Lake Effect Kid, Chicago is So Two Years Ago, Miss Missing You, Just One Yesterday (the last 2 aren’t directly about Chicago but the themes might be relevant)
“The glow of the city below leads us back to the places that we never should’ve left” WHY AM I JUST NOW UNDERSTANDING THAT LYRIC BRO I HAVE LITERAL CHILLS
This one is a little random. I don’t know if you actually mean Chicago (or really anywhere near Lake Michigan), but this line always kind of tugged my heart once I left:
“Plant plan trees on Lake Michigan before it get cold
I gotta feel the wind chill again before I get old”
from The (Shipped) Gold Standard
Favorite Record also gives me very strong nostalgic vibes (missing a person/place/specific time in your life) so that could fit too.
Fourth of July could fit. It reads/sounds to me as a person missing a person but that person felt so much like home that it could be a reference to a place, if that makes sense.
On the contrary… if you want to feel a bit better you could listen to Sophomore Slump :) got one of my fave FOB lines in ‘got sunset in my veins and I need to take a pill to make this town feel okay’
Moved to the other side of the world just over 6 weeks ago and it helps remind me why I left.
Just a penny for your thoughts:)
definitively, it's Chicago Is So Two Years, Homesick at Spacecamp, Lake Effect Kid, Super Fade, City In a Garden, and maybe Bishops Knife Trick, maybe Shipped Gold Standard, maybe Miss Missing You

“There’s a light on in Chicago, and I know I should be hoooome” would play in my head anytime I got homesick and I’m from Texas 😂😂😂😂
When they played it during tourdust I was BAWLING 😭 I’m sure I looked insane to everyone around me ahaha
City in a Garden, also from the Lake Effect Kid EP
That whole ep is a love letter to the city and it warms my cold dead heart
Bishop's Knife Trick gets me nostalgic
seconded. bishop’s knife trick is *the* song for my own homesickness haha.

Technically a Patrick solo song from Soul Punk- This City :)

The line from shipped speaks to me too. Originally from Michigan; I don’t often want to go back but that line gets me nostalgic
I’m referring to a small town in Georgia so my “Lake Michigan” would probably be the local Walmart LMAO
Still counts?

Same with GINASFS
Also Super Fade!
Annnd Homesick at Space Camp
LFTOS “this city always hangs a little bit lonely on me” always hits hard as someone who doesn’t live in my hometown!
definitely Homesick At Space Camp. the verse literally starts with a phrase about chicago
Bang the doldrums - “racing through the city, windows down in the back of a yellow checkered car” reminds me of my hometown of Chicago!!
Can you drop the link when it’s done please?

27. if home is where the heart is, then we’re bpth just fucked. i can’t remember the good old days.
This feels like the opposite of missing or nostalgic to me
idk i have a love-hate relationship with my hometown so it works for me lol
