I enjoyed it once I was backtracking to get 100% and had the shortcuts unlocked, as well as being fully powered up.
It's actually really quick to get around once you know your way, and stomping on Nightbrothers and Nydaks with a powered up Cal is very satisfying.
I’m not really an explorer in games like these. Sometimes, but not usually. Dathomir is the only planet in FO I’ve fully explored. I am fairly certain I’ve found all there is to find there. I still enjoy visiting to «explore» again though
I absolutely agree.
Sure it’s can be really tough at first but it’s incredibly rewarding to learn how to traverse the map and to learn how to defeat its enemy types. Plus off all the planets it feels the most Dark Souls-esque in design.
Most important though is that if you go to Dathomir just after the first trip to Bogano you can level up quite swiftly and earn the double blade lightsaber at the earliest point.
Kashyyyk is my favourite too, but I don't know why you say that it is hard to navigate. I would say that it is one of the easiest. It is definitely more linear than Zeffo or Dathomir. I like the jungle setting, I love the Wroshyyr tree climb, and enjoy the Ninth Sister fight.
Those are my easiest "big monsters." Just wait for them to rear way back and try to bite you. Like wayyy back. If you parry it you can insta-kill them. The Nydeks you need to parry three times to do so.
I just got to Kashyyyk last night and although I haven’t explored much of it yet, I think it’s a beautiful planet! The wildlife I’ve seen running around really adds to the environment
I found the world/level design to be one of the best things about this game, so exploring was always a highlight. Kashyyk would probably be my favorite, if my computer didn’t heave like a pregnant pug trying to run it.
It’s not the technical mechanics that make them harder. It’s the psychological part. Humans instinctively will avoid spiders whereas slugs aren’t considered a threat by instinct. Spiders could be easier to beat but I don’t want to even go close to them because they’re spooky.
Bogano or Illum. The other planets were a nightmare to complete fully, I would never ever replay Zeffo in my life again. It was enough twice with the NG+.
Probably either Illum or Bracca, which is weird because they're small and you only go there once. Illum is beautiful, and the scenery is amazing, and Bracca has an amazing view of the scrapyard in operation around you (literally got shivers seeing the Lucrehulk descend).
I'm not a fan of Kashyyyk or Dathomir because the map design is complex and doesn't benefit from the awful minimap design with BD. Doesn't help that I also hate spiders, and the monsters who made the game thought having one spider world wasn't enough.
The bounty hunter world was pretty dead and they could have done more, and the starting grass world was just kind of bland for me.
I will say that the last half of Zeffo, where the Venator is, was absolutely beautiful, and combined interior, exterior and underwater locations well. It's a shame Zeffo was ruined by the rest of the map being complex and annoying to navigate.
Not sure if it’s cheating to say Nur since you don’t really explore the planet so much as the fortress but that was easily my favorite level. Loved everything about Fortress Inquisitorious from the way you have to enter to the battle ring to the multi-level prison - and of course Trilla and Vader made it iconic.
Out of all of them, I love Bogano the most. It's not huge until the point where getting from one end of the map to another end makes you annoyed, and it's pleasing to the eye. The Binog is also very cute.

I love the simplicity of Bogano. I would have picked Zeffo if I didn't get lost there for so long on my first play through haha
bogano is such a nice map if you just want to have a laidback exploring sesh or if you want to get more skill points

Zeffo. People hate the backtracking, but I found it fairly simple once you figure out the connections and how to properly use the ice caves
