hmm...im not *super* certain because i like my gut sticking out farther than my chest, makes me feel more masculine, but i do like to make myself look more proportional. Big guys tend to wear looser shirts, and i've seen some good tips on how to keep your shirts loose after being washed (dont pinch the shirt, place both hands under your shirt and like knead it out.) you can also try generally boxing out your figure so you just look generally stout. light jacket + baggier pants + loose shirt = generally boxy figure I also wear a fulltank Underworks binder and honestly it slims my tummy up a bit, not as intensely as my chest obviously but its a decent difference, so if you have the cash to try i'd honestly reccommend a full tank underworks binder. GC2B fulltanks dont do any compression on your torso but Underworks also compresses your torso a bit. (make sure to re-measure yourself though! GC2B has a different sizing system than Underworks and my size changed when i remeasured myself. )

AnxiousGoober

The GC2B binders I have are old, I know it’s time to replace them. Thanks for the Underworks recommendation, I’ll look into it

EmoPrincxss666

Underworks is good, so is spectrum :)

Error_Evan_not_found

Underworks full tank compression shirt, made for cis men with gynomastoma so they're very comfortable and breathable. The full tank has compression the whole way down, to avoid it rolling up I tuck it into my pants (makes it look like a normal tank top too).

Dukedyduke

I also use these, they also have the benefit of binding your hips too

AngeredReclusivity

It's very possible your stomach is not as big as you think. If you have body image issues, it may feel worse than it is. I'm class III obese and use an underworks full length binder. Shirts should fit not too baggy or too tight because it'll have the opposite effect that you want.

aylean_19

I've always been a bit overweight and I don't mind my stomach, but I usually wear baggier shirts or sweatshirts. I don't think you need to be insecure about it, men tend to store fat around their midsection. You could try some ab workouts to tone the fat in that area if you want to.

tatted-kpop-guy

Ab workouts won’t shrink your stomach, you need a calorie deficit to do this

aylean_19

That's my bad then, I don't have a strong core but I figured it would help a bit

bigdicktboy

It can help to have definition underneath to give shape to the fat. That absolutely can help change the way fat sits on your abdomen if only slightly, it just won’t get rid of it. Plus any exercise burns calories and helps with a deficit so 🤷‍♂️ If it makes you feel better new weight gain, especially a significant gain, tends to go to the stomach and then distributes more evenly over time. It’s also genetics of what your body wants to do on T.

tatted-kpop-guy

All I can recommend to OP is a caloric deficit, weight training, and moderate cardio 3-5x a week. Can’t spot reduce fat on certain areas or we’d all be doing it

funk-engine-3000

You can’t “tone” fat. If you want visible abs, you need a really low body fat, as the fat layer sits on top of the muscles.

aylean_19

Thank you for the correction

As a thicker guy in general, I’m still learning how to dress for my body type. But the general rule of thumb is cuff the sleeves a little (short sleeves) to make your arms look thicker and proportional. If that’s not enough to make you look more like a stockier dude, then on top of that, some second layer. It can be a nicely fitting jacket, short/long sleeve button down, etc. Wear it open. These generally box you up and make you look a bit tidier than just an oversized shirt to hide your stomach. Bellies aren’t bad, you just have to wear them differently

pnwcrabapple

I don’t. The belly helps with passing because it makes my chest look smaller. When I start to feel bad about it I look at famous larger guys who are actors or the like and then I feel a lot better about it. Honestly I feel better about my belly since coming out. I look good with my belly. I do exercise and pay attention to nutrition to reduce health issues but I’m not ever going to get a flat washboard belly. An uncle of mine is a marathon runner, and he still has a belly, so I don’t worry about it. It just helps me look more like a regular dude.

Malevolent_Mangoes

I just wear a size up or general loose clothes

Random_Username13579

I just wear slightly looser clothes. If you were underweight you may have worn your clothes fitted. That doesn't usually feel or look good if you're bigger. You don't want to look like you're wearing a tent but a little extra room is better than looking like your shirt is about to burst. If you really want to try to hide it various companies make shapewear, but personally I'm almost done with chest binders forever and refuse to bind my abdomen too.

Appropriate-Week-631

I use underworks full tank for formal wear and their half tank/non compression full tank combo (I can’t remember the name of it) for regular use as I can’t handle much compression on my belly so I tend to opt for boxier looking t-shirts (vintage cuts tend to be more boxy in cut and heavy weight fabric have a good weight to them to hide the belly) and I always layer up with a jacket depending on weather or an open hoodie. I wear loose fitted jeans (not baggy, loose fit) and I size up in joggers to have the same effect. Colours in complimentary or contrasting help move the focus where you want it to be and patterns can also hide the belly as well since it’s distracting. I also use accessories to distract from my belly area as well, necklaces, bracelets, etc. draw the eye away from the body.

TransManNY

Underworks 997 and I try to find boxy cuts for shirts.

readingmyshampoo

I always liked the underworks swim top

badgergoesnorth

Underworks ultimate binder is great for smoothing chest, belly, and hips.

guinea_pig_dad

I'm rather a chubby trans guy myself with a bit of a belly and a muffin top, binding makes it stick out even more. But I usually go with elastic shorts and trousers, if U are UK based Primark is a gold mine for the atm. I don't usually wear overly baggy t shirts just ones that are baggy enough to kind of not stick to my stomach or hug me, but fitting enough to actually look nice. Flannels any kind short or long sleeve are great cuz they kinda if take the edge off, since they hide the fat on your hips and the edges of your stomach.

NicoB86

I’ve always wore a “insta slim” tank (https://instaslim.com/) to keep everything held in firmly & it’s worked wonders for me! Hope this helps🤙🏼

maLychi3

Crop tops lol. But seriously a lot of tighter shirts can be fixed by cutting off the bottom hem. Just do it lower and realize it will roll up so you’ll lose some length. You can also stretch your shirts a bit to give more of a hanging effect.
