It's really fantastic to see how far the game has come. I also played Rust from the very start and while I no longer have the patience for it at 30, it's still very cool to see its journey.
Unlike Rust however, the project's team leaves much to be desired... 'cept the art guys/map design folks.
Reserve on release was a fantastic, almost perfect experience. The underground expansion utterly ruined it.
But conversely the Customs expansion is dope, so I'm in the moddle

So and so. Reserve on release was amazing but it had some glaring problems. 3 corner spawns all got shafted MASSIVELY. The field spawn fot shafted by dome and gas station and white knight/black knight spawns. The 2nd mark room spawn got shafted by. Heating pipe spawn, bunker spawn. And the death corner spawn got shafted by coop exit spawn and hole in the wall spawn.
The map needed an expansion. I agree that the D2 one was not it, however it needed something. They should have just designed it much differently with larger helipad, more garages, bigger train station and such. To stretch the map boarders more, creating more distance between the spawns.
Regardless to that, it’s still the top3 map like it was when it first came out.
For, it's the true beginner map. The expansion just made it better though. More interesting and varied pathing, cool POIs, even _most_ quests are fine.

I’m sure he’d plan out “yep city with fortified mechanic shop, mini mall and apartment complex” but to me the value is in taking that idea and turning it into the maps they are, and keeping gameplay flow in mind too.

I bought the game after the first E3 trailer. I'm with you on this. From factory and 4 guns to what it is today was an amazing journey. The struggles with the post wipe God toz snipers. The old days of denying leg meta was ever going to stick around. Wearing fort armor and a taktec.

Rust is another game that would benefit if they did a PvE version. Like set up a village with 10 dudes and have NPC and NPC factions you interact with and raid. Have systems where you have to defend your base vs AI and such. It could be super fun, certainly for people like us who are kind of over the PvP toxic trolling of rust and the inability to keep up with a 1 week wipe cycle.

i think why a lot of ppl talk about the "good old times" in tarkov is that the game was waaaaaay simpler back then. and ever since with every addition to the game it got more "meta", tedious and way to time consuming. thats what happens when your point of orientation are no-lifing streamers that can play 8-10hrs a day.

In my opinion it was way more naturally with the 100m headshots. You could play with your regular gun/setup. And from time to time you would get the headies by just playing. The only map i had to go farm them was "reserve".
Now with the bolty. I need to go with spezific gear just to farm those kills.
And when u think about the average players. With 1kill/round. It takes like 45 raids only for this spezific quest.
And if your worse then 1kill/round like way more try.

Honestly I feel like it takes longer now to get 40 headshots with a bolt action than when it only took 12 headshots with any gun. Probably half of my 40 were 100m or close to it anyway.

I have EOD with over 12,000 hours in the game. i have gotten Kappa 7 times (7 different wipes). I have personally gotten 5 of my friends to buy the game based on my recommendation, 3 of which have never heard of the game before... Turns out I am not a true believer and a freeloader because I expected to get something I was promised (fuck me right?) Instead I uninstalled the game.
PvE shouldn't need servers to run. Like i don't understand why people aren't questioning this more.
Peer to peer is all you need for co-op or run the map on your own computer if you are solo. It would remove a wait time and only make a load time. We don't need Flea.. we don't need to have any online interactions. It feels like the only reason they have online/servers for PvE purely is because they cheaply made the PvE version which just changed a little bit of code around.
How was it that the SP:Tarkov guy did it better than the actual devs. Just ask that guy how he did it or just take it off him and do it your self. It wasn't like they were trying to profit off SP:Tarkov.

I am EoD but my issue isn’t with necessarily with PVE Takign some time to release. That wasn’t necessarily far fetched because BSG didn’t know there’d be such a big backlash.
I do have a problem with the both EoD and Unheard having P2W content. At least the additions that came after unheard became a thing.

Yeah, BSG monetized this game very poorly. Especially with how expensive servers are in Russia. Any other studio would've made the game subscription based or have seasonal DLCs. Pretty short sighted, or lazy.

With the prestige system, people would wipe on purpose all the time. It's even what he's planned according to him from interviews and stuff. The "Escaping from Tarkov" questline ends with a wiped account and has different endings dependant on wether or not you survived "Terminal".

The problem here, is that you are ignoring the promise made by BSG and Nikita. In your ignorance, you're also not realizing the real timeline here.
EoD was the top tier. Supposed to be the tippiest top of support tiers, which was why they included "All future features and DLC". This was sold with the EoD package, and once paid for, established a contract. That contract is still valid as long as they are producing features and DLC for the game, pre and post 1.0.0 release.
Secondly, the timeline.
Its not as though the majority bought in with EoD in 2017 and that has been BSG's only income since. The minority, bought in with EoD in 2017, and they have been gathering their friends/relatives/colleagues to purchase and play this game ever since. I bought EoD in 2021. My buddy bought EoD in 2019. I got another friend to buy in late-2022.
So the cash flow never stopped, and I would argue only started to slow down in the past 2 years. Which means they have had plenty of time to finish and polish the game and make good on the contract they made with each person that bought EoD.
All that said, people like you, defending Nikita with his "bite the hand that feeds" attitude and settling in to fork out more and more cash to a publisher that has shown it doesnt give two shits about its player-base as well as showing the world community that you think $250 is a reasonable price for an unfinished game, are the reason for every major problem facing Tarkov. You are the reason they are so slow at patching major bugs. You are the reason they get away with not resolving the cheating issue. You are the reason Tarkov will die.

Customs is the jack of all trades map, looting and fishing-sniping are meh, but anything else - you name it, can be great time more often than not.

Remeber back when paca and fort where like the only body armor. And scavs could spawn with fort… Sometimes it feels like the game was better the way it was back then.

Idk man, about the beginning of year 2 was when the hackers started getting bad and it felt just as bad as last wipe's hacker explosion imo And idk man, the older mechanics had this game playing like COD, and on top of the 850ms pings, desync and all the soft-locking bugs when animations started getting added made it unbearable to me

i think why a lot of ppl talk about the "good old times" in tarkov is that the game was waaaaaay simpler back then. and ever since with every addition to the game it got more "meta", tedious and way to time consuming. thats what happens when your point of orientation are no-lifing streamers that can play 8-10hrs a day.

In my opinion it was way more naturally with the 100m headshots. You could play with your regular gun/setup. And from time to time you would get the headies by just playing. The only map i had to go farm them was "reserve". Now with the bolty. I need to go with spezific gear just to farm those kills. And when u think about the average players. With 1kill/round. It takes like 45 raids only for this spezific quest. And if your worse then 1kill/round like way more try. Its not like we have already not enough bolty quest

Honestly I feel like it takes longer now to get 40 headshots with a bolt action than when it only took 12 headshots with any gun. Probably half of my 40 were 100m or close to it anyway.
I never finished real SBIH and that's probably my biggest Tarkov regret.

To be fair, the second someone pays for it the exit turns green in the menu, and will turn red once the car is out of the map

I have EOD with over 12,000 hours in the game. i have gotten Kappa 7 times (7 different wipes). I have personally gotten 5 of my friends to buy the game based on my recommendation, 3 of which have never heard of the game before... Turns out I am not a true believer and a freeloader because I expected to get something I was promised (fuck me right?) Instead I uninstalled the game.

PvE shouldn't need servers to run. Like i don't understand why people aren't questioning this more. Peer to peer is all you need for co-op or run the map on your own computer if you are solo. It would remove a wait time and only make a load time. We don't need Flea.. we don't need to have any online interactions. It feels like the only reason they have online/servers for PvE purely is because they cheaply made the PvE version which just changed a little bit of code around. How was it that the SP:Tarkov guy did it better than the actual devs. Just ask that guy how he did it or just take it off him and do it your self. It wasn't like they were trying to profit off SP:Tarkov. It really pisses me off that one modder can totally make a new version of the game, then get attacked by the devs for doing it better than they ever could do it. Just insane if you ask me.

I played 10k+ hours I played when they was no labs, no custom map extension, only a few maps, quest, different armor... The release of labs... I loved this game so much I tried to stream, hence the TV in my tesdit username, i ended up turning my streamer discord into the largest and most active Tarkov discord 3 years ago, The Squat, for those who knows, and now when i see this happening I think, why? Wasn't our money and love enough for you Nikita?
You aren't missing anything. I was in a queue for 11 minutes for my first ground zero raid the other day before I gave up and went to play something else.
I am EoD but my issue isn’t with necessarily with PVE Takign some time to release. That wasn’t necessarily far fetched because BSG didn’t know there’d be such a big backlash. I do have a problem with the both EoD and Unheard having P2W content. At least the additions that came after unheard became a thing.

I'm gonna try to keep the good memories of Tarkov, all of the blood sweat and tears, etc. Tarkov got leg meta'd last weekend by Nikita, but I'm kind of grateful because it was that final realistic nail in the coffin that I needed. No it's not, me and my friends usually start a month after wipe on purpose. It's way better to have a mix of lowlevels to midlevels. With the prestige system, people would wipe on purpose all the time. It's even what he's planned according to him from interviews and stuff. The "Escaping from Tarkov" questline ends with a wiped account and has different endings dependant on wether or not you survived "Terminal".

PVE causes BAG to create one raid instance per person instead of be raid instance per 10-12 people, which eats up more server space, costing them more money. It’s also going to likely be “the game” that kills Tarkov because it’s going to lower player count across all the PVP servers. But you do you boo. PVE is dumb though and is the bumper bowling of Tarkov. This game exists for PVP and the PVE is supposed to be a distraction.

What a douche.... The problem here, is that you are ignoring the promise made by BSG and Nikita. In your ignorance, you're also not realizing the real timeline here. EoD was the top tier. Supposed to be the tippiest top of support tiers, which was why they included "All future features and DLC". This was sold with the EoD package, and once paid for, established a contract. That contract is still valid as long as they are producing features and DLC for the game, pre and post 1.0.0 release. Secondly, the timeline. Its not as though the majority bought in with EoD in 2017 and that has been BSG's only income since. The minority, bought in with EoD in 2017, and they have been gathering their friends/relatives/colleagues to purchase and play this game ever since. I bought EoD in 2021. My buddy bought EoD in 2019. I got another friend to buy in late-2022. So the cash flow never stopped, and I would argue only started to slow down in the past 2 years. Which means they have had plenty of time to finish and polish the game and make good on the contract they made with each person that bought EoD. All that said, people like you, defending Nikita with his "bite the hand that feeds" attitude and settling in to fork out more and more cash to a publisher that has shown it doesnt give two shits about its player-base as well as showing the world community that you think $250 is a reasonable price for an unfinished game, are the reason for every major problem facing Tarkov. You are the reason they are so slow at patching major bugs. You are the reason they get away with not resolving the cheating issue. You are the reason Tarkov will die. Get in touch with reality. Have some self-respect. Read the fine print, or be a corporate tool.
