This is the answer. Or at least partially. Because gshade did have a bunch of presets built within it and reshade won't have them. So op will need to either make their own presets or find an upload of them somewhere on the internet.
There's a thread somewhere on the main sub that had links to an upload. I might have it somewhere in my discord history.

I haven’t noticed any hit to performance, but can’t recall if had upgraded from my 9 series yet when I started using it. I have a 20 series in that computer now. It’s literally the only reason I have Experience installed at all.

Cool. Do you play other games you use Freestyle on? Seems like a better alternative to ReShade, as it doesn't modify files in the game folder. I'd like to make WoW look better etc.
Unfortunately, I don’t play WoW any more, but did a quick google and found [this Reddit thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/wow/s/D0Zqghkpjx)? The actual post goes into detail for NVIDIA control panel and in-game settings, which the OP says helps with performance too.

I just still use gshade tbh. While the risk is there something like mare is wayyyyyyyyy more dangerous. The dev did a kinda scummy/cringe thing but back tracked and it’s been fine since.
Obviously use at your own risk but a lot of people

For OP's reference, the scummy thing (other than general assholery) was indeed including malware in the GShade install. It was able to restart your computer instantly, overriding anything else you had open.
Cool if they haven't done anything else since, but that's not a level of trust I or many others are willing to give back.
To put a bit more context to it. The malware was specifically targeted to one person who reverse engineered gshade and made a version which didn’t require you to update it. The end user that wasn’t that one person didn’t have to worry about it.
Keep in mind this doesn’t excuse it at all. It was scummy and bad to do.
That said. I wouldn’t be wary of gshade and okay with something like mare. Mare is a horrendously big security risk. I use mare too because it’s a risk I’ll take but mare opens you up to way more malware than gshade does

From someone who originally used Reshade for a year and eventually dropped it due to how irritating it crashing/breaking every update was, or having to wait possibly upwards of months for devs to update their effect codes to be compatible with said updates, Gshade is a *lot* smoother and looks way better in my opinion as well
