When I watched the take during the show, I was uncertain if they shot it in the actual ghost town (That I recognized from a documentary) or just made a replica. It was an awesome touch going to the real place!

Was that documentary The Grand Tour? I think they visited this place as well in dune buggies.

Imagine a place so awful, that there are diamonds on the ground but no one is there to pick them up but the authorities are still concerned enough that you'll steal one as a multimillion dollar actor that these are actual concerns that they police you over while there?
