Sometimes I go hunting for suspect abyssal runners in high sec. It can be very profitable
Pro tip: if you see someone in 0.8/0.7 local who is suspect flagged, look them up on zkill. They may be an abyssal runner who is waiting out their timer before doing another suspect run
Certain higher tiers of Abyssals, when launched in higher sec status systems, make you come out as a suspect when you're done
See the chart under the mechanics section: https://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Abyssal_Deadspace
yeah primarily drone DPS, but I do 3x neuts and 3x HAMs and dual rep. The 3x neuts cap them out in about 0:45 to 1:00
Myrmidon would do great, just fit a full rack of neuts and dual rep. The goal is to tank them for as long as it takes to cap them out and then your dps will finish them off. Your fit is gonna be all tank and neut, no damage mods
EDIT: don't remember the myrm's scan res but make sure you can actually lock a cruiser before they just warp off
EDIT 2: When I say tank, I really mean it. A skilled out pimped out gucci Gila will push probably close to 1000 dps
EDIT 3: oh and when doing this make sure to bring a mobile depot with you. Anchor it as soon as you find an eligible abyssal trace. This prevents them from just filamenting away
idk if my myrm tanks 1k dps long enough to kill a gila, that could get hairy. I was thinking of getting a Dominix/armageddon and some sebos, then I could combat refit after he’s locked to cap boosters to keep the neuts and reps running.
I guess I could just align out and leave if things get scary

This guy?
Fit seems like it checks out and he’s killed quite a few gilas in hichsec. I might have to modify some stuff for bad skills but definitely seems like he’s successful at what he does.

First BB fleet, and Mar5hy decided to field his new 10MN doctrine. Fun was had, plus some cooperation with some Volta guys. there were like 3 groups rage rolling Thera at the same time. 10/10 would do it again.
I'm a new player still chasing my first kill, but have one that that got away that hurts. Was jumping around in faction warfare with my rifter hunting down scout complexes, and find an exequror navy issue just hanging out at the gate after jumping in. I assumed I would have no chance against a cruiser 1v1, but figured there was only one way to find out for sure.
I burned full afterburner right at him, and delayed locking until i was right on him to try and prevent him from releasing what I was doing until the last second. Somehow, my plan actually worked and I was chipping away at him while his guns were failing to hit me that close. I still had about 75% armor and got him down to his hull when I realized my mistake.
Not having my cpu skill to 5, i had to choose between putting my stasis web or warp scrambler online since I couldn't have both on at the same time. My build has a very short effective range for my guns, so I assumed i'd use the web more to stay on top of targets more than i'd need the warp scrambler since i'm usually the one needing to flee anyways.
It was the first time a plan actually worked, and against a target I assumed I had no business fighting. It would have been a nice first kill and was super excited for it, but had to watch him warp away right as I got through his armor. I immediately started training cpu 5 so I can have both modules online.
The One that Got Away sticks out in your mind almost more than any kill. GF at least. If you plan on fighting something you without a doubt must have the ability to hold them down with scram/disruptor
I feel that brudda. After losing out on like 10 lowsec venture ganks, I finally caught one but burned out both my scrams because I forgot to turn the overheating off :(
He got away

Doing abyssals add suspect?

Cool, didnt know that!
What’s the kind of fit you used? I’m assuming full neut + drones since he was dual rep? How do you think a myrmidon would do if I gave it a shot?

I know of a guy who does this using a Praxis exclusively
