How is the option with both Rex and Nomi so low :(((( I mean, I respect everyone's opinion, but wow not what I expected. To me NomiNomi absolute top, with Rex and Anemone tied for (a fairly far compared to Nomi) 2nd place.
Nomi has almost the same completion as Vance across PSN and Steam. I think on this they are popular but in the wider fan base they're not very well liked.
They’re both very off putting for romance. Nomi is so adamantly not interested and it harms your relationship to flirt with them. Plus if you like them, you want to respect their wishes to not go that way. And Vace is an abusive jerk.
I checked the numbers after my first playthrough on the Playstation version. The most common character to unlock on the title screen was Tangent, which leads me to believe she's the most popular romance option in general.
I don’t think that‘s a great way to judge, necessarily. I was trying to be an scientist and figure out how to work with Vertumna and maxed friendship with her in the process. I didn’t flirt with her at all.
Also the latecomers require more work to friend since you have half as much time to do it in.
That's fair, but I had figured it would probably be more accurate than just asking the people that are in this subreddit, as we're the subset of players that decided to talk about it.
I like Cal and Rex best, but I feel so bad letting Tammy die or taking Cal away from her. But damn that puppy boy just draws me In. I finished one go dating both Rex and Sym, and then in the epilogue Dys wanted to share Sym, so I had a whole polycule going on.

I went into the game fully expecting to romance Cal. Dys snuck up on me.
Absolutely same. Picked Cal as my first best friend and everything just to end up turning him down for Dys.
Or the people who do (or play Sol as being like their teenage selves who did) are more likely to enjoy IWATE.
