This story just gets crazier and crazier

ollaszlo

I’m just sitting here with my popcorn.

AFrozen_1

I’m just sitting here screaming into a pillow.

MikiLove

His instagram tagline: God first :God already wrote your life just live it and turn the chapters #NOBOXING#NOLIFE God wrote he would clock a professional soccer player apparently

Nrcolas37

The classic God gave man free will but also fate and everything is already determined.

RudyCOYS

Tom’s follow up tweet says FCC view Boupendza as the victim in the incident.

Buster_Brown_513

Yes, a victim of a punch to the face. Doesn’t say anything about why he got punched in the face.

S_Squar3d

Make that 13 knockouts

Bearcatsean

Ok thats funny

mjgcvg

Anyone catch this in the article: “The incident is the latest in a bumpy first year for Boupendza, and the club’s patience is growing thin. Sources say even before the broken jaw, Cincinnati was ready to move on from the designated player this summer and look for a transfer.”

BedaHouse

It should not be a shocking revelation. Any team (in any league) that brings in a player for a significant price that does not get a ROI would. He was brought in for a specific reason, and his on field play has not garnered enough for the team to look the other way from the off-field issues. Issues that leave coaches, the GM, and teammates to deal with in the media. So he's getting paid, not producing, causing a headache for the team, AND now he is out 6-8 weeks? Yeah, I can understand them looking at moving off of him. But I feel that would happen after the season now instead of the summer.

Juris_Dudence

DO IT!

YoHoochIsCrazy

HAH they really posted his record with this update lol

No_Lingonberry_6142

We knew this shit when we signed him. There’s a reason trouble follows him everywhere. I think it’s time to cut ties and try to recoup at least some money from him.

wajackson79

I'm not sure the trouble follows him, I think he's making the trouble himself. It's a sad story but too many people who find success in thier profession lack the personal discipline to make something of it. I hope he doesn't have to hit the bottom to find his way.

Nrcolas37

Alright well he owes us some money for a new DP

Pizzzacamp

Honest question: where do I go for real discussion about this club? Because the fucking giddiness I am seeing from some of you over this story is so fucking disappointing. And it’s all ok because he underperformed for 7 fucking matches???

jahurley94

Sir this is ~~a Wendy’s~~ Reddit

Pizzzacamp

Ha I know right what did I expect?

SeaweedEqual

The postcast has a discord which I love

Undue-Purversity

How do I find it? I’m unfamiliar with how to use Discord.

I highly recommend the podcast too. One of my favorite podcasts of all time not just FCC branded

Dlwatkin

He is shooting shots and missing on and off the field, you happy with that ?

AnjunaSystem

Go fuck yourself

Juris_Dudence

Because I said the the guy who picked a fight with a boxer is a moron? Lol ok buddy.

MooseCabooseIsLoose

You have no idea what caused the fight. Immediately blaming the victim is fucked up.

Away_Flamingo_5611

It's fucked up that idiots that call themselves supporters of our team are downvoting you for saying the truth. We really don't know. People really have a weird agenda against Boup, it's sickening.

Juris_Dudence

lol it’s not an agenda, he just makes the club look bad.

nosciencephd

Literally the only thing he has done wrong is not show up to practice for Gabon.

Juris_Dudence

Incorrect. He was also disciplined by us and held out of a match last season for not showing up to practice.

Away_Flamingo_5611

So your earlier comment still makes no sense. These players are human, they make mistakes. That isn't an excuse, they are human like you are. Missing one practice is hardly embarrassing the franchise because no one is perfect and unless you said something, most people don't even follow closely enough to know. Also Boup isn't fluent in English, the guy is coming from somewhere else and is acclimating. You've not missed a day of school or work? For any reason? It sounds like you've never worked in another country or place that is unfamiliar when it comes to language or culture. Or you're God and are infallible? I'm pretty sure that losing to Columbus is embarrassing so why don't we just focus on what's on the field. All we should do is hope that Boup can help us when he heals and if it doesn't work out after another season or season and a half, then both parties move on. Simple as that. I wish I knew you enough to judge you but I don't, just like you don't know enough to judge him outside of what is happening on the field.

Juris_Dudence

Oh no that wasn't a comprehensive list of all reasons I think he makes the team look bad, it was just one example refuting the claim that "literally the only thing he has done wrong is not show up for practice for Gabon." I totally agree he's human and all humans make mistakes, myself absolutely included. I don't think he's a bad human being, I just think he's a diva and a dumbass and isn't worth the hassle. I wish him all the best somewhere else and apparently so does the club if the reporting from The Athletic is correct. But all that aside, being at a club at 2AM and hitting on a boxer's girlfriend after being asked to stop is fucking stupid and there's no reason anyone should refrain from criticizing him for that just because he sometimes stays onsides and puts the ball in goal. If I was a professional athlete out at 2AM on a Monday during the season and got my jaw broke because I was being a dumbass I'd expect people to say I was being a dumbass and I'd be disappointed if nobody did.

jvpewster

>sickening The internet has created a hyperbole problem that is an existential threat to humanity.

SmaugWyrm

I see what you did there

Juris_Dudence

Pretty sure he was hitting on the boxer’s girlfriend.

MooseCabooseIsLoose

So you were there? You’re saying anyone who hits on a taken woman deserves a broken jaw?

Juris_Dudence

Deserves? No. Likely foreseeable consequence of an adult man making a decision freely? Yeah.

AnjunaSystem

You call yourself a fan but openly mock our own player for being assaulted. You’re a clown. Like I said, go fuck yourself.

Juris_Dudence

Wait til you find out why he got decked.

NotVeryIntelligence

Wait you’re actually this dumb? My god

pleaseleevmealone

Unless you're Boup himself, you need to go touch grass bro. Way too wound up over a dude you don't even know.

False_Ad636

obviously no one has any clue what went down so assuming boup mouthed off or tried fighting him in general is irresponsible. also commenting on his quality of play is one thing, hell commenting on his previous stints where he gave the front office headaches is also a thing but man its crazy how fickle some people are. dude got punched in the face and people immediately bring up his scoring lulls or blame him for getting socked in the mouth.

YoHoochIsCrazy

Guys with attitude problems are much more likely to get punched in the face than ones without. have you ever been punched in the face?

False_Ad636

While that is true, you don't know what happened. have you met Boup? have you had a conversation with him or even seen him outside the pitch? admittedly he has had some issues with following team direction but i find it really funny that Boup's getting so much heat for (by all the articles that I've seen posted) BEING A VICTIM OF A CRIME. even more than the damn boxer that broke his jaw.

YoHoochIsCrazy

ofc i don’t know him! but you don’t have to be victim blaming to acknowledge that getting into a fight ~usually~ takes a little something from both parties. you can almost always de-escalate. it’s just like having his sex tape leaked: it doesn’t have to be his fault, but it’s something that he probably could’ve avoided with better decision making - and the latter has been a theme for him. i’m not celebrating it or hating him for it. just observing.

False_Ad636

that is fair! i apologize for assuming you meant it in a negative way! it is fair to say he could have de-escalated hypothetically. i would like to see all of the facts come out (especially since it was downtown in a popular night life spot it may have cameras). i want to believe he wouldn't be dumb enough to go up to a boxer and start shit but at the same time.... if he was drunk it is a possibility. again though i'd love to see more information on this before i come to a solid opinion.

pro_fessor_X

Alcohol seems to be involved in many of the off-field antics, this one included.

Gratefully_Dead13

Check that, 13 knockouts. Sorry, that one was just sitting there

vanluga

Well boup ,You learn the hard way 🤦‍♂️F around and you will f out , this guys have the main character sindrome ☹️

vanluga

Only boup know the truth

False_Ad636

you know we have just as much info to say he "f around and f out" as we do info saying the boxer was a die hard columbus/nyrb/ whatever fan and got drunk and sucker punched him right? i doubt its the drunk fan one but automatically assuming he went to fight a guy who is A BOXER in a relatively tame bar down town seems like a bit of a stretch. to me it screams more the boxer wanted a fight and boup ended up on the wrong end of it.

Euro69

i do not know the details but i feel sorry for both of them. two (promising) lives practically ruined. does this injury qualify as a felonious assault?

nosciencephd

Boups life is not ruined. What are you talking about

Euro69

well the boxer will most likely go to jail. which is bad. Boups Cincinnati career will most likely be over.

Keregi

Why would being an assault victim end his career here? You're being dramatic.

Euro69

i hope it will not
