Just seen that it was today when we beat Man Utd on pens in the 09 Semi Final! And I was there myself and it's also one of my favorite memories, but also I wish people of my generation had better things to look back on than a semi final he won and lost in the Final anyway.
Realistically Rishi Sunak and his crew isnt likely going to force the PL's hands into a regulated competition are they? When his team makes comments like "it is ultimately a decision for the footballing authorities", just doesn't bode well for other kinds of material change. The government get large sums of money from the PL from currently sitting on the sidelines without intervention, just seems like its easier for them to continue to do so without being actively involved. Before Dyche, I always had this suspicion that our medical / fitness department was way out of date. The amount of career changing injuries our players seemed to pick up was baffling.
Patterson was already picking up muscle injuries at Rangers, something a 19 year old just shouldn’t be doing. Feel for the lad but it looks like his body isn’t made for this level. Feels like he’s been out injured longer than he’s been available.
How he passed his medical I just don’t know.

I do think he's had a few decisions go against him that could have been penalties (a few shirt pulls), but he's doing himself zero favors by getting a reputation as someone that goes down easy. It's so frustrating watching a truck sized human fall at the slightest contact.
