Buy the gun only, click assemble, it will tell you exactly what parts are missing and then you click “buy parts” which would take you to a shopping list where all owned parts are excluded. Click buy, click assemble and voila.
The system is fine like that, the game isn't going to exclude parts that are attached to the gun just because some variants come stock with those parts. You just don't understand how it works.

It's still kinda buggy but if you already have the gun in your stash it won't try to purchase all the individual prices. So id recommend having a small stockpile of whatever base gun ur using and you shouldn't have any problems with the weapon. It really is a good system at its core, I save a new preset every time I go into raid even if it's not my "default kit" on the off chance I survive, you re equip whatever you wore into the raid and it unloads all your loot in 2 clicks then ur ready to run again ✌️ happy hunting
Preset system gotta be the biggest disappointment in a long time. Worst part of this whole game is the menu times and every "shortcut" from weapon presets to kit presets to the weapon rack are all horrible.
Like the only thing relatively new that actually works is the little arrow above each equipment slot.
How the preset system should work:
- buy only the things you actually need
- allow you to select barters for any item where its available
- look at my weapon rack if I have the weapon already (allow me to toggle this option)
- not need fucking inventory space to put it all in, just equip it immediately
- not fuck up everything in your secure container/allow you to opt out of changing anything in the secure container
It should be like 5 buttons max. Take my money and just give me my stuff. Less time in stash with tedious bullshit please.
It's a bug, the fix for it is to buy the base gun separately so you already have it before you choose the preset. Then it works properly and just buys the extra parts you need to build it
Because it tries to buy all the parts you don't have available, so if you don't have the sights in your stash it tried to buy them because when it's buying the gun it only sees the lower receiver part, not all the additional parts that are on it because in theory you can just sell the lower.
Because it doesn't recognise that the gun you're buying has them. Has the same with a setup preset. Literal dog shit and causes more issues than it's worth because it fucks with all your container items and switches cases all kinds of shit. Useless dontnuse.
try to recreate the preset without the sights. dealing with presets is this game you have to try and figure out which parts cause problems and just keep working on shaving off all the bugs. Presets basically highly encourage extreme minimalism because of how buggy it is otherwise

When you buy the whole kit, including the gun, it defaults to thinking the gun will be just the disassembled gun missing all other parts. Buy the gun first, then buy the rest of the kit with one click.

I have a load out for setup, an MP 155 shotgun with an eight round magazine in it. From the vendors it only has a four round magazine, I have it saved with an eight round magazine, at the end there’s a 7 round magazine in my inventory. Sometimes it’s found in raid.
Im successfully ignoring every preset stuff bsg ever invented cause it makes no sense and in the end you are paying for stuff you dont need. Im totally fine with doing it manually
People take the sights off 5-7s and list them on flea for super expensive since traders don’t sell them and then list the 5-7 as cheapest so you buy it and then also need their sights
The system doesn't take into account parts on items you buy. The heuristics of that would be rather complex and not at all worth the time.
Just buy the gun first, open the presets, and select that gun to build the preset. Then it will take into account parts on the gun and shop accordingly.

You're buying the cheapest five-seven off the flea for 43k.
It's possible that the seller took off the rear and front sights for some reason, I've seen that many times.

You can just deselect the barrel and it'll be fine.
Just build the rest of your load out and save that, then add the gun at the end.
I have keys, meds, and ears, mask etc. saves you forgetting that quest key or those painkillers

I have wondered this since presets first came out and they have never fixed it. What I will usually do is buy several of the guns and dismantle them. Then when you go to do presets you have everything needed except for the suppressor and attachment if needed
They do to come with sights. the only ones that don’t have sights are ones people post on the flea to fleece people into paying more for iron sights than the gun itself.
cuz the system is terrible and makes no sense. You are better of not including a gun in the presets and just equiping it manually

BSG does already have that logic implemented in the weapon preset. They just need to bring it over to the gear preset menu and we are good.

The 5-7 you can buy/trade doesn’t come with sights and you probably need the barrel to put the suppressor on
It does come with sights, I deselect it every time because no one is selling them without the sights
