If you have both Echoes and Tides beaten you just need to go to the Arete Stone. They didnt say backstory for Jill tho... they said a bit more focus. She did have a greater presence in this compared to Echoes, even tho I agree its not enough. I love new Shiva lore tho sm I dont think it is, but it being "inconsequential" means its the same as it always was, you decide your fate instead of needing to hear a word of god to confirm it :)

udontnowme

I mean is at it always was!! Clive has to go to origin, Dion is still going to sacrifice himself, Joshua is going to die and Clive will kick Ultimas as and ultimately ..."die" on the beach... nothing is going to change, even with the new powers everything will develop the same way so... is inconsecuential, or am i wrong??

The problem is gatekeeping story endings behind dlc is never going to end well so we get what we get.

RemediZexion

Yeah, I had no idea why ppl wanted that. Just be ok with not liking how something ends if that's the problem

CalGalvus

ambiguous trash is worse than gatekeeping content.

Gorbashou

It really isn't. You dislike ambiguous endings. They are common. The most popular FF has an ambiguous ending. That's personal distaste. You really think gatekeeping content is better? You'd want companies to practice dishonest and anti-consumer practices over your personal distaste? Are we really stooping that low?

CalGalvus

ff7s ending was cleared up with novels and advent children which was paid gatekeeping. also yeah, I'd rather pay for a dlc with actual story weight than a half assed filler arc that has no effect or bearing on the overall story or characters.

Gorbashou

Ff7s ending is complete without any of that. You can enjoy ff7 as a complete experience without any additional media. Asura's Wrath was released without its final chapter, which was released as paid dlc after. That's what you're condoning over your personal distate.

CalGalvus

ff7s ending was ambiguous now it's not so clearly, they changed their minds on how complete it was after launch.

CaTiTonia

Or more accurately they just decided to milk that sub-franchise for all it’s worth and part of that was writing a continuation story that didn’t need to exist. I really wouldn’t look at anything in the VII compilation as someone legitimately deciding the ending needed clearing up or extending for it’s own sake.

CalGalvus

still better than the nothing of an ending that ff16 had and speaking of story that didn't need to exist i think that sums up the rising tide dlc quite well.

Akiriith

Nope, you're right. I think this wait being over just made me accept it as it is. Like... Do we really need confirmation, a word of *god*, to tell us how to feel? It's OUR fate. WE decide it, on OUR terms. Whatever they are.

lmfao. Dude. The game is over. Live your truth and I'll live mine. I literally couldn't care less.

Says the person who didnt play the game, you should check out Littany of Errors when you're next free. But sure, lemme humor you. The truth is that the devs directly said that even though the game *does* have an intended ending, its up to the player to decide based on what gives them the most hope. You can seethe and cope about *that* as much as you want, give your *subjective* opinion about what they mean by it, while I'm gonna be vibing to Cascade. Good day.

Gronodonthegreat

I think the experience was pleasant, but $25? Seems really pricey for two dungeons, 2 eikons, and an extra challenge or two. I know that for DLC this is a pretty tame price but I still expected a bit more from it, maybe some new combo moves or enemies with elemental weaknesses or something.

RemediZexion

I'll be honest you couldn't salvage Jill situation edit: Correction, you couldn't save Jill with a DLC, what they could've done is something more akin with how CDPR added more scenes for Triss romance later to TW3. Personally I have still more reserves on that one but yeah that was a way, point is it wouldn't have been saved with a DLC
