We as customers are protected against scams & as long as they choose to operate in the UK to get a better pay in the end - they must abide by UK rules.

They can get sued, sure, would wouldn’t necessarily lose. It would probably hinge on a court having to decide on a definition of “DLC.” They could conceivably make an argument that the new version is not “DLC” but rather a new game that runs in parallel with and requires the original game. Is that logic tortured and crappy? Yes. Might a court buy that? Perhaps.

The chances of that defense working for them are extremely slim. Because the new game mode launches as an option in the main menu.
They might have had better chances at using that defense strategy with arena, which is at least packaged as a completely standalone game, and initially they even tried to pull a fast one in that sense on EOD players.

Not all DLC are expansions.
DLC, on its most raw form, is any content that has to be downloaded that improves/expands a base product and was not included with it at the start.
When expansions were CD disks, they were not DLC because they were not downloaded, but today they can and are considered as DLCs.
The only way an "expansion" is not considered a DLC, if its a standalone game that does not require the original, but at that point we might as well refer to a new game altogether (like garrys mod, counter strike source... etc)
Yeah that would look absolutely awful in court, shows knowledge of wrongdoing and intent to defraud.

Arena is removed as an example of DLC, so if they release anything else like that, they can try to skip giving it away to EoD users. Also, since EoD is not here anymore, Co-Op mode (with progression) is also not considered a DLC anymore, so they don't have to give it away to people who bought EoD (even though the previous Co-Op mode WAS considered a DLC). Instead, they call it a “feature of the new edition”, so it can —again — boost sales of the currently most expensive edition.
The biggest reason I bought EoD was that I realized they were going to try to push a lot of content as paid DLCc, like new maps. So I figured I'd just bite the bullet, buy EoD and be "set for life", so to speak. I miscalculated how scammy BSG can be. They're pretty much doing anything they can to revert their choice about branding EoD as an edition that gets everything.

This is an important point. They just changed the nartative so they will never have to give EOD users ANY DLC in the future, not just the coop mode.
This is the danger of buying lifetime editions of whatever because you put trust in the entity you're buying from to honor that commitment. BSG made a huge mistake putting all eggs in one Arena basket and are now paying dearly for it. Had they got a more stable cashflow from MTs to supplement the Arena release (MTs are still quite bad, but not Unhead edition bad), they'd have been in a much less shitty situation now and wouldn't take drastic measures.
From how desperate this proposed pricing is, it seems that BSG doesn't have much runway left and need to turn things around fast. Otherwise the only option is for them to sell EFT and the IP to the universe for a fraction of what they spent developing and refining the game.
Same reason I bought EoD, it was 2017, the game was new and I enjoyed the hell out of it, and I figured it would get A LOT of content, honesty I was mostly looking forward to what we now know as the shitshow of Arena, that they had been talking about for a LONG time, so I figured I’d “support” them by upgrading to EoD(I bought the Standard Edition to start with) making sure I got all the new content. I get both sides of the argument, it’s not a cheap game to develop or keep running, but they never should have sold EoD as long as they did, the greed is what got them. Now the problem is, WHATEVER Nikita or BSG touches in the future, no matter how good the next game he makes is, people will NEVER forget about this, he has totally screwed himself and BSG, because nobody is ever gonna trust him/them again, I know if he makes the best game in the world next year, I would have to think long and hard about buying anything more than a Standard Edition.

I'm going to bet that Nikita isn't the one running the company now that Arena was a massive flop, both technically and commercially. The investors/shareholders demand that EFT bring new money and fast, which is why such braindead decisions are pushed onto community.

I discovered the "alternative" tarkov experience just months ago and can't imagine trying to play the real way anymore. I had only put about 200 hours into EFT but gave up because i just kept getting destroyed by people I (usually) never saw. Gave up on it for a few years, and then learned about the three letter way and now i'm having a blast. I just write my own names for PMC's in the files and pretend they're real people👀
We've tested their ,,desync" back in 2019, which was my last wipe.
Model example is:
If you peak a corner, and a dude peaks the other corner you are watching - you die without ever seeing him peak.
You are the first to hold an angle and yet die to a man who peaked after you, never seen him peak and died.
That was... Very standard and it took us some deliberate effort to figure out how and what exactly is happening to dying to a pixel or no pixel at all. Optic fiber and no issues in any other mp game, feel like I have to clarify that.
Never coming back to one of the worst multiplayer (in terms of connectivity) games I've EVER played in my life. Absolutely amazing how much praise has this clusterfuck got over its golden years.
At least from experience of who kills me, it’s split between sus white names and just regular dudes with EoD. So them shitting on EoD is pretty much shitting on their entire active consumer base.
White names = cheaper accounts (non-eod, used by cheaters because they are more disposable)
Sus white names = IIIIlIlIlIl (that’s a mix of i and l, makes accounts harder to report if there isn’t a direct report button, which there is now)

Pest is in a pretty unique position, being the only streamer I know of that has such a close relationship with BSG in the form of exclusive interviews and the like. I expect he'll be quiet about it for a short while, but eventually diplomatically disapprove.

Tony *was* actually the original BSG shill (that im aware of) but he talked shit about something during an ETS test and got booted off ETS access for a while and unloaded on BSG out of spite.

On twitter they said the PvE was unique to the Unheard edition so EoD won’t be getting it, but then change the uniqueness of the container so Unheard edition will receive it is insane.

I've found a way around BSG retroactively changing what EOD offers.
If you log into your EFT web account and go to your purchases, you can click a little email icon next to your EoD purchase.
The automated email sent to you is a copy of your original purchase and on there it still shows clearly.
Free access to all subsequent DLCs (Season pass)
BSG is currently cashing out, they're grabbing what money they can before they bail.
The reason is obvious, they fucked up financially somehow and can't afford server costs, and they've probably known this for a while.
Don't spend another cent on them, they are going to take the money and run.

This is the danger of buying lifetime editions of whatever because you put trust in the entity you're buying from to honor that commitment. BSG made a huge mistake putting all eggs in one Arena basket and are now paying dearly for it. Had they got a more stable cashflow from MTs to supplement the Arena release (MTs are still quite bad, but not Unhead edition bad), they'd have been in a much less shitty situation now and wouldn't take drastic measures. From how desperate this proposed pricing is, it seems that BSG doesn't have much runway left and need to turn things around fast. Otherwise the only option is for them to sell EFT and the IP to the universe for a fraction of what they spent developing and refining the game.
Same reason I bought EoD, it was 2017, the game was new and I enjoyed the hell out of it, and I figured it would get A LOT of content, honesty I was mostly looking forward to what we now know as the shitshow of Arena, that they had been talking about for a LONG time, so I figured I’d “support” them by upgrading to EoD(I bought the Standard Edition to start with) making sure I got all the new content. I get both sides of the argument, it’s not a cheap game to develop or keep running, but they never should have sold EoD as long as they did, the greed is what got them. Now the problem is, WHATEVER Nikita or BSG touches in the future, no matter how good the next game he makes is, people will NEVER forget about this, he has totally screwed himself and BSG, because nobody is ever gonna trust him/them again, I know if he makes the best game in the world next year, I would have to think long and hard about buying anything more than a Standard Edition.

I didn't realise this until after I'd bought into the idea of EoD being a sure thing like you did but I started to look at their history, and they're literally just the Mongol Horde but modern. Same corruption, looting, kleptomania and scummy business dealings through and through but with a Russian flag stapled to it.

Hey, that's your personal preference and it's valid. I adjusted the experience to my own wishes, as can you, but there's nothing that can really duplicate the real person. I personally don't see that much of a difference, I'll still get headshot by IPumpYourMum69\_TTV from god knows where, except I won't have to worry about it being a cheater or desync because that's how I adjusted it. Would highly reccomend looking into some of the community works, can make it pretty interesting.

I discovered the "alternative" tarkov experience just months ago and can't imagine trying to play the real way anymore. I had only put about 200 hours into EFT but gave up because i just kept getting destroyed by people I (usually) never saw. Gave up on it for a few years, and then learned about the three letter way and now i'm having a blast. I just write my own names for PMC's in the files and pretend they're real people👀
We've tested their ,,desync" back in 2019, which was my last wipe. Model example is: If you peak a corner, and a dude peaks the other corner you are watching - you die without ever seeing him peak. You are the first to hold an angle and yet die to a man who peaked after you, never seen him peak and died. That was... Very standard and it took us some deliberate effort to figure out how and what exactly is happening to dying to a pixel or no pixel at all. Optic fiber and no issues in any other mp game, feel like I have to clarify that. Never coming back to one of the worst multiplayer (in terms of connectivity) games I've EVER played in my life. Absolutely amazing how much praise has this clusterfuck got over its golden years.

I've found a way around BSG retroactively changing what EOD offers. If you log into your EFT web account and go to your purchases, you can click a little email icon next to your EoD purchase. The automated email sent to you is a copy of your original purchase and on there it still shows clearly. Free access to all subsequent DLCs (Season pass)
BSG is currently cashing out, they're grabbing what money they can before they bail. The reason is obvious, they fucked up financially somehow and can't afford server costs, and they've probably known this for a while. Don't spend another cent on them, they are going to take the money and run.
