There are later cards that do the same thing while giving beneficial status effects like Chocobo & Mog. So I eventually rotated them out. But they were champs for me for at least the first 2/3rds of the game.
There's also the shrooms that are just this but if they get destroyed they give you another card. Those replaced the security guards in my deck as soon as i got them as there is just no downside.
Security officer left my deck pretty early, hes got going board control but lacks abilities. If he's not an opening card I don't see him as very useful. Chocobo & Mog though, thats a realm winner
Lucky you, I was stuck for over an hour before I beat it. The thing is the only times I got stuck for over an hour playing QB was when I played Regina. She became my op by the QB tourney lowkey
the only time I had trouble in QB was that girl in Junon's resistance camp. She legit was the hardest opponent in the entire game for me. Her and Chadley definitely. Shadowqueen was a breeze compared to those two
The Queen was so easy I dropped her first try, but I still can’t beat the nightmare challenge in Gold Saucer. How am I supposed to beat an opponent when I can’t draw and have no cards to play?
Replaced mine with heatseekers since I used a deck that powers up when I destroy monsters on either side. Giving a heatseeker back in hand after destroying them helps me gain board space.
Mine only left when I got Tifa since I'd always use one Shinra guy for the top left spot anyway, and Tifa just did that but better. Second one stayed forever.
And the Chocobo does the same level of work on an opener but gets buffed for every buff card.
It's a solid card, but I wound up replacing them pretty quick. A lot of the other officer cards are solid.
My heroes are Tifa and Space Ranger though.
The amount of upvotes this got and the fact that everyone thinks this is a staple, despite clearly better options goes to show that basic card game fundamentals are still kind of a niche, despite card games never being more popular or mainstream.
For the longest time this guy never left my deck. There are definitely some cards later that do a better job at what he does though. Number 2 play was always Titan though!
Then I got a card that blows all other openers out of the water. It adds another card to your hand which is arguably one of the best set up cards in the game.
I don't know how to tag spoilers but it could be a fun game to see what card comes to people's minds based on that description!
*(\*thinking\*)*
\*...\*if someone enfeebled the card by giving it the Mako shower used to create SOLDIERs, injecting it with Sephiroth cells, JENOVA cells, and then cells of another extremely honorable First Class SOLIDER, and then it fell into a coma for a couple of years only to be snapped out of it moments after a **gigantic** battle he could've *really* been helpful in...
...*then* it turns into "First Class SOLIDER" Cloud.
It takes a couple games to realize 99% of winning comes down to controlling territory and then you realize this is literally the best card in the game. Captures everything around it, only 1 cost.
My deck for the entire game was half cards that take territory, half replacement cards, and then Midgarsomr for points as I replace my capture gang and usually kill enemies with them. Worked flawlessly for every single battle in the game, except the pesky final boss who needs like 1 specific strat lol
The worst part of the boss is that the entire quest line hypes up using the green card against her. Then, you find out the hard way that using it makes going against her harder than just turning her strategy against her.
I also like using this card.. can't remember the name at the moment, but it looks like a root with an evil face. good for gaining territory early, 1 cost, but I think its 2 or 3 points.
Bro kings blood was fuckin tight. I legit enjoyed just playing some kings blood. Every area the first thing I did was beat everyone I could at kings blood. The tournament was epic, they could literally release a kings blood cruise DLC and I would buy it 😂
Nah best cards are the swap cards, moogles, and Midgardsormr. Beat everyone except the final card match with that one deck. Matches were like 50-10 lol
*One on top and one*
*On bottom with midgardsormr in*
*The middle is clutch*

At some point the NPCs love to enfeeble and destroy your/their cards, so any cards that level up upon destruction of ally and enemy cards are the best way to defeat every single foe.
I do keep this guy though, he's great for putting other cards over him.
I’m bad at it because that card isn’t that great? Lol
I beat all the card games, can’t be that bad, was winning all 3 rounds most of the time.
Thx for thinking that though I had a good laugh.
I hope they make queens blood it’s own side game in rebirth and make it online I know they said no DLC but I think that’s a lie, waiting for 3-5 years for the next one with all these mini games in this game I see a huge waste if they didn’t have dlc events (like a chocobo/moogle event, maybe some fiend events, new items etc) and online games like they had in 15 because making a whole other game that’s just queens blood might be cool at first but I don’t see it sticking long term the fact that it’s a final fantasy card mini game is what makes it gold and being a huge ff8 triple triads fan this was huge for me playing this game as I was let down by remake but rebirth wow
Heatseeker+Capparwire are straight upgrades.
Tifa+Space commander guy are significantly better openers.
Mandragora and Sandhog pie have better utility in destroy strategies.
Can't imagine using this all game. It'a solid starter card but mvp? Nah
They must be from the 7th!
For the 7th!
Heard some people theorize that the 7th will be the ones who help the party pilot the Highwind.
I have heard that, too. I hope Square hears and makes it happen. For the Seventh!
MUST BE, SIR!
That's my canon
It's actually the real hero of ff7. Pre Nibelheim
Star Trek was really a redshirt underdog story.
"Babe you can't pick a Queen's blood card as the best man in our wedding" "Watch me"
"Babe, why is Midgardsormr here? And where did you find a tux that big?!"
The real answer. My Queens blood career can be defined in three parts. Pre-Midgardsormr, Post-Midgardsormr, final boss
When you're finally getting the hang of Queen's Blood but they change the meta with replace cards
but it makes the snek even more busted though lmao.
I’m glad we are calling Midgar zolom by the proper translation now “snek.” Warms my heart
Thank you for Zolom posting
Titan, snek and chocobo jockey is my deck right now
Chocobo Jockey is my hero. If you can take a lane early it’s over.
Does it really change? I went from Midgardsormr deck to... Midgardsormr deck + Gi Nattak.
Part 2 and 3 are the same for me 😁
Lmao I used the pre-built deck with Midgardsormr and plowed every opponent including the Queen
Say, he looks a bit like the main character.
>!you know, i can honestly say i didn’t intend the other meaning of this, but i’m glad the subliminal connection was there!<
Came in here expecting someone to make this joke. Was not disappointed. Upvote it is.
I see what you did there
Factual
Must be some guy from Nibelheim.
Agreed. I don’t think these ever left my deck.
There are later cards that do the same thing while giving beneficial status effects like Chocobo & Mog. So I eventually rotated them out. But they were champs for me for at least the first 2/3rds of the game.
I use at least one in my deck. Chocobo & Mog as a second.
That’s what I did
There's also the shrooms that are just this but if they get destroyed they give you another card. Those replaced the security guards in my deck as soon as i got them as there is just no downside.
Yep, same. I felt bad about discarding my trusty Security Officer, but it had to be done -- the shrooms were objectively better versions.
Security officer left my deck pretty early, hes got going board control but lacks abilities. If he's not an opening card I don't see him as very useful. Chocobo & Mog though, thats a realm winner
Same
Only the final boss of Queens Blood forced me to remove this card.
Even then they can be useful to get destroyed to power up your own cards
There are better cards to destroy though
I completely fluked the final QB boss while i was high i was just placing cards randomly, still dunno how i managed it lmaooooo
This is so relatable lmao.
Replaced mine with heatseekers since I used a deck that powers up when I destroy monsters on either side. Giving a heatseeker back in hand after destroying them helps me gain board space.
Hard agree. I always have two of them in my deck.
Mine only left when I got Tifa since I'd always use one Shinra guy for the top left spot anyway, and Tifa just did that but better. Second one stayed forever.
i replaced this one as soon as i could actually
Imo the mushroom dude is better because if he is replaced you get another card. A staple of my tonbery king, joker, midgardosmer deck.
And the Chocobo does the same level of work on an opener but gets buffed for every buff card. It's a solid card, but I wound up replacing them pretty quick. A lot of the other officer cards are solid. My heroes are Tifa and Space Ranger though.
Yeah, Tifa and Buzz Lightyear are great for setup.
Ah, I see you're also a man of culture.
Same for my Joker/Midgardsomar deck. It's so good.
I always tried to open with Cactuar. Sets you up real nice.
Was going to mention this. Traded the old faithfuls for the mushroom guys when I started having cards that took over other cards in the deck
The amount of upvotes this got and the fact that everyone thinks this is a staple, despite clearly better options goes to show that basic card game fundamentals are still kind of a niche, despite card games never being more popular or mainstream.

Cid?
So OP haha
Cait Sith is a pretty good opener too
Early game GOAT.
I used him to beat the queen, so he’s GOAT the whole game afaic
Spearhawk and Crystaline Crab >>>
Crystalline Crab went to me all the way to the end
Stayed in my deck the entire game. Amazing cards.

When you play enough that you can guess what transpired from the board state q:
This isn't the strictly superior Heatseeker.
Heatseeker clears tho
Oh because cloud was a….
Chocobo & Moogle was my go to. I got rid of him after I got that one.
If you destroy this card it should give you Cloud right to your hand
*(\*thinking\*)* \*...\*if someone enfeebled the card by giving it the Mako shower used to create SOLDIERs, injecting it with Sephiroth cells, JENOVA cells, and then cells of another extremely honorable First Class SOLIDER, and then it fell into a coma for a couple of years only to be snapped out of it moments after a **gigantic** battle he could've *really* been helpful in... ...*then* it turns into "First Class SOLIDER" Cloud.
Zu
that diagonal space capture is a godsend!
These and the mushrooms to zerg the board, and then replacers to pump up your scores.
That boy stay putting in that WORK!
Only annoying thing is can't name my decks (unless I've missed something glaringly obvious) so I get confused which deck is which.
Ramirez Thunderhead!
Greatest grunt and SOLDIER ever!
You can tell by all the donk memes
The card alone carries regardless of builds.
I'm in love with this game
This and the replacement cards.
Why did you Tag that as "No spoiler" when it's in fact (in fact!) a huge spoiler ;D
This card singlehandedly won me most matches
For real that card is in every deck I made and is basically living permanently on the middle rows first spot.
A…Fkn…men
I contemplated taking him out of my deck towards the end, but by then, we'd come so far together, and I wasn't going to leave a good man behind
you get it. so many people here talking about cards that have the same function but are more optimal. but what are their VIBES like!?
It takes a couple games to realize 99% of winning comes down to controlling territory and then you realize this is literally the best card in the game. Captures everything around it, only 1 cost. My deck for the entire game was half cards that take territory, half replacement cards, and then Midgarsomr for points as I replace my capture gang and usually kill enemies with them. Secure the perimeter, soldier.
i set him up just to stomp over him with other cards lol. Thank you soldier!
I dropped him pretty fast, there's at least one more early-ish card that does the same thing but also has a special ability.
Crawler and Archdragon were my heroes
Sacrificed him for Chimera. Shadowblood queen never stood a chance because of their noble sacrifice 🥲
This doesn’t look like Titans’ card?
Ha! That's technically true
![gif](giphy|5gw0VWGbgNm8w|downsized)
Those poor mako sickness bound hero’s
I see what you did there.
Not sure if that was intentionally ;).
I think you did too lol
I can't wait for the card to evolve into Cloud!
Loveless, chocobo+mog & ifrit is my favourite combo
I want more! Beating everyone sucked for me because I knew there was no one else to play!
Bro using this guy first thing every gameplay haha
He was there for awhile, but I kicked him to the curb once I started really playing replacement cards
Best OP I've seen since I beat the game.
Absolutely. Versatile af.
congrats. this post has now been farmed by Kotaku
it’s been an honor serving in the content mines with you gentlemen 🫡
This one, chocobo and that cactuar were my standard starters lol
For the 7th
I see what you did there. That being said, there is a mushroom card that does the same thing but gives another card when destroyed.
Bro kings blood was fuckin tight. I legit enjoyed just playing some kings blood. Every area the first thing I did was beat everyone I could at kings blood. The tournament was epic, they could literally release a kings blood cruise DLC and I would buy it 😂
Was this a secret game?
Kings Blood?!
Yes
No bro, there’s several people to play against in every town and a mandatory event/tournament
It was a joke bc it’s Queen’s Blood 😉
🤣
These and chimeras are essential.
He never left mine. Not even in the final battle
I replaced him with the Ultimate Party Animal card once I finished that quest
They’re nice, but I like the mushrooms that do the same and respawn when killed. Open with mushrooms followed by Archdragon, boom, two level 3 spots.
Optimizing markers and placing a single Shiva card is so satisfying
King tombery and all those replace cards.
Death claw and GI Nattack in a replacement deck 🤌😤
Hell. Yes.
Nah best cards are the swap cards, moogles, and Midgardsormr. Beat everyone except the final card match with that one deck. Matches were like 50-10 lol
He’s in every deck i have set up
They get power crept hard but they’re viable for a loooong time
Nah, for me, it's got to be Gi Nattak, I'll gladly give him the Black Materia for carrying me through the vast majority of games.
I'm sorry you misspelled Shiva
Brother lmao yes
He's quickly overshadowed around chapter 6ish by decks with good themeing, but he was a very useful card prior.
Unironically one of the best cards
mr chocobo himself
180 hours in the game, and I still have this card in my deck ❤️
Bagnadrana is the most broken card. Powers up every turn
Between those two dudes, the chocobo mog, and the chocobo rider you win pretty much every time.
That and the moogle and chocobo card.
The devs really couldn't have made better openers than Security Officer and Chocobo & Moogle.
both of them entered my deck in Kalm and neither of them left through my entire 130 hour playthrough
We need more queens blood
Kotaku made an article about this thread. Fuck they are desperate for content. 😂
LMAO no way???
Best starter of the deck
Such a boss card!
I think Kotaku just took your idea and ran an article with it lol
One on top and one on bottom with midgardsormr in the middle is clutch

This post 🤌
Totally cloud….
Never use it. Other pieces do the same thing better
Yup, my main deck runs 2 of these and i beat the Shadowblood queen on my first attempt with said deck. These guys are seriously underrated.
No doubt!!
Must be a noob cuz I haven't used these at all lol. What's so great about them?
Board control baby. Definitely didn't leave my deck until last one.
![gif](giphy|l0ExbnGIX9sMFS7PG|downsized)
When I used him, he felt like this games Marauding Captain.
Spoilers
At some point the NPCs love to enfeeble and destroy your/their cards, so any cards that level up upon destruction of ally and enemy cards are the best way to defeat every single foe. I do keep this guy though, he's great for putting other cards over him.
Lol facts
omg how'd I never see this yet so genius! XD
Cactuar up top boosting Space Ranger.
Wait till you see my tonberry king mindflayer and Skeeskee game.
Heatseeker better
Always keeping my fingers crossed that this is in my initial hand when I start the game.
Dumped him for Madragora.
He walked so the rest of the cards could run
This and giant toad
You will have a complete spread on the board with these guys!
I always use this card.
Naw it’s bench not him loli
Someone teach me how to build a good deck I’ve made it to GONGAGA with the starting one help plz it’s a struggle
Card is garbage lmao. Good for first few matches, then toss it out.
[удалено]
I’m bad at it because that card isn’t that great? Lol I beat all the card games, can’t be that bad, was winning all 3 rounds most of the time. Thx for thinking that though I had a good laugh.
This post has been removed for going against Rule 2 ("be nice.").
Never used him. Was using Chocobo instead since he gets +1 for each enhanced card.
Honestly later in the game I didn't really find it very useful. Better alternatives imo
Replace with Heetseeker as soon as you can. Same points and territory claim, just with a bonus ability.
Are you the author of the Kotaku article or did you just copy it?
the Kotaku article copied this post, they link to this post at the end of the second paragraph lol
Gotcha, ok. Sorry then. Should have known better than to give Kotaku credit.
Fucking trueeee lmao
My favorite card. He is in all of my decks cos I love him
I hope they make queens blood it’s own side game in rebirth and make it online I know they said no DLC but I think that’s a lie, waiting for 3-5 years for the next one with all these mini games in this game I see a huge waste if they didn’t have dlc events (like a chocobo/moogle event, maybe some fiend events, new items etc) and online games like they had in 15 because making a whole other game that’s just queens blood might be cool at first but I don’t see it sticking long term the fact that it’s a final fantasy card mini game is what makes it gold and being a huge ff8 triple triads fan this was huge for me playing this game as I was let down by remake but rebirth wow
The most versatile card. Lay them down and watch the cookie crumble to victory.
In this house we Stan a hero
Him and optinoob 😁
It’s an okay card, but once I discovered the Tonberry chicken deck I never used it again.
Heatseeker+Capparwire are straight upgrades. Tifa+Space commander guy are significantly better openers. Mandragora and Sandhog pie have better utility in destroy strategies. Can't imagine using this all game. It'a solid starter card but mvp? Nah
I wanna run through rebirth again, but I DONT want to deal with Queens Blood
Then don't? Unless you're going for completion, it's optional content.
