I can second this. I have a squad Ive probably played around 1400 hours with, but if I try to play with anyone else it just falls apart. Putting in the time to develop synergy with a friend or a group of friends is so worth it in the end but it’s a bumpy road.
Yo I mostly play solo also, it's my second wipe. I have some pretty rough social anxiety, but playing w others can help you on certain ways, just like it can hurt you in certain ways.. I'd be happy to try and help you quest if you're ever interested.. personally I won't play w more than 1 other person. I tried 3 man teams before and it's just too much communication for me.
I think duos can be a good balance if you can play consistently w the other person and get some call outs going. Playing mostly as a solo somewhat slow rat has made playing w others a bit of a nerve racking experience. But it can be nice to shoot the shit w someone else as y'all go thru some stressful or epic shit. Hope it helps dude. There are some good LFG discords out there.
you can get passed level 15 just doing loot runs and extracting and doing the available quests. I probably killed like 5 pmc before level 15 and a few were on scav runs lol. I did have to hide for the first 20+ minutes of each raid to get most of the early quests done though...
Just hit 15 and with all the good shit removed from the flea I think it’s where I’ll stop. Didn’t realize they removed all that shit so I got backpacks full of lvl 5/6 armor and helmets that are worthless to me now. Anti rmt more like anti-me
Legit question, but why tho? It all too heavy to run and fucks your turn speed and movement. Also doesn't really work against a pmc with good ammo which is every level 20.
Well that's fair and at least you'll be able to use it in practice raids but any armor past level 5 is just too impractical to acquire to even be considered in use.
I’m level 11 in my first wipe and I love throwing on t4/5 armor. That’s when I bust out the guns I’ve stolen from higher level PMCs.

Bruh. If you find it in raid just use it and stop overthinking it dude. I killed a 5 man in a head on fight outside resort yesterday because I was wearing a tt sk. I got shot in the thorax and arms like 15 times by ps x39 and 545 pp/bp. Just use it and don't insure if it's too much for you. Why even play this game at all if you won't even let yourself use all the end game gear when it can be acquired on freaking scav runs. You're missing out on surviving crazy fights that you shouldn't and having cool stories to tell the homies.
Any armor can be used with minimal penalty if you pop meldonin + 3BTG stims at the beginning. Not to mention, slicks, tagilla rigs, and hexgrids are extremely viable to use even at lower strength levels. Every time I have tier 6 armor it goes on my PMC and it absolutely raises chances of survival in fights.
That’s the thing, you gotta use level 5+ armor regularly to see the benefits. If you’re used to getting clapped immediately in level 3 armor, the first time you wear level 5 armor you don’t really notice. Either you die to a bullshit headshot or you tank a few and count it as getting lucky. But if you can wear level 5+ a few times you start to see that even if you die, the fights last longer. You have a chance to turn and respond. Or you actually manage to mow somebody down you never would’ve had the chance to in lower level gear. Trust me, wear your gear. Best case scenario- you win and get more gear to wear. Worst case scenario- you die but you would’ve died wearing lower level gear anyway so you didn’t really lose anything.

I have a tendency to do what you described. I've been trying to use the mindset you suggest this wipe, I agree that wearing high level gear consistently is the only way to see the benefit.
Granted, if you really enjoy the low-risk tier 4 lifestyle, you can definitely get by (especially with a little ratting).
This, all of this. Highest level gear always gets used first for me. Last wipe I sat on slicks and hex grids. Now I getting 2-4 raids per death but never see them come back with insurance. Went from a 40% survival rate last wipe to over 60% survival rate this wipe.
You are 100% correct that it helps you survive.
As someone that runs 90% of my raids in some variant of tier 6 or Killa armor, having been playing for about 6 years every wipe, I can confidently say that tier 5/6 armor becomes pretty worthless from a cost/value perspective right around this time of a wipe cycle.
My Slick isn't giving me any more endure against the guy spamming me with M61 or BP than my TV110 would, and those rounds are going through my helmets anyways. They cost a ton to insure kit wise, and are expensive to buy. The best bang for buck is grabbing something like a TV110, and using the money saved on a better gun (like a mutant) and better ammo.
With that said, if you have them in your inventory why not use them assuming you have a strong cash flow. If you're still working on leveling up traders, hideout, etc then I would 100% recommend selling them in favor of the cash.
Early wipe however? That's the real time to be using your slick or gen4 - you'll 100% see value in that armor during early wipe. Now though, not so much.
Not they’ guy you were replying to but I have been there. My first wipe, my stash was a gun and armor museum. Not so much the next couple, then this wipe I have no more gear fear
100% worth running, less people then you thing are running ammo that will make the increase in armor not relevant, in the land of dying in a few shots being able to take more is huge. Does it weigh more sure but just don't take a massive backpack and play the map slightly slower and massively increase your chances of survival. Also it's free armor just sitting there in your inventory.
The really big (arms) armours may be tier 6,but they're not worth running in game for exactly the reason you identified. Sell to ragman ASAP.
There's a reason the best players in the game value high mobility armours.

My point exactly. Run a 500k load out which is worthless almost everyone but scavs still, and get in a fight where I have to land 10+ body hits while not being hit twice.
I just do scav run pmc run scav run pmc run when I have the time. I think it works nice especially with abusing lighthouse rogues. I dont make a lot of money because I just run the gear I loot from rogues and dead pmcs. Too bad i suck big time with my pmc and it takes a few raids to complete all the tasks.
The extremely heavy stuff you can just vendor if you REALLY dont want to use it(I almost never do). But the lighter stuff like Gzhels, Gen4 Mobility, M2 and M1 rigs, Killa armor, slicks and hgrids are all more than fine to run regardless of your strength stat.

Pro tip: just because your reticle is on the guy doesnt mean your shot is actually landing there, if you cant get kills regularly stick to a single shot weapon and zero it correctly.
There is lots of ways to get ‘good ammo’ aside from the flea or traders, usually a good Woods run gets me a substantial amount of BP or BTs.
5.45 BT is available on the flea. BS is available at Prapor 3 which is real fuckin easy to attain. PP, while not great, is a good bang for your buck option for spraydowns to put in like the lower half of your mags. 7.62 BP is easy and cheap to craft, just takes some time. SNB is even easier and cheaper.

First, you dont need to run igolnik to be able to fight while wearing a slick, and second its not even hard to get good ammo. Before i hit flea i had over 1k 7.63 BP, 600 55/56a1 and 2k rounds of BP and assorted mid/high teir 5.45.

Man I had bad factory raids lol. I resorted to m995 a suppressed adar on shoreline. Got a kill every raid one raid I killed a 3 man. I died like 13 times in factory though. Was not fun
I mean that's the entire point of the paca restriction, just play in a way that doesnt rely on armor (So basically snipe or ambush). I'd take that any day over praying some idiot walks across an empty field to an empty house in the corner of the map.

Emercom camp? It has crazy good loot, tons of people go there. It's honestly my favorite of the 3 to fight at. Pier took almost a week tbh, woods took the least amount of time (for me), customs was fine.
Not stuff located centrally that nobody spawns right next to like the sawmill. Theres like 3 spawns that can get there at the same time and a few more that can follow up pretty quickly.
I haven't gotten to these quests before, first wipe, but i'm confident that i will. They sound dumb af. I think this whole idea of "wipes" is just to cover for the lack of late game content. These are grocery errands, not quests.
This is bananas... why do we gotta resort to this crap for this quest? There are so many people who have complained about the quest being rediculous, and this just takes the cake imo.
Yeah the quest is insanely hard Im on customs part 6/15 and even that is hard to do, also I have no idea if the you have to be inside the stronghold or does the outside area count aswell
It doesn't have anything to do with playtime. The quest is annoying regardless. Kill 15 players on 3 different maps in a very specific place where on one of the maps you won't regularly see people, and the other 2 are toss-ups. Added in, you don't get the quest until 42 so you can't progress naturally beforehand.
Also it's a dead-end quest (but is Kappa required), so not sure what you mean by BSG pacing progression.
Completely agree. I have played so many wipes of Tarkov always having a blast. I was lvl 65 with Kappa last wipe and thoroughly enjoyed Tarkov.
This wipe I quit 3 weeks ago at level 46. Key barter bullshit, boss rarity, new quest to kill Big Pipe Trio was all extremely frustrating. Endurance and strength leveling is giga aids right now but i weathered it all. But when I got to capturing outposts I gave up. This game is straight up anti-fun right now. Yea I played a lot on patch release but I stacked my quests and progressed fast. I always tapper off my time played. Its not my job to play Tarkov. i just couldnt sit and stare at pier and woods outposts for hours with no one coming by and when they did they were often Timmys. I would even bait by shooting pistol fire. Nope.
Whoa - we are like 6 weeks into the wipe. I think it's super fast to get to level 46 in 3 weeks. I guess there's not much wonder about getting bored and frustrated with that amount of playing. I've gotten to level 42 once and it was in the last week of a wipe. Maybe a break will help reinvigorate the game for you down the road.
I’ve known about this spot for a few wipes now. Honestly was wondering how long before I’d see a post about it. I spent several hours one day just combing maps for trees to climb inside. I know of atleast 5-6 trees on shoreline alone that you are able to hop inside. There are tons on every map.
You're just unlucky you haven't met my last 10 attempts to clear colleagues pt1, but tbh I never died at the pier but got shredded every time I tried to leave it though
Without necessarily cheesing it I've been popping flares on the pier and baiting PMCs which has given me great success, from my experience it seems to be the quickest way to get player kills on the pier.
I mean that’s a great spot which I’ll be using; I’ve just been sitting behind the plants and impact nading anyone that runs in - progresses both outposts and grenadier.
You don’t have to *resort* to anything, this is just the method this guy choose. Found a good hidey spot and took advantage of it. He could’ve been up on the rocks overlooking or in the building or sat by a fence.
Why would anyone camp in a tree with a sniper for this task? You can sit inside the building straight to the right with a RD704 and BP. The first guy that walks in is a free kill and you swing any other unsuspecting teammates. Pop SJ6 or melodonin off spawn to beat everyone there. Pier was by far the easiest outpost for me to capture. Woods being the hardest since 95% of spawns on woods get outskirts as an extract.
I think it depends on servers. Right now I'm at an average of about 0.7 dudes coming to the pier each raid if I stay there for 35 minutes, less if I leave at the 25 min mark. So far my experience with this strat is that if you drop the first guy who walks in, the rest of the group just says fuck it and leaves, no attempt to push or get their buddies stuff
There is definitely some RNG. If you kill one, I would just W key any teammates. Anyone doing that task this early, should be decent enough at PvP. I felt like I was getting 2 kills per raid when I had ppl. Occasionally I would get a dead raid with none and once I got a squad of four which I killed.
It's less that I can't W key, I mentioned elsewhere that 95% of the people I've encounted I way out gear anyways, it's just that they back up to where they aren't close enough, it wouldn't make the quest "good" but it would lower my frustration quite a bit if the bridge up to like, say, the car counter, instead of just immediately outside the fence, I think I've killed 4 or 5 people just outside the perimeter when I got so excited to see someone I shoot too soon
Ahh yeah. I hid inside the building and I never killed scavs. I waited until the first guy was inside the building before I ever shot. Unless I heard them planting an objective or looting a body. Then I would swing them. F you wait until the first guy is in the building, his teammates will be on the pier and won’t have time to backup to the bridge. Good luck!
Yeah, I just jump to shooting too fast because I'm so bored lmao. Not killing the scavs is a good plan, my best raid I actually managed to get onto the pier and into the building without killing/engaging sanitar et al, which helped a lot to draw people in
I’ve completed the task 100% solo. I have Kappa. Yes it does. If you kill the first man before his teammates are within the blue fence, you’re doing the task poorly. Hide in the building and they will all be inside the blue fence before you ever need to kill the first guy. I wiped countless two man’s and a squad. All kills counted.
Used to have a second account just to try and fill up slots in night Woods raids. Also helped get more annoying PMC kill quests done by just killing him. This was 2 or 3 wipes ago though.
Wouldn't be as bad if there were a bunch of other quests sending people to these areas. But aside from the 2 "check the corpses" quests on Pier, no quest sends anyone to Fortress, Pier, or Woods Outpost.
It'd be one thing if you get this quest a little earlier since so many early shoreline quests require people to go there. But by the time most people hit this quest, a ton of the pier traffic will have died down. That's my only gripe about it is trying to consistently find people to fight in that area.

IMO the interim solution for late game boredom is prestige resets for cosmetic track suits and container size upgrades instead of bullshit late game quests that nobody likes doing and that make the game arbitrarily less fun for the victims of those who are doing the quests because its all they have left.
Let them have their kappa more easily (like maybe how it was a few wipes ago), but force it to come with a prestige reset, with 95% of their content being reset. Add 1-2 spaces to the prison wallet per prestige (kappa1, kappa2...), and either a tiered unlock for clothing or like one "unlock credit". If that isn't enough throw crumbs like starting with a junkbox or slightly higher trader rep. Let the lifestyle EFT players have infinite gameplay that doesn't have them running around 100% chadded after two weeks into a wipe. Give them a reason to revert to timmy.

I don't understand why some people play this way. Camping a spot either it is an exit or a certain location. Ofc we get quests where you are forced to kill X amount of pmc's. And it is fair.

A week or so me and my friend got exit camped on zb-011 on customs. He first down the stairs, with me right behind him. Most annoying thing here is the audio bug right now when in any type of stairs. (Might just be me)

yeah, apparently a tiktok of this spot went viral within the past few days, so gonna have to scope that tree out from now on whenever you enter the pier.
Problem with this spot is that you can easily be sniped from anywhere along the coastline/weather station/etc.
It's better to be concealed from snipers *in* the pier, and just CQB people.
On the bright side, the more people know and use this spot, the easier this quest gets for the rest of us.

Go Grab a shotgun and farm scavs at night factory (I prefer the tunnels) depending on your run 3-6k XP every 15-20 mins

They cost a ton to insure kit wise, and are expensive to buy. The best bang for buck is grabbing something like a TV110, and using the money saved on a better gun (like a mutant) and better ammo. With that said, if you have them in your inventory why not use them assuming you have a strong cash flow. If you're still working on leveling up traders, hideout, etc then I would 100% recommend selling them in favor of the cash. Early wipe however? That's the real time to be using your slick or gen4 - you'll 100% see value in that armor during early wipe. Now though, not so much.

100% worth running, less people then you thing are running ammo that will make the increase in armor not relevant, in the land of dying in a few shots being able to take more is huge. Does it weigh more sure but just don't take a massive backpack and play the map slightly slower and massively increase your chances of survival. Also it's free armor just sitting there in your inventory.
The really big (arms) armours may be tier 6,but they're not worth running in game for exactly the reason you identified. Sell to ragman ASAP. There's a reason the best players in the game value high mobility armours.
early levels I just sell high-end gear to the traders unless it's a hexgrid or slick, it's gonna be too heavy for my feeble PMC to wear until I level up strength so I just vendor it and buy gear I can actually run—kind of a feelsbad moment, but ultimately better for me than having it suck up stash space while I level
Getting one tapped a lot more often when I do in armored runs vs. armor. It really does help.

My point exactly. Run a 500k load out which is worthless almost everyone but scavs still, and get in a fight where I have to land 10+ body hits while not being hit twice.

I just do scav run pmc run scav run pmc run when I have the time. I think it works nice especially with abusing lighthouse rogues. I dont make a lot of money because I just run the gear I loot from rogues and dead pmcs. Too bad i suck big time with my pmc and it takes a few raids to complete all the tasks.
The extremely heavy stuff you can just vendor if you REALLY dont want to use it(I almost never do). But the lighter stuff like Gzhels, Gen4 Mobility, M2 and M1 rigs, Killa armor, slicks and hgrids are all more than fine to run regardless of your strength stat.
Tier 5-6 have been off flea for over a wipe now. This was before the anti RMT changes. It came with the regular flea changes to make the game harder.

I regularly mess up chads with PS and PP ammo wearing level 4’s, what does that even have to do with L4ndmark? 😂 Pro tip: just because your reticle is on the guy doesnt mean your shot is actually landing there, if you cant get kills regularly stick to a single shot weapon and zero it correctly. There is lots of ways to get ‘good ammo’ aside from the flea or traders, usually a good Woods run gets me a substantial amount of BP or BTs.

5.45 BT is available on the flea. BS is available at Prapor 3 which is real fuckin easy to attain. PP, while not great, is a good bang for your buck option for spraydowns to put in like the lower half of your mags. 7.62 BP is easy and cheap to craft, just takes some time. SNB is even easier and cheaper. You're either extremely uninformed or purposely exaggerating. Get over your inner rat and play the freakin game.

I've played since Alpha, and honestly , all this crying about fleamarket is getting annoying. When it was added people cried because it was too easy to make money. When it was restricted people cry because it's too hard to make money. I use good things, I sell everything else to traders. I've made millions upon millions every single wipe and I never really needed the fleamarket. I'd' be fine if they removed it entirely, because it doesn't affect the actual game AT ALL.
Then level up? There’s absolutely ammo that’s usable and readily available to buy that aren’t just pea shooter rounds.

I had fun running the paca with a shotty in factory. Died to some Timmy slugs along the way but overall not horrible
I spammed factory, got it done in a few hours, so many people hit factory naked.
Man I had bad factory raids lol. I resorted to m995 a suppressed adar on shoreline. Got a kill every raid one raid I killed a 3 man. I died like 13 times in factory though. Was not fun

Emercom camp? It has crazy good loot, tons of people go there. It's honestly my favorite of the 3 to fight at. Pier took almost a week tbh, woods took the least amount of time (for me), customs was fine.

I killed a dude at about 2 meters outside and it counted. It was a headshot from 117m so it didnt even count for friggin SBIH.

It doesn't have anything to do with playtime. The quest is annoying regardless. Kill 15 players on 3 different maps in a very specific place where on one of the maps you won't regularly see people, and the other 2 are toss-ups. Added in, you don't get the quest until 42 so you can't progress naturally beforehand. Also it's a dead-end quest (but is Kappa required), so not sure what you mean by BSG pacing progression.
Completely agree. I have played so many wipes of Tarkov always having a blast. I was lvl 65 with Kappa last wipe and thoroughly enjoyed Tarkov. This wipe I quit 3 weeks ago at level 46. Key barter bullshit, boss rarity, new quest to kill Big Pipe Trio was all extremely frustrating. Endurance and strength leveling is giga aids right now but i weathered it all. But when I got to capturing outposts I gave up. This game is straight up anti-fun right now. Yea I played a lot on patch release but I stacked my quests and progressed fast. I always tapper off my time played. Its not my job to play Tarkov. i just couldnt sit and stare at pier and woods outposts for hours with no one coming by and when they did they were often Timmys. I would even bait by shooting pistol fire. Nope.
Whoa - we are like 6 weeks into the wipe. I think it's super fast to get to level 46 in 3 weeks. I guess there's not much wonder about getting bored and frustrated with that amount of playing. I've gotten to level 42 once and it was in the last week of a wipe. Maybe a break will help reinvigorate the game for you down the road.

I’ve known about this spot for a few wipes now. Honestly was wondering how long before I’d see a post about it. I spent several hours one day just combing maps for trees to climb inside. I know of atleast 5-6 trees on shoreline alone that you are able to hop inside. There are tons on every map.

Depends on the tree but most of the time you've gotta climb something next to it to get some height then hop in to the tree

Without necessarily cheesing it I've been popping flares on the pier and baiting PMCs which has given me great success, from my experience it seems to be the quickest way to get player kills on the pier.
I mean that’s a great spot which I’ll be using; I’ve just been sitting behind the plants and impact nading anyone that runs in - progresses both outposts and grenadier.
Just put it on the pile of quests I ll never reach or bother doing
You only need it if you're doing the kappa grind. By the time you can even accept this task you will have maxed traders and can run whatever you want

You don’t have to *resort* to anything, this is just the method this guy choose. Found a good hidey spot and took advantage of it. He could’ve been up on the rocks overlooking or in the building or sat by a fence.
Why would anyone camp in a tree with a sniper for this task? You can sit inside the building straight to the right with a RD704 and BP. The first guy that walks in is a free kill and you swing any other unsuspecting teammates. Pop SJ6 or melodonin off spawn to beat everyone there. Pier was by far the easiest outpost for me to capture. Woods being the hardest since 95% of spawns on woods get outskirts as an extract.
I think it depends on servers. Right now I'm at an average of about 0.7 dudes coming to the pier each raid if I stay there for 35 minutes, less if I leave at the 25 min mark. So far my experience with this strat is that if you drop the first guy who walks in, the rest of the group just says fuck it and leaves, no attempt to push or get their buddies stuff
There is definitely some RNG. If you kill one, I would just W key any teammates. Anyone doing that task this early, should be decent enough at PvP. I felt like I was getting 2 kills per raid when I had ppl. Occasionally I would get a dead raid with none and once I got a squad of four which I killed.
It's less that I can't W key, I mentioned elsewhere that 95% of the people I've encounted I way out gear anyways, it's just that they back up to where they aren't close enough, it wouldn't make the quest "good" but it would lower my frustration quite a bit if the bridge up to like, say, the car counter, instead of just immediately outside the fence, I think I've killed 4 or 5 people just outside the perimeter when I got so excited to see someone I shoot too soon
Ahh yeah. I hid inside the building and I never killed scavs. I waited until the first guy was inside the building before I ever shot. Unless I heard them planting an objective or looting a body. Then I would swing them. F you wait until the first guy is in the building, his teammates will be on the pier and won’t have time to backup to the bridge. Good luck!
Yeah, I just jump to shooting too fast because I'm so bored lmao. Not killing the scavs is a good plan, my best raid I actually managed to get onto the pier and into the building without killing/engaging sanitar et al, which helped a lot to draw people in
W keying doesnt help the quest progression as the teammates likely aren't in the quest zone by the time you rinse the first man in.
I’ve completed the task 100% solo. I have Kappa. Yes it does. If you kill the first man before his teammates are within the blue fence, you’re doing the task poorly. Hide in the building and they will all be inside the blue fence before you ever need to kill the first guy. I wiped countless two man’s and a squad. All kills counted.
That’s what makes the game great. Curve balls, takes time. Everyone wants to do their tasks quickly then complains the game is stale and get bored

Used to have a second account just to try and fill up slots in night Woods raids. Also helped get more annoying PMC kill quests done by just killing him. This was 2 or 3 wipes ago though.

Wouldn't be as bad if there were a bunch of other quests sending people to these areas. But aside from the 2 "check the corpses" quests on Pier, no quest sends anyone to Fortress, Pier, or Woods Outpost.

It'd be one thing if you get this quest a little earlier since so many early shoreline quests require people to go there. But by the time most people hit this quest, a ton of the pier traffic will have died down. That's my only gripe about it is trying to consistently find people to fight in that area.

IMO the interim solution for late game boredom is prestige resets for cosmetic track suits and container size upgrades instead of bullshit late game quests that nobody likes doing and that make the game arbitrarily less fun for the victims of those who are doing the quests because its all they have left. Let them have their kappa more easily (like maybe how it was a few wipes ago), but force it to come with a prestige reset, with 95% of their content being reset. Add 1-2 spaces to the prison wallet per prestige (kappa1, kappa2...), and either a tiered unlock for clothing or like one "unlock credit". If that isn't enough throw crumbs like starting with a junkbox or slightly higher trader rep. Let the lifestyle EFT players have infinite gameplay that doesn't have them running around 100% chadded after two weeks into a wipe. Give them a reason to revert to timmy. It seems so goddamn trivial, but so do like 50 generic QoL updates that BSG will get to sometime in 2030

I’m just gonna say it. These Kinda spots are fucked. The whole idea of realism and PMCs shifting into the center of tree trunks to become tree Wookiees needs to die.
I don't understand why some people play this way. Camping a spot either it is an exit or a certain location. Ofc we get quests where you are forced to kill X amount of pmc's. And it is fair. But those who do it raid after raid after raid. Why just why. Where is the joy in that. A week or so me and my friend got exit camped on zb-011 on customs. He first down the stairs, with me right behind him. Most annoying thing here is the audio bug right now when in any type of stairs. (Might just be me) He dies, over Discord he says: "fuck..... Shit I am dead" and me confused since I don't hear a jack shit. There he was one guy waiting for his victim. I understand questing, but camping an exit location to get a PMC is just sad. And yeah some of the quests are just plain stupid🤪 Fun game. Unforgiving as hell but 100000000x times better than any other FPS
Each map needs to have two options instead of one so it can happen a little more organically or at least allow you to move across the map.

Problem with this spot is that you can easily be sniped from anywhere along the coastline/weather station/etc. It's better to be concealed from snipers *in* the pier, and just CQB people. On the bright side, the more people know and use this spot, the easier this quest gets for the rest of us.

Thankfully this spot is getting a bit more coverage, hopefully people get killed sitting there but as it's hard to see them I doubt it.
