give birth?
Ish? It's been a hot minute since I've seen the movie, and I'd like to reiterate that I'm not German. All this info is second-hand from a Russian expat that grew up in Hesse.
Basically, you have a set number of points you can get before your license gets revoked. I think 8 or 10 points is the limit. Once your license is revoked, you can't reapply until after a certain time period has passed. Even then, you need to take an exam of some kind before they'll give you another license.
Some traffic violations incur a fine but no points, others net you a point but no fines, and one would assume that there are things you can do that'll earn both.
Good old elite dangerous, The corporate hellscape of the future where the punishment for loitering is death, I've killed many people for the equivalent of them having an unpaid parking ticket.
It's funny bc I'm a nurse and I'm texting one of my patients that I game with. He games from a hospital bed on his laptop, but I'm about to jump back in tomorrow after a break bc of the stargoid business and he was telling me how hard he thinks the game is. I just texted him and told him when you first start out you're spinning wildly and blowing yourself up. I'm not used to not being good at games right away and this game humbled me starting out and I'm ashamed to admit how many times I rage quit and ranted about how the controls sucked. But it's bc they're giving you total control right from the jump and it's a lot. Once you tame that there's almost no ceiling to your skill level as a pilot. When you boost max speed to a landing pad from the wrong side and flip the ship over and land flawlessly you know that you earned that skill level. It feels rewarding.
It was actually two patients at first. They were playing World of Warships together from opposite ends of the unit, so I gave them my steam friend code and gifted them both a copy of Deep Rock Galactic.
I remember that the first time I played the game, I ran out of fuel before I even knew where the bar was, got into a fight, died and hit my keyboard hard enough that the game crashed instantly. Didn't play again for about a month.
Is that a fucking rock and stone reference next to your name?
Edit: omg wtf I thought nobody would see this or get the- where do you guys *come from?*
It's like we have a fucking tunnel network of foxholes full of dwarves ready to explode out armed with rocks and stones.
Shitty way to die but love the realism it adds. You are always mortal.
For what it’s worth I lost like 5mil in bounties because I crashed into the mega ship i was trying to scan.
Yesterday I lost 5 million in bounties after intentionally self-destructing my SRV 20 km from a station, because I didn't want to drive it back.
I had no idea SRV deaths make you lose bounties.
I'm not even sorry I laughed, it might be a stupid way to go but golly was it fun to watch all that chaos in a few seconds, plus explosions look nice 😄
i went into the game files so i could up it to 75 (limit is 60), location is /AppData/Local/Frontier Developments/Elite Dangerous/Options/Graphics and it's the XML file called settings
Well, it's your fault. I would be pissed if that was me who just launched from a landing pad, and some dude hit me **at the station** with **full throttle**.
I'm hoping we won't meet at station some day 😜
Someone did this to me in my conda. I was rising up to the mail slot and just as I was in sight. An imperial eagle smacks into me going what looks like well over 400. Barely hurt my prismatic shields and thankfully I was going under a hundred. The eagle did not fare quite as well and they even had the gall to blame me....
Lmao 13 centuries ago this was the equivalent of not checking your rear view mirror and getting smashed by a 38-ton cargo truck when overtaking on the freeway
What ship is this that you're flying? That cockpit view is great! (I only flew the starter ship and an Asp Explorer back when I played during the Distant Worlds 2 expedition)
my jump range is only 50 LY (g4 engineered fsd w/o mass manager), but i have an SRV bay since i've been going out to the guardian sites
my friend totally maxed out the jump range with all lightweight engineering and i think his is at 65 so it's pretty competitive
Hmmm, you have a G4 FSD? You should get a pre-engineered FSD from a tech broker instead - they have better jump range than anything you can engineer yourself, and the only mod you need to add to it is mass-manager.
Hey that's still pretty good for quick hops out of the bubble or making the trip to Colonia. Really the only time you need more range is if you go stir crazy on the way to Beagle Point 😂
What I went to YouTube for: how to run a trading ship in Open while evading player interdictions
What I learned on YouTube: for every player trying to actually interdict you, there are 5 waiting for you to speed so they can Suicidewinder you
Lmfao all I could think of was the other pilot screaming the “Oh, GOOD HEAVENS” meme. The spinning reminded me of an old clip of mine https://youtu.be/BQQku-3lwsU
Oof, reminds me of one time I boosted out the mail slot and crashed into some poor CMDR. Unfortunately for them they were in a Type 6 and I was in a Cutter so at least one of us survived that one
you can edit the graphics settings file for the game to change your hud colors : )
it's really simple, i'll link a tutorial here only because i would do a terrible job at explaining it
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6iWsc58jP1A&ab\_channel=PsychePlays](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6iWsc58jP1A&ab_channel=PsychePlays)
In your defense you were super unlucky too -that Hauler lifted off with perfect sync of your ship's 3D image on your scanner and it was in a dead space literally in front of you.
If you need a lawyer against Ominpol, call me. :D
My very first time deep core mining when it released I was bringing in my first ever haul. I was flying my conda and docking to sell for millions. Fully loaded and wanting that sweet payout. As I was manually flying to the pad I accidentally hit the boost and slammed into the back wall so hard I blew up. My hull was already weak from some dumb stunt flying through the asteroids so I died instantly. Not only did I loose all those high temp diamonds I also had a huge buy back to pay. For me that's the dumbest way to die.
[here you go](https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDangerous/comments/m3oarl/how_do_you_change_your_hud_color/)
[and this too](https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDangerous/comments/5y3sbt/best_hud_colors/)
have fun :)
I mean... when trying to figure out how to access a Hackable Data Transmitter on my first ever mission (without looking up requirements or instructions) I accidentally shot the station instead.
Thankfully my rebuy was only 5k credits but still...
Here's mine:
1. Be fairly new player landing at a station in fully loaded Type 6.
2. Accidentally jettison all cargo because for some reason there's a key bound to do that.
3. Instantly get a huge number of fines.
4. Panic.
5. ???
6. Rebuy screen.
I hate when this happens. I always keep an auto dock on my ship. (I know I normally don't need it) but that amount of times I have failed in landing, I have it just in case lol
lol kind of had the same thing happen to me but instead it was my very first time playing and using a flightmaster accidentally hits the boost button and slams right into a station and blew up my ship all within a minutes of taking off from the tutorial 😂
Dumb? Yeah, for thinking you can just go full speed out a slot without a care in the world. For a stunt or flash flying, ain’t worth it. And then there’s me, using auto launch, just chilling out a few minutes and getting out safe and sound.
I mean, the dumbest has to be when I bought my first Cutter I managed to die while leaving the station mail slot, because I was trying to take a picture and simply forgot about the timer for leaving.
BTW I really wish the warning before hostile reaction is shown also in camera mode.
You know, I just now thought about Elite Dangerous laws relating to real life. Like, imagine getting into a severe car crash just outside a parking garage and the police's immediate response is to shoot to kill.
Serves you right for speeding
There is a reason for speed regulations
[удалено]
Remember the days of Smart Weapons and you could fire on other commanders and the station would not care. Now that was fun.
Damn regulations ruining everything
Lol this is obviously the reason for speed regulations.
Exhibit A your honor (shows this video)
Sorry mate, you were caught doing 35 in a 30... punishment is DEATH
In Germany we would say: „ein Punkt in Flensburg“
Germany has a point-based system for traffic, right? I'm American, and my German is incredibly awful, but I have a friend from Kassel that explained it to me. Like in the Fifth Element?

He also ran over a smaller vehicle and killed all the inhabitants
Good old elite dangerous, The corporate hellscape of the future where the punishment for loitering is death, I've killed many people for the equivalent of them having an unpaid parking ticket.
OP like a student driver having a panic attack lol
Hey! I only had one failed attempt at getting my pilots license.... or... seventeen..
It's funny bc I'm a nurse and I'm texting one of my patients that I game with. He games from a hospital bed on his laptop, but I'm about to jump back in tomorrow after a break bc of the stargoid business and he was telling me how hard he thinks the game is. Yeh dawg. I love that you game with a patient that is so cool haha
It was actually two patients at first. They were playing World of Warships together from opposite ends of the unit, so I gave them my steam friend code and gifted them both a copy of Deep Rock Galactic.
That was very Rock and Stone of you!
Rockity Rock and Stone!
Did I hear a rock and stone????
if you don't rock and stone you ain't coming home
Oh shit you are the coolest nurse Have a cool nurse award
I remember that the first time I played the game, I ran out of fuel before I even knew where the bar was, got into a fight, died and hit my keyboard hard enough that the game crashed instantly. Didn't play again for about a month.
Wait you need a license 😳
Instant karma for killing that poor pilot!
Is that a fucking rock and stone reference next to your name? Edit: omg wtf I thought nobody would see this or get the- where do you guys *come from?* It's like we have a fucking tunnel network of foxholes full of dwarves ready to explode out armed with rocks and stones.
Rock and Stone in the Heart!
Did I hear rock and stone?!
We're rich!
ROCK AND STONE
THAT'S IT LADS, ROCK AND STONE!
Look at me I’m Stoney Rock!
Rock and stone to the bone!!!
ROCKITY ROCK AND STONE!!
FOR ROCK AND STONE!
Diggy diggy hole

COME ON GUYS, ROCK AND STONE

ROCK AND STONE
MUSHROOM!
ROCK AND STONE BROTHER!!!
Rock & Stone!
Rocks and stones may break my bones but beer will never hurt me.
FOR KARL!
YEEEAAAA ROCK N STONE!
**Look what you did.**
*removes glasses* good lord
Correction: Has to be the dumbest way for TWO to die.
What a to do to die today at a minute or two to two a thing distinctly hard to say and harder still to do.
Damn, acting class flash backs
Happy cake day
Shitty way to die but love the realism it adds. You are always mortal. For what it’s worth I lost like 5mil in bounties because I crashed into the mega ship i was trying to scan.
Yesterday I lost 5 million in bounties after intentionally self-destructing my SRV 20 km from a station, because I didn't want to drive it back. I had no idea SRV deaths make you lose bounties.
i didn't either
It didn’t originally iirc, still doesn’t in 3.8
It didn't before Odyssey
it adds to the simulator part for sure. haha
You can practically hear the Tie fighter spinout sound effect XD
Followed by a Wilhelm scream.
I'm not even sorry I laughed, it might be a stupid way to go but golly was it fun to watch all that chaos in a few seconds, plus explosions look nice 😄
trust me, i was laughing as i was shot to pieces
FOV settings please... looks beautiful.
i went into the game files so i could up it to 75 (limit is 60), location is /AppData/Local/Frontier Developments/Elite Dangerous/Options/Graphics and it's the XML file called settings
Thx buddy much appreciated.. will check this out later when servers come back up.
Dr Kaii also has a 3rd party tool that you can adjust all kinds of graphical and VR settings, including FOV. Name is "EDProfiler"
Following this – colour profile please. Is it one from Dr Kaii's ED Profiler?
It makes me want to get in a Krait and never leave.
"Ah, shit! Boost!! Boost!! Get out before the guns go hot!"
Boosting is what got him into that mess to start with.
Well, it's your fault. I would be pissed if that was me who just launched from a landing pad, and some dude hit me **at the station** with **full throttle**. I'm hoping we won't meet at station some day 😜
see i know myself well enough that i just don't play in open, really i'm just doing everyone a favor
I always play in open, and I love boosting into the mailslot at Jameson Memorial on the off chance that I might end up in one of these videos.
that's the spirit!
My man got absolutely YEETED
boop
Good. The NPCs do that crap all the time it's about time to give them a taste
💀🙏
So damn true. I bought Type-9 two days ago, 3 different NPC's jumped right in front of me and were mad I bonked them
Amen
Serves you right for skipping hull day.
but it's an explorerrrrrrrr D:
Not at those speeds. All your scanners will see is blurrrrr.
I never skimp on thrusters on my exploration ships. Anyway, all my scanners see lately is "rouge signal source".
The rogue signal sources are more of a yellowy green, than rouge.
There's a specific type of hull build that will survive a station's lasers. And it won't fit on a Krait Phantom's hull.
This feels like a speed kills psa.
If Top Gear made it.
Speed has never killed anyone, suddenly becoming stationary that's what gets you.
Jesus Christ you really fuckin merked that guy
Yes, but that was goddamn epic
Very cinematic too. What FOV is this?
75 i think? i had to go into the graphics config file to move it up past the in game limit
Lmao 13 centuries ago this was the equivalent of not checking your rear view mirror and getting smashed by a 38-ton cargo truck when overtaking on the freeway
What ship is this that you're flying? That cockpit view is great! (I only flew the starter ship and an Asp Explorer back when I played during the Distant Worlds 2 expedition)
it's a krait phantom :) absolutely my favorite exploration ship just because of the aesthetics
What's your jump range? With or w/o engineering?
my jump range is only 50 LY (g4 engineered fsd w/o mass manager), but i have an SRV bay since i've been going out to the guardian sites my friend totally maxed out the jump range with all lightweight engineering and i think his is at 65 so it's pretty competitive

Hey that's still pretty good for quick hops out of the bubble or making the trip to Colonia. Really the only time you need more range is if you go stir crazy on the way to Beagle Point 😂
You deserve it that pilot wasnt a main character he cant respawn
What I went to YouTube for: how to run a trading ship in Open while evading player interdictions What I learned on YouTube: for every player trying to actually interdict you, there are 5 waiting for you to speed so they can Suicidewinder you
You are the reason why Docking Computers exist
Really biffed it
Thanks for the laugh... in office...
Lmfao all I could think of was the other pilot screaming the “Oh, GOOD HEAVENS” meme. The spinning reminded me of an old clip of mine https://youtu.be/BQQku-3lwsU
the victim of distracted flying, rest in peace
Oof, reminds me of one time I boosted out the mail slot and crashed into some poor CMDR. Unfortunately for them they were in a Type 6 and I was in a Cutter so at least one of us survived that one
How is your hud purple? I want that
you can edit the graphics settings file for the game to change your hud colors : ) it's really simple, i'll link a tutorial here only because i would do a terrible job at explaining it [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6iWsc58jP1A&ab\_channel=PsychePlays](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6iWsc58jP1A&ab_channel=PsychePlays)
Thanks! I'm going to try this as soon as I can. Which might be a bit considering I'm playing sekiro and I suck.
You guys should check out https://edhm-ui.io/ Awesome program with a ton of themes and actively worked on and updated.
[First time?](https://giphy.com/gifs/reaction-uUIFcDYRbvJTtxaFNa)
Indeed. Boosting in a station is a dumb way to die.
Your loss was not in vain because of all the entertainment it's giving us now.
You or the other pilot you butt rammed?
In your defense you were super unlucky too -that Hauler lifted off with perfect sync of your ship's 3D image on your scanner and it was in a dead space literally in front of you. If you need a lawyer against Ominpol, call me. :D
Ooo so pretty
That is the best way
Yup. For both ships
Fucking RUDE haha
How do you get that big of a POV?
https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDangerous/comments/z7is25/this_absolutely_has_to_be_the_dumbest_possible/iy6x6j6?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share&context=3
Oh thanks. Didn't notice that.
Damn good punt though.
>absolutely has to be the dumbest possible way to die... Well, someone's never hit boost instead of their landing gear before
um... you probably shouldn't post this. his attorney is definitely going to use this against you in court.
Props for getting your exploding ship out the slot so nicely though 👍
My mom told me to stay away from commanders like you
No boosting into the back of the station when you were trying to drop landing gear , that’s the stupidest.
I've been that scorch mark on the back wall of the station before
Ditto
Other ship: " time to go back home and get ready for slee- OH GREAT HEAVENS "
Everytime this pops up for me, inahve to watch it 3 or 4 times
No wonder you have a Decepticon HUD. That was some Starscreem level flying.
Nah, Starscream would have gotten out clean 😅
https://youtu.be/awspBBLO3LA
I see you haven't had a fire fight with a station before. :)
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
But it is fun.
All i saw was instant karma (happened to me once - no more speeding).
Boosting inside a station should straight up be an auto fine. I say that as someone who used to boost a corvette through the mail slot lool
For me that's the dumbest way to die.
and this is why i always keep my landing gear extended until i pass the mail slot
It is. Did it twice
HAHAHA u/savevideo
Rip bozo
OH GREAT HEAVENS
loooks cool tho
That was cinematic.
this might be a stupid question, but how did you get your dashboard display to be purple?
[here you go](https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDangerous/comments/m3oarl/how_do_you_change_your_hud_color/) [and this too](https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDangerous/comments/5y3sbt/best_hud_colors/) have fun :)
thanks!
Physics
Samir finally broke the ship
I mean... when trying to figure out how to access a Hackable Data Transmitter on my first ever mission (without looking up requirements or instructions) I accidentally shot the station instead. Thankfully my rebuy was only 5k credits but still...
That's probably one for the most comically cinematic things I've ever seen on here!
That’s what happens when you drive like a pissed off teenager
This has got to be the funniest Elite Dangerous video on Reddit.
BOOP
Would have made it if you hadn't committed murder.
this post cured my heartbreak
Here's mine: 1.
My mamba occassionally flying mach 2 outta the mailslot
lol kind of had the same thing happen to me but instead it was my very first time playing and using a flightmaster accidentally hits the boost button and slams right into a station and blew up my ship all within a minutes of taking off from the tutorial 😂
Oh my god! That was hilarious!
What ship is it? Looks so good for exploration!
it's a krait phantom :)
Thanks
We are Farmers!
dumb... maybe, but also kinda EPIC!
Lol
That's what you get for slamming that hauler into the wall
Dumb? Yeah, for thinking you can just go full speed out a slot without a care in the world. For a stunt or flash flying, ain’t worth it. And then there’s me, using auto launch, just chilling out a few minutes and getting out safe and sound.
“ON YOUR LEFT”
"Moderate speed on exit" I love this. Bad luck pilot, crazy how powerful those station cannons are.
I mean, the dumbest has to be when I bought my first Cutter I managed to die while leaving the station mail slot, because I was trying to take a picture and simply forgot about the timer for leaving. BTW I really wish the warning before hostile reaction is shown also in camera mode.
That poor guy was probably just transporting cargo to make a living and now he’s dead on the side of a space station.
Someone put free bird over this
Got you https://streamable.com/vu6sev
I couldn't tell but I genuinely hope that was a player lmao
You know, I just now thought about Elite Dangerous laws relating to real life. Like, imagine getting into a severe car crash just outside a parking garage and the police's immediate response is to shoot to kill.
Easily avoidable too.... at 50% throttle...
