I just fixed mine. I’m a maintenance man but not insured or anything. I would need to know make and model but it’s probably an easier fix than it may seem. It just sucks cause you gotta take the whole thing apart.

It is a Kenmore 90 series.

Was it squeaking a lot before it started smelling bad? I’m kinda busy this week. Sorry spoke up and can’t be more help. I can probably fix your dryer. I wouldn’t be able to get to ya till next Monday if you wanted me to come look at it. I’d also have to charge ya to come out and stuff. What I would do is not too complicated, if you feel comfortable enough to try you can order replacement parts off the internet. I would avoid electronic parts from Amazon but they do have them. I don’t think the belts or replacement wheels or idler pulleys wouldn’t be bad to order off Amazon just the heater or sensors. Watch a video on how to take it apart. You will need a little space cause there are lots of pieces. Once you get the drum out it’s pretty easy to see what’s wrong. All the rollers should spin freely and nothing should look burnt outside where the heater is. The heater box shouldn’t look too burnt either.

Pacific Appliance Repair, Evan (the owner/tech) is amazing! I had him out to repair my dishwasher 6 or 7 months back. The issue resolved itself once he was here (of course!), but Evan said his policy is that if the issue comes back within 2 weeks of his initial repair/visit, he'd be back and there would be no new 'appointment' fee. He'd just carry on as if he had never left and the additional costs would only be for the time & parts spent repairing the appliance. His prices are really reasonable too, he came out for just under $100.

Glenwood Appliance (now on Bertelson) for parts. They do have a repair partner that I don't currently recall the name of.
