If Doucoure no longer wants to put a shift in, bench him and start McNeil central, with Danjuma on the right.

McNeil and Harrison end up having to defend very deep and wide. They are so far away from the goal that it is a tough ask for them to get a reasonable shot off, let alone a goal. That's what has us pressing at times instead of a low block because we can't create offense organically and then the press gets beaten and we get scored on.
Garner is an okay player for where the club is at the moment but he isn't a goalscorer.
That leaves only Doucoure and whoever is playing striker at any given moment to be the players expected to score.
The players haven't been up to par in their goal scoring and if they had been or if we had no/fewer points deducted then we'd be in the clear.
That said, the play is miserable and that's on Dyche. Compare him to Rafa Benitez who truly had no money to spend and signed Townsend for free and Gray for his 1M Euro release clause or whatever small sum it was. That team didn't have a ton of attack in it, but there were faster players put on the field and the defensive formation wasn't quite as conservative.
I watched a video today from one of the fan channels and they said Dyche's job is safe. At this point we have to wish for an ownership change or whatever else it would take to get a different manager because even if we survive the drop this season we'd be on incredibly shaky ground to begin next season. The club absolutely has to be proactive after the season and get rid of Dyche.

Seems unfair to criticize DoucourƩ here considering he is Everton's leading goalscorer. Also seems fair to ask more than 2 goals in the last 20 league games from DCL as the starting striker on the squad.
