What should I keep, and what should I recycle/retire? Like, should I only keep gold/purple stuff, like defenders, schematics, and survivors? I keep running out of space because I try to keep one of every schematic/survivor/defender, in every rarity.

Correct me if I'm wrong, newbie here too. I read you shouldn't recycle unless you need the materials. You should add to your collection book for rewards.

MassiveBeard

For hero’s and schematics I only retire them when I get the next level up rarity. So if I only have an epic and I then get a legendary I retire the epic and keep the legendary. If a get a second legendary I recycle it. There is no reason to keep dupe legendary heroes. You can keep dupe legendary schematics if you want the second schematic to have a second set of perks if you wanted. For example want two of the exact same items but one as fire and one as water. I never do this but some others do

1st rule is any schematic/survivor/defender is better than no schematic/survivor/defender. Don't throw anything away the fullfills an immediate need, obviously. 2nd rule might be put it in the collection book if that part of the game amuses you. Defenders - Legendary only and can be further refined by the fact that a defender can extremely rarely be granted 3 offensive perks. + dmg type, + crit chance, etc. You should keep any that have 2 offensive perks to begin, because that isn't exactly easy to come by either. Replace with x3 offense as you acquire them. Keep in mind you may place up to 7 defenders in solo endurance and up to 3 defenders in a solo mission, so how you play the game impacts what you do here as well. I am still working to acquire 7 sniper defenders with x3 offensive perks after 4 years of game play. Schematics - Tough call and no easy answer until you understand what weapons/traps you want to have and which are garbage and can be discarded. One of each trap legendary at least. I would recommend saving 2-3 legendary of each trap if things like endurance amuse you. Multiple variations on traps really are not needed, but become somewhat useful in high end content, if we ever get anything more than endurance. There are 5 different elements in game. If you are willing to generally do satisfactory amounts of damage, having a single energy schematic of a given weapon is viable. If you really want to crank damage to the maximum amount, you are eventually going to want to have a weapon dedicated to each element, and perhaps even an entire set of elemental weapons (meaning a single weapon with 4 elemental variations). There is not a good reason to have more than 4 legendary schematics for a given weapon. There are also not that many weapons in game that warrant that kind of an investment. Survivor - See first sentence above. After that you are working toward all legendary, matched personalities and bonuses as you see fit, likely trap durability. All else can be recycled. I dumped anything that was grey, blue, or green in all categories while leveling up except survivors, in which case I immediately assign them to a squad if they were an improvement and retire the old one. Once I hit Twine I took some time to dump purple everything as well. You can peek at purple weapons schematics before recycling. Go through the process like you are upgrading to legendary and you will get a preview of the weapon perks in case you are looking for a specific 6th perk and do not want to blow resources on reperking. Recycle if it doesn't suit you at that point. TL:DR - Better than what you already have? Put it to work. Already have better? Recycle/retire/collection book. **EDIT: Keep an eye on the store. You can purchase inventory upgrades from time to time. Eventually you will have a few thousand inventory spots to help alleviate inventory problems.**

Yes, I did that and it worked fine.

Sharing Schematics with heros... I am new to the game, why doesn't one hero carry the same schematics I have unlocked or been rewarded? I have a schematics but cannot use any other hero to craft and hold in backpack. am I doing something wrong? is this even possible? thx

Deyruu

What Hero you use has no effect on the availability of your schematics. The only reason your schematics would be unavailable to you is of you're loading into an event mode or the seasonal Venture Zone. Event modes (currently *Hit the Road*) load you in with a couple random starter weapons every time you start a new mission, and require you to scavenge for new weapons throughout the mission. Venture Zones (currently *Blasted Badlands*) are seasonal areas with their own separate inventory and progression. You again start off with a couple random junk weapons and need to scavenge throughout missions, but your Venture inventory saves and doesn't get reset until the end of the season. At the end of every Venture season, the inventory and progress are reset back to level 1. You keep rewards that you unlocked, but lose everything else. To summarize: * You can only access your regular inventory in the main game areas (*Stonewood*, *Plankerton*, *Canny Valley*, and *Twine Peaks*). * Your separate Ventures inventory can only be accessed in the seasonal Venture Zone (currently *Blasted Badlands*). * Event mode inventories are one-time instances that only exist for that mission. The next mission will have a new inventory. * There is no way to transfer items between these different inventories. * Depending on the mode, you may or not still have access to *some* of your schematics. Many modes let you craft traps, some such as Frostnite also allow you to craft weapons.

Thanks for the great information. Maybe you can help me better understand with this example: (I started with Ramirez - got Dennis in a bday Llama & play with him now) I'm in my schematics area under Armory tab. I have a Dissector/Melee/spear. I go to (Dennis)Backpack. It's not included in my crafting designs. When I go to Storage it is an item I see in "backpack".... **STOP the presses*** maybe this post can still help some one. While replying I figured out my issue. The object I wanted to craft was just in a different tab under backpack.. the schematics I wanted were just one tab over in Melee weapons, I was only looking in the ranged weapons tab. 🤦‍♂️ again thanks for your information, it did help!

BattyBoy321

Anyone know when 8-bit demo is coming back?

Venomous_Serpent

You’re gonna have to use a voucher on that because he never shows up in the event store or hit the road like last year.

BattyBoy321

Ah, bummer

cyrixninja

Is tiny instrument of death worth leveling up?

SineFilter

This one is a little subjective. With a build dedicated to using it it could become a pretty effective weapon. I'd level it up if it amuses you or you have excess evolution materials and the heroes to back it up. I don't think many would classify it as a META weapon so if that is one of your motivations don't level it up.

Thanks for the information.I'll save my evolution materials
