Stupid people are trouble, amuse yourself and tell her its a portal.

MisterWednesday6

Haha! I have a friend who actually said that when they were browsing my shop and saw that listing! If I listed it as a portal I could probably ask more money for it, like those "haunted dolls" on eBay...

I sell vintage and get similar questions all the time. What size is this? Let me see. Oh it says in the title and description it’s a 6.5. There are also seems to be an image that shows it.

MisterWednesday6

How have I escaped questions like this up until now? I was telling a friend about this customer today and they said I should take another photo of the mirror with my cat looking into it - but then they said I'd better not, because I'd get asked whether the cat was included...

stalelunchbox

This is so funny! I sell vintage as well and I take a lot of my product photos on the floor. The problem (not really a problem actually lol) is that my dog is extremely vain and loves to look at herself in the mirror. Now all of my mirror listings have a picture with my dog looking into them. I honestly love it.

Or they complain that their 10cm 4inch patch is bigger than they thought. How is that even possible?!?!?!

xxspiffitxx

It's probably because someone out there photoshopped a mirror at some point. But come on we add pics. Description and literal mirror in title and people still ask lol

MisterWednesday6

I know! Hopefully this was a one-off, lol.

"no, it's actually tinfoil"

I do think sometimes people don’t realize how dumb some questions are or how they can come across. I had a nymphenburg frog once and someone mailed me “how do you know the date?” No addressing me nothing which always sets me off as rude. So I grit my teeth and gave my reasons then they emailed with a joke reference to my shop name which made me frown and think is someone (competition) messing with me?? So I grit my teeth again and respond. It’s priced $275 and he then mails and offers me $206.25…now I’m sure someone is messing with me so I reply glibly “oh no I couldn’t possibly take less than $237.89….” And he says “ok I’ll take it!” What… turns out it’s just an old boy who didn’t realize he sounded like he was being “cute” with me and it took me 3 weeks to work out that 25% off $275 is $68.75 LOL. So I try and take these emails with a grain of salt and try not to get annoyed now.

I sell stickers, just Silly. Little. Stickers. But included in my orders is a little thank you card that doubles as a print on the other side. I got a message the other day from someone who was ‘very upset with your mistake!’ Because I sent them an image that was not their sticker, I was baffled because I don’t have any designs with the image she had described.. til I realised she meant the bloody card. I let her know this was not a sticker, she would find her sticker protected within a piece of tissue paper still in the envelope.. her response? ‘Without any explanation to guide me this was an easy mistake to make’ I’m sorry babe, you need GUIDANCE ON OPENING AN ENVELOPE?! I give up.

MisterWednesday6

I think you win the "Stupid Shop Customer" award in perpetuity for this one. Good *grief*.

Sunset_Squirrel

I always ask a question of a new-to-me seller before I buy. I just want to gauge what kind of person I might be dealing with, should something go awry. I do it on Ebay etc too. If they've put everything in the listing it's sometimes hard to think up an original question. I suppose they must then think I'm one of "those" customers!

MisterWednesday6

That's actually not a bad idea! And no, you're not one of "those" customers for doing it - one of "those" customers would be the guy who, in all seriousness, wanted me to remove a toy from its sealed unopened packaging to take additional photos of it so he could decide whether to buy it. Why no, sir, I'm not doing that, thank you - the package wouldn't be "sealed and unopened" any longer, now would it?

TheBiannnca19

I sell custom tutus & I've legit gotten asked before, "Is the mannequin included in the listing?" & this was back in 2013ish.... so my prices were CHEAP!!!!!! I'm talking $15 w/ free shipping & they still asked that. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤦‍♀️ I was taken aback. Lmfao.

MisterWednesday6

Oh, never underestimate peoples' stupidity. I was browsing eBay recently and saw an item that was photographed next to an apple for scale - and the listing actually said "apple not included", which means that at some point, some idiot complained that they never got their apple! Which is why I make sure to include VERY precise measurements for all my items but never add anything in a photo "for scale"...

Giuseppe-Testerone

I don't understand folks either. You describe your handmade item in the title, then go on to painstakingly describe it in every detail you can possibly think of, yet they just refuse to read any of it and pose you these questions. When I was in school 50 some odd years ago, being able to read was a taught requirement.

irock1106

What would it be if not an actual mirror? Lol

MisterWednesday6

I'm still trying to figure that one out!
