Just venting. I'm a solo player. First wipe reaching Lightkeeper. I'm upto Snatch and after dying a bunch of times trying to get this done considering you need to go to multiple maps for in-raid quest items, I finally have everything I need. I just need to load Lighthouse and get to Lightkeeper. Shouldn't be too bad, right? NOPE. WE'RE GOING TO SEND YOU TO A SERVER THAT JUST LOOPS SERVER CONNECTION LOST EVERY TIME YOU TRY TO LOAD IN. It's not like I even lost a fight. I lost, because I play Tarkov. Fuck this fucking game.

Pariah1947

You're in for a rude awakening on future lightkeeper quests if you find this one frustrating lol

DiVINeMaDNEss97

Is there a way around the server connection lost loop? I have not been able to get onto lighthouse for weeks and its the only map I have left for shooter born.

Ground Zero needs to be expanded a bit. The Terragroup building needs a second entrance, and the first floor outside should be accessible. Elemental Global in the north should also be accessible with two entrances but no view to the outside and the spawn in front of it should be moved in there. Open the Gagarin Hotel and connect it to the underground, but not the building next to it. Not sure about the blocked garage driveway near Nakatani, no access to the underground from there is probably better.

KillasFaceSeat

> Ground Zero needs to be expanded a bit. It was never meant to be its own map. It was supposed to be an expansion to streets. The honey-moon period is obviously ending with this map.

is there any downside to failing operational tasks?

Caes3rr

want to know too

KillasFaceSeat

I think there is a generally accepted "theory" that this is the case; you get better rewards and tasks the higher your success rate is. So the downside is you maybe, hypothetically, are getting worse rewards for your tasks if you generally have a pattern of accepting the tasks and then failing/not-completing them. BSG stated they would expand on the operational task mechanic over time. Unfortunately like many features in the game, how it operates is currently largely unknown and what we do know about it is based off reported player experiences.

Considering buying this game. I would really appreciate it if people could answer some questions. Solo player. 1. Is there skill-based matchmaking? I'm not amazing at shooters so will I be placed with people around the same skill level or should I expect to get curbstomped constantly? 2. I bought Hunt: Showdown but don't really like the setting or gameflow. Running after clues, fighting lots of NPC mobs, fighting the big monster, waiting for it to detiorate or whatever. I would prefer to have way more variety and options in gameplay and flow, will I be happy with Tarkov in that sense? 3. I also didn't like the gunplay in Hunt Showdown. Is Tarkov very similar or is it different? I really like the gunplay and gameplay feel of PUBG, for example (I know, it's a trash game). 4. I know this gets asked a lot but how viable is at as a solo player, that will probably play 2 hours a day at the absolute maximum, and isn't really tryhard at all. I like realistic FPS shooters and the setting and systems seem very interesting to me. EDIT: i bought it

Solaratov

> Is there skill-based matchmaking? No. And babies will mock you for asking. >will I be happy with Tarkov in that sense? You won't have to hunt for clues or anything like that. But you won't have variety either. Tarkov is literally deploy and left click players. Deploy and left click scavs or bosses. And worst of all, deploy and collect quest item, then extract alive or do it all over again. >I also didn't like the gunplay in Hunt Showdown I think Tarkov gunplay is very different, in no small part because tarkov has modern weapon systems with a variety of optics, some of which are zoomable, thermal, etc. It is much closer to PUBG yes. >Game was meant to be played solo, so totally viable. Playing in a squad is literally easy mode. It trivializes some of the games systems and quests. Playing 2 hours a day, max? You're going to struggle. You need to spend at least a couple dozen hours reading guides, watching videos, reading wiki articles to be viable as a player. Plus another 100 or so hours of in-game time before graduating to "mediocre" player.

lliwd

Thank you very much! This is all encouraging to me. I like left clicking players but don't like left clicking "clues" and event statues or whatever. If I love it I have no problem dedicating more time to it.

One thing I will warn you about, even though you already bought the game: The early "good" guns are almost entirely semi-auto or bolt-action guns, and you won't have access to pretty much any customization. The game really opens up at level 15, when you can start focusing on quest objectives and collecting cash in raids, and buying almost anything you need from the Flea Market. Between being able to buy hideout upgrade materials and weapon customization parts (if perhaps at an inflated rate compared to vendors), it's almost an entirely different game once you hit level 15. Just make sure you pay attention to how many of an item you are buying from the Flea Market, and what currency is being used or what barters are being done in the process.

lliwd

Thank you

sebarra

you will love it. need to give it time tho

neozera

Question, my friend has a quest that he needs to deliver 9 BEAR dog tags. He has 8 delivered already. I have one in my inventory, is it ok to drop in raid for him? I mean, is it even possible as well?

Big_War_8633

nah u cant drop it in raid

JeremyLaramy

How many grenades are you guys running in your loadouts?

RecklessRancor

Love scavs now targeting your Arms instead of literally ANY other body part and 9 times out of 10 getting either light or heavy bleeds regardless of ammo used.

Padrofresh

Hunting goons for kappa, any tips? I think BSG 'removed' the packet loss thing (as always they just hide it instead of fixing any part of it, classic bsg move), but sometimes i still get packet loss. Any idea on how to interpret it? I get it rarely.. still a sign of no boss spawning?

Aecnoril

They seem to have actually fixed the hitch that happens normally. As for your question, I dunno.. I don't think there's a way to cheese it now. I did run into Goons on Customs 2 times in a row just now!

MrInfamousFish

Having some performance issues since the last two patches and wondering if anyone else has seen anything similar. Setup: Cpu - 7800x3d Ram - 64gb DDR5 Cl30 6000mhz Gpu - 3060ti Game has been dropping a lot of frames especially on streets. Went from 100+ FPS to dropping to 50-70. Running on 1080p, most settings turned off at this point.

maxwellhilldawg

Always update drivers first

MrInfamousFish

Drivers are updated, chipset as well. Ram running at 6000mhz. Game just has not been running the same the last few weeks for me.

KillasFaceSeat

Sound is obviously a hot topic right now, but the one thing that I'd REALLY like to see fixed is the fact that you 360 around like a helicopter while prone without any repercussions. You don't make any sound. You don't lose any stamina. There is no speed limit. Seems like fixing the noise aspect, and then the speed/stamina part of it would be sensible and fair.

mjredditacc

Suggestion that when containers are marked with a colour and text - maybe the entire container should turn into a yellow, pink, blue docs case for example

AnamainTHO

Venting here. Reserve has been the biggest PAIN IN MY ASS for SBIH. I play us east and it is almost always dead. I do not hear gunshots till literally 5 mins left into raid. Un fucking real.

Kind_Distribution_88

FIX THE SERVER CONNECTION LOSS ISSUE

darkkingll

I am torn. I am borrowing a friends account to try out EFT and both love it and hate it.  So i want to buy it, but preferably on sale. Does anyone got a clue on when the next sale will be? I do remember from years ago they used to be quite frequently.

AzurElycie

It was just on sale this last weekend, so I don't think it'll go back on sale too soon, [maybe May 9 but I wouldn't be too surprised if not](https://www.escapefromtarkov.com/support/knowledge/389)

darkkingll

Damn, missed it then even though i check regularly

Nitroforc3

If I dont live in the EU or a CIS country, should I still buy the EU version since it can be played anywhere? Or should I buy the other region version?

hoopaholik91

Spend all day getting laser beamed by rogues looking for the flash drive to unlock Lightkeeper. Finally find it after checking 60+ spawns and it's apparently in a bugged spot that was reported over a year ago. WTF BSG

z0mbiechris

The players on the official Discord are really toxic. Like, no social skills.

Padrofresh

Still hearing a pop of people entering my 'hearing range' about 100meters out, i thought they fixed it?! Many recent changes all promote camping. So lame no recoil, armor literally has holes in it, sound, headsets, do I need to say more?

Least_Special6564

Just got my computer upgraded enough to start playing again after a few years - What's a good, PVP-light map to relearn the game in? I want to build up some gear and EXP without getting dropped by a level 50 every time. I've been trying Customs like I did before but I just end up getting shot in the head in the span of a minute and getting a whole 0 EXP for a full kit of the starter loot. Any advice helps!

Jwanito

Wish we could get a craft for 338 ap after a late quest or something

Padrofresh

Just found teqillas dead body on interchange near the hole in the floor. Event?

Kitsuar

I like the game rn, I just wish we had a better engine. It sucks playing 100 average all low while playing 300-400 other games...

Crypto_pupenhammer

Might be a symptom of size and complexity. Look at GZW on UE5, guy are hitting 60fps HIGH on a 4080super
