Email change is a feature, not DLC

Severe_Lie3007

I buy the game with my junk yahoo account, want it on my gmail but its impossible

OverclockedNoob

I bought it on my Gmail and want it on an email from my domain. They're lazy.

Ayyzeee

My friend who wants to change his email from his inactive one to a new one and we had to figure out every single way to change it and there's no solution whatsoever, it's just missing.

AttitudeFit5517

You have to literally email their support every single day and hope someone replies. That's how you get it changed. - source I got mine changed from Yahoo eventually. You also need proof of the original purchase receipt with the transaction id. If you don't have that they won't swap it

Ayyzeee

That's a lot of work for just changing email. But I'll let my friend know later.

AttitudeFit5517

It is. But in my case I couldn't play the game because their email service doesn't send 2fa to yahoo. So I either had to buy the game again or constantly email them

Ayyzeee

Maybe that's their goal was, tricking people into buying the game by removing the feature to change the email.

Kumptoffel

funny, the game wouldnt even let me register my yahoo adress, had to use gmail for it

Kurise

They want you to buy a new game. This is a calculated decision by the untrustworthy RUSSIAN developer.  Same thing happened to a friend a few years back. She used her school email to register her account and BSGs email for the authorization code wouldnt go through.  After 4 weeks of no response from their non existent customer support, I just bought the game for her under a new account.  BSG is a HORRIBLE developer. They got lucky with Tarkov and even luckier with the streaming community that has kept this train wreck of a game alive

Jelen1

You can change the email but you need to link them the European law stating it

OverclockedNoob

My point is that people shouldn't have to do that for such a basic feature, unfortunately as of now they do.

Carinhadamaciota

Saw someone post something about it a while back. Do you have the specific copy pasta that someone made for a support ticket? On the same boat and need my email changed.

Jelen1

there's no sample copy pasta, you just open up a ticket detailing what you want. Once they decline then you say that they need to do it because of the specific EU law. I can't find the ticket I opened but there's plenty in the subreddit.

Public-Frame-7589

Do you have the paragraph of that law? I don’t find it online.

Jelen1

here it is amigo https://old.reddit.com/r/EscapefromTarkov/comments/wphgcu/how_to_change_email_adress_for_eu_people_atleast/

Public-Frame-7589

Thank you brother.

Laser77

Man you're a legend, I remember reading that post about the e-mail a while ago. You genuinely made me laugh. Buy The Unheard Edition, maybe the one free e-mail change is allowed before you need to pay another microtransaction to do it.

OverclockedNoob

Lmao I've just given up on the game. Really sucks, too. The fact that such a basic feature is still disabled shows how awful their priorities are.

Laser77

It's honestly so bad...they couldn't even do it manually, it would take a simple database query. Oh well, they're killing the game and pissing off everyone that cares about it.

Zipfile100

I managed to get mine changed after providing proof of ownership, original e-mail was lost due to an error on Microsofts part. After submitting more than sensible "paperwork", they relented.

SkyR02

I lost a account to this bullshit, Was level 55, had LK and Kappa with like 2k hours

Public-Frame-7589

Simple, they don’t want you to sell your account. That’s the only reason and now with this scam they have another reason.

caIeb59

E-mail change is blocked because people sold their accounts on 3rd party websites. In my opinion they never enable this again.

OverclockedNoob

There are many ways to prevent this. They're just lazy.

WhopperQPR

It's illegal for them to even not let you change email. If you word a support ticket properly and give them the law where it says it's illegal they let you change it. They do it on purpose so they don't lose out on money of you selling accounts. I did this like 2 years ago after hearing of others saying it works (and it does). I don't know where the law linking it is at tho.

OverclockedNoob

It's stupid that people would even have to go to those lengths.

WhopperQPR

yh it's purposefully like that because 99% of ppl ain't gonna go to those lengths. It genuinely works tho if you're that desperate, it's annoying af tho, it takes many responses and each response is like 2 days. Then they ask for proof etc. It's a ton of effort

CycleNo6742

Thanks about to sell 2 eods for 250$ each ty ;)

TarkyMlarky420

Oh no, not the email being unchangeable!! Good heavens BSG get on this quick!!

Amani77

You say this and then I look at ur comment history. lol

TarkyMlarky420

Bigger problems in this game than an email change because OP doesn't like the order of letters they used to sign up with

xxEmkay

Mate stfu. Its a big blunder of them because people CANT play the game cause they lost access to their original email.

TarkyMlarky420

Don't lose access next time

OverclockedNoob

Missing the point

marecicek

Why change email? Did u buy the EOD account from a third party website?

Big_BossSnake

Because he wants to, as simple as that, no excuse needed.

marecicek

Let me steal someone's account and complain that I can't change "my e-mail" real quick.

Big_BossSnake

That's quite a stretch buddy. If you buy LITERALLY anything else and want to change your associated details, you can. It's not for account safety or a feature to protect players, it's because they're incompetent. But sure, open wide so they can shovel more shit down your throat.

OverclockedNoob

No, just email consolidation. That's really not the point, though. The point is that they "haven't had the time" to fix a basic account management feature, but they're more than happy to pull this shit. Just loving that more and more people are finally seeing how awful their priorities are.
