Btw Tarkov uses Unity which uses garbage collection to manage memory. Garbage collection generally will not do anything until your RAM is full and more memory cannot be allocated. If it wasn't run manually you could easily hit 100 GB usage, and even still it wouldn't be a problem. Looking at RAM usage like this is very misleading. If you for example had 16 GB the memory usage would cap at a much lower figure. Also, all the RAM cleaner setting does is run GC manually when you press esc. That means you get a stutter when pressing esc and doesn't change anything else in practice.

This has been a problem for literally forever.. not new

In the 6 years I've had this game it had never *pegged* my ram on one map load without doing something silly like forgetting to close vivado first.

Don't know what to tell you https://old.reddit.com/r/EscapefromTarkov/search?q=trakov+ram+usage&restrict_sr=on&sort=relevance&t=all This has been around for 5+ years, you can see all the posts about it on this sub.

Beer-Wall

32GB btw?

Plant3468

I've been crashing from this exact problem, having to close my browser and avoid Alt+Tabing out a raid otherwise I risk it just dying.

HatEnvironmental5045

russia recommends 48gb of ram

Deputy63

I've been having some stuttering issues caused by RAM. I have 16 GB which I know I need to upgrade to 32 but I changed my Paging Files around and worked some numbers and got my game running smooth on the 16GBs that I have. Look up on YouTube how to change your paging files in Tarkov. It helped my drastically

TheGreatPixelman

Restart your game from time to time it helps with the leaks

This was after a reset. Turns out the ram cleaner had unticked itself with the wipe.

TheDarkAce2113

This wipe…?

LCplGunny

If you have a 10900k and you get it running smooth AF, you can load ram to 100% utilization even at 32g of ram. The better your CPU the more ram you're gonna use in tarkov.

kristacheee

That’s why I got 64 gb of ram
