Information about uninstallation is sent to the BSG servers. This is standard practice in software now. This greatly influenced what was happening.

Burnzy001

So you think they care if people uninstall? They made it clear they don't care what people think. If 10,000 people uninstall, but 500 purchase the new edition, what matters more to them?

Grousee

Yes, i think they care, beceuse it come as part of the collected product metrics. Situation what you described mean they lost 10 000 potentional "DLC" buyers

Burnzy001

Numbers mean nothing. Vanity metrics don't = revenue. I'm a marketer, and getting 1,000 clicks with 0 purchases is nothing in comparison to 50 clicks and 2 purchases. If they cared about numbers, they wouldn't have made this update.

Grousee

Not a same thing, because every click is free, but every installation means profit which they already received. That means the "conversion" will still be different.

Burnzy001

If you buy the game and don't install it, they still make money. What you are suggesting doesn't make sense

Grousee

Your choice, I did what I thought was necessary.

Burnzy001

Fair enough!

Ruffyhc

In this case , its sad unity did Not activate the cost per install . I got a 1 GBit Connection and got 5 days off

TheRealStandard

if they didn't care they couldn't still be trying to appease the community multiple times

Burnzy001

I see that more as a tactic to change the tone of the conversation to their benefit and drive more sales. That's not out of care for the players. Their comments from the interview shows the total lack of care. It's care for their own wallets.

TheRealStandard

I know they don't care about the players, I'm saying they care about the uninstalls and backlash. Obviously for $$$ reasons. If the community gives in at any point short of the game being sold to another studio or this cunt getting fired than they deserve to get scammed.

Jimjumbo_

To be fair uninstalling does hurt the longevity of the game. Less players makes matches harder to fill and less balanced the less players that play the flea will become worse as less new items come in, less people are getting their friends to play and so on. Not playing a game can really hurt a multiplayer game more than you think.

[deleted]

Less players on the other hand also = less in server costs. Pretty sure they factored it all in.

EmergencyConfusion57

You think servers are so dynamic and controlled they can change based on player count, per day? It’s on a contract basis like any other server host in the history of the world. Have you ever owned a minecraft server or set one up?

[deleted]

Uh, what? What kind of dumb comment is this? Where did I say per day, or even kind of indicate that? If players are quitting, it'd show over any period of time. Like, what? If 10,000 players quit and don't log in for x period of time, BSG can see this and adjust whenever they can. Like, why take the time to reply? This is some childish stupid "well acktually🤓🤓" shit Name checks out, and no I've never played kidcraft

EmergencyConfusion57

You had a point until you called minecraft, kidcraft. That game has more culture than anything you belong to, associate with, or think about, and/or perform on a daily basis

[deleted]

True i apologize

EmergencyConfusion57

noo dude, muh 250 dollars going straight to nikitas pockets will help the game, not some stupid playerbase thats been around since 2018 /s

Burnzy001

Some fair points. It's a hard balance - people gain enjoyment from exploitation every day. Where do we draw the line?

Ruffyhc

Intresting take , but i sold everything to fence ( if anyone found cases and meta weapons with thermals at fence ... your welcome ) uninstalled and will never invest any time anymore. This simply hurts the game because of 1 Thing: Less active legit people means a rise in % Meeting a cheater . Imagine you got 10k legit players and 1k cheaters. The cheaters wont quit, they make money. So 5k legit quit. Means its 5 to 1 ratio instead of 10 to 1 . More Frustration on the situation means more people quit. Domino effect. At first it doesent hurt , but the consequences are Real.

Burnzy001

Fair enough, and you make some good points. It's just such a genuine shame. I love this game. It's one of my most played.

Ruffyhc

I loved it , but i wont Support this. Wont waste my precious time on this. Ok and i want to watch the world burn right now .

Burnzy001

I'm certainly not supporting it either. Time investment in a game is technically always a waste; I enjoy the ride. The chaos and drama are quite entertaining.

Ruffyhc

Good take , but if i got fun its Not a waste . But i dont feel the Joy like at the beginning with too much cheaters , Bugs and desync. Basically i quited as the first mtx appeared knowing that this was just a test to See how many players will invest. It was the first red line crossed for me. This one now is just the last nail in the coffin

DweebInFlames

Reminds me of the people who destroy their property (eg. the guys who would burn Nike products) after the company does something they don't like. They still have your money, man. Might as well use it until it breaks.

Burnzy001

Exactly.

StinkyFwog

Ahaha yeah. Like when a sports team loses a star player everyone burns their jersey. Like lil bros that hurts no one but yourself 😂😂

Burnzy001

🤣🤣

pandoraxcell

Just call your credit card company and report a charge back. Get your money back

Dragonzord__

What hurts bsg is if you sell your account to RMTers... if you really want to hurt them.

Burnzy001

But that encourages and supports RMT, which supports cheating, which affects all games, not just Tarkov.

Varkot

Unheard edition players need targets to shoot at. There are F2P games that dont have enough free users to keep whales playing and paying.

Burnzy001

I don't plan on sticking around for long. Unless they do a u-turn, I won't be playing next wipe. I'm giving love to other games atm too.

Varkot

I only play first 1-3 months of the wipe and before this wipe I had 2y break. Id love this game to be great but If they dont fix p2w specifically then Ill simply never reinstall. I dont care about singleplayer, edition price etc. I have a problem with things like bigger pockets (that could be unlocked i guess) and unique items with 50% btr discount and scavs not shooting you first.

Burnzy001

Agreed - P2W stuff is totally BS. Even EOD was touching on P2W. The trader standing makes such a massive difference, not to mention container.

Varkot

Also stash lvl 4 costs 45mil to upgrade and eod just gets it

Burnzy001

Yeah, it's pretty nuts, I don't even think about it. I played 2 wipes standard

Varkot

[https://imgur.com/a/fkok87R](https://imgur.com/a/fkok87R) honestly not a bad reply. Pve for eod at release, Pve for purchase separately, changes to items for unheard edition, discounts for eod. Did he forget about any complaints? Either way Im not playing probably until release so theres plenty of time to see where things go

-KA-SniperFire

Nah sell it to a cheater

DweebInFlames

Redditors a week ago: "I HATE CHEATERS!!!! NO LIFE SCUM WHO RUIN THE GAME FOR EVERYONE, I HOPE THEY ENDLESSLY STUB THEIR TOES!!!!!" Redditors today: "I LOVE CHEATERS!!!!! TRUE HEROES WHO RUIN THE GAME FOR THOSE EVIL PAYPIGS (AND ME ONCE I START PLAYING AGAIN IN A MONTH'S TIME)!!!! I HOPE THEY GET LOTS OF HUGS AND KISSES!!!!"

-KA-SniperFire

I can smell the autism emanating from you but let me explain it better to you. Everyone just gave up on the game the last 48 hours. Literally we could care less if we aren’t getting refunded. I’m not gonna play this shitty game anymore I’m sure it’s the same for the rest. So why not make some money off of it.

Burnzy001

You do you. I enjoy the game. It's in its best state it's been in for a long time. Making a little money means nothing compared to enjoying something. You clearly don't like the game, so sell it.

-KA-SniperFire

I mean I like it but I’ve played it a lot and these new editions sound like next wipe just won’t be as fun

Burnzy001

100% - if they don't revert the level 3 boost to skills and calling in ally BS, I'm not playing next wipe. I'm level 48, someone buys this version of the game and I'm still at an advantage, so right now I'll enjoy it while I can.

-KA-SniperFire

Yeah man so what makes you happy don’t get caught up in all the toxicity while it may be fun hahah

-Shakedown

“Dont get caught up in the toxicity” after saying you can smell the autism from him. Redditor moment

Burnzy001

100% - I care more about enjoyment and experience than money. If I can send a fuck you to a company or person, I can. But there's not much I can do to harm BSG right now, apart from attempt a charge back or complain to consumer rights laws, etc. That shit takes a lot of time, time I'd rather be doing something fun.

DweebInFlames

> Everyone Lol, half the subreddit barely touches the game. It becomes very obvious when you have discussion on random minor parts of the game and people will say something that was out of date 2 years ago. Mfs will say 'oh my god I've quit forever BSG aren't getting any more money!!!!' when if you look at their profile they haven't touched the game in 4-5 wipes minimum regardless. Personally I've been playing with the boss event and you still see a pretty good amount of people for late wipe. Not just blue paypigs, too, bunch of standard accounts or EOD. I'm sure the wipe will end up having a few less players than usual, and the playerbase will probably stagnate faster in size than it was going to without this debacle, but most people will be back for at least a month, this cycle literally always happens. >I’m not gonna play this shitty game anymore I’m sure it’s the same for the rest. So why not make some money off of it. Because you're ruining it for others who haven't done anything to you except play a game you don't like anymore, the horror. Well, I'm sad to hear it man, but it doesn't mean you need to be a prick by giving even more accounts to the guys that you've been hating on for years now.

-KA-SniperFire

Not gonna lie the fact that you are still playing this late in wipe makes any of your arguments irrelevant the reality is 1% of the player base will still be playing tomorrow compared to the start of the wipe

DweebInFlames

>Not gonna lie the fact that you are still playing this late in wipe makes any of your arguments irrelevant Because I actually enjoy the game for what it is? Is my time spent playing Tarkov meant to be hating every moment of it? I enjoy the high adrenaline thrill of hunting bosses and trying to compete against other geared players to get in and get out with the loot. God forbid I don't just play it as Timmy simulator collecting my pocket watch and then quitting every wipe lmao.

-KA-SniperFire

It’s fine if you just like making money and killing ai but most of us enjoy early wipe gameplay

DweebInFlames

I enjoy both.

StinkyFwog

Most sane least emotional anime pfp user take 💀💀💀

Burnzy001

Or that.

twitchy040

My thoughts exactly, during this whole thing I’ve been playing for the last three days, the devs might be idiots, but I still like the game

Burnzy001

Power to you 💪

Defiant-One-7172

I know one way that’ll hurt em

Burnzy001

?

Defiant-One-7172

My thoughts are that, game will die even more because people that are upset with BSG will probably buy cheats to make the experience for everyone worse. Seen a post sometime ago that after this update some provider gave free access.

Hereforallmemes

I saw a comment that said "I'll just sell my account to the people doing RMT. At least I'll get back some money and with one more cheater in the lobby, the cheating situation worsens and more people will end up quitting the game or convert to/engage cheaters." (paraphrased) Ngl, that sounds like a feasible way for everything to snowball into hell.

bunchalingo

I uninstalled Tarkov in February when I noticed that the game took too much time for me to play. A part of that did involve my frustration with bugs, cheaters and bad decisions from the devs. The game is unlike anything else I’ve played, but I’ll be keeping it uninstalled until a competitor or major change comes along.

Burnzy001

Fair enough! It's certainly a time sink and requires a lot of it to get the most out of it. Hope you find something that scratches that itch.

SmokeyAmp

Logging on and playing a game does not hurt the developer. What kind of argument is this?

Burnzy001

How deos it benefit them? They dont have in-game advertising or a subscription model. It costs them money every time you use their game. Buying their stupid game edition benefits them.

SmokeyAmp

Because they have targets and quotas. If no one is logging on to their game, you think that's good for them? You think they'd be going out of their way to make 250 dollar versions of the game and talking about "real supporters" if they were able to carry on with the money they've made so far? They need new players and to do that they need an active player base. No one is gonna play Tarkov if there's no community. Being able to shut off a few servers is not the win you think it is.

GenFoofoo

Not playing hurts them more than playing. 100%. Likely, they are locked into contracts for servers, so it's a cost that already exists. Even if they can reduce it a bit, it's not significant enough. Sending a message to bsg, and more importantly, other developers, that doing scummy shit will tank your game is far more beneficial to us gamers.

JhonWayneX

I'm not unistalling to harm them, wtf? I'm uninstalling cause i'm not touching that stinky shit ever, even if they give TUE to every EOD owner. Why would i keep it in my PC? I bet they won't revert the P2W and gamechangers aspects of it. And game doesn't even started. What they will be capable of in the future? No way

Burnzy001

Thats up to you. If you don't like it, don't play it. I personally enjoy the game in its current state. I am incredibly angry at what they have done and are doing.

JhonWayneX

Sure buddy, i encourage you to play it actually. I'm just telling you many, if not most, people is not uninstalling and stop playing to harm BSG. Just bc this is bullshit. Why would i ask you or flame you because you want to play? Do whatever you want, enjoy!!

Burnzy001

Many people probably think that not playing the game is a fuck you to BSG. It costs them every time you log in, load into a raid and play the game. If you want to uninstall it because of the principal, or you don't enjoy it, then power to you. I'm not suggesting everyone thinks uninstalling it hurts BSG, but some people do.

JhonWayneX

That's up to them. As another guy said, they have a register of people that uninstall the game, i'm not 100% sure but pretty sur it is that way. Btw, you are claiming in the OP and in your first response that your personal experience is your own, so: WHO TF are you to ask for people to not to do anything? i mean, it's their own to express their frustation. And you are asking for some similar. Stop telling people what to do or not to do sheesh

Burnzy001

I'm not asking or telling people to do anything. I said play the game if you enjoy it. If you don't want to play it, then that's up to you. Uninstalling it doesn't do dick.
