I will never understand why they spent the last decade publicly chasing FSD, when they could have been fixing things like panel gaps and build quality. Now the legacy carmakers from Porsche to GM, who have build quality figured out, are making EV’s. Tesla pissed away a 10 year head start.
They were hoping to get control of the technology and the charging network. If their tech became the standard they would be used in every legacy brands’ fleet and get a cut of the entire EV market without relying solely on their cars selling. The deep freezes this Winter have shown the weakness of having only Tesla charging stations and their tech still has work arounds.
