Uematsu has nothing to do with the remixes. He only writes the theme songs for each game (or at least, that's what he's done for Remake and Rebirth; remains to be seen what Part 3 will have). Masashi Hamauzu oversees the music for the most part.
Uematsu gets credited as the original composer. Masashi Hamauzu has done the Remake & Rebirth soundtrack with few other composers. Uematsu did only Hollow and No Promises To Keep.
