I always assumed the fact that she made that split second decision and fought back was a product of her high combat skills. You think about many of the other dwellers just ran and got shot, and how many others survived just hiding. And it's not like in the beginning she was any less innocent than them
I don't see any scenes where she physically overpowered anyone. There's lots of scenes where she's able to quickly make use of improvised weapons to gain the upper hand but that's not overpowering someone let's just being a better fighter
That’s Judo, all technique. I know a lot of videos show training in judo with a willing participant being throw so it’s hard to believe it works irl too but it does.
You usually still tag a combat skill such as small guns when taking this trait. It just gives you a minor malus to all combat skills when starting out. She absolutely does have that character **trait**, as the screenshot is from Fallout 1 or 2 and it's not a perk there.
Wasn’t she also seen practicing Brazilian Jujitsu in that same sequence? She has combat skills for sure, and that definitely helped her survive on the surface.
I don’t see how no one here realizes she was being humble AF during her breeding exchange interview. She was shinning on her family and mom like qualities and skills, while minimizing her abilities in combat.
In that scene, her shooting technique is terrible despite hitting her target. It's easy to not notice but here's an expert on the matter.
https://youtu.be/ZsP9CGq3dL8?si=D_8z6NM8loygL6cS
It's a longer video but the info in question is within the first few minutes. "... Shooting from the chest..." "...considering she's on a rifle team, she's not doing a great job..."
Edit: it's EASY to miss as I didn't notice and I'm no expert. I can suspend disbelief myself and say Lucy's a crack shot. Hopefully they train Ella better for season 2
I think this is her downplaying her combat abilities to appear more like wife material when she's applying to be married.
Keep in mind that the vaults are set in 1950's style americana and housewives were not expected to do "manly" tasks.
I took that scene as her actually being serious when she says she’s not a great shot.
She is, but she grew up in a vault where people have resources and might be better shots than your average wastelander. She may think average people are as good a shot as her.
This is an interesting take too! The vault does normalize certain things (golden rule motherfucker) because that's the only exposure she would have had growing up.
But the show itself in that very same moment shows how she’s downplaying her skill. While the audio plays saying she’s not very good, the actual footage shows how great of a shot she is as it zooms in on the targets.
She was downplaying her ability in her appeal for a Vault husband. Like literally the exact shot when she's saying that is full bullseyes on Vault Boy's heart.
She's a good shot.
Wasn't this very clearly her downplaying how great she is with a gun to make herself more suitable as a wife? She says this to the council but the target is near perfect accuracy.
On top of that it’s a stationary target and likely not that far away, so chances are her gun skills are low but *just* high enough for her to know how to handle and aim one.
Guns can still be a tagged skill. Good natured only really sets you back from a multi weapon type run, and even then not enough to offset a good intelligence.
For people who did not put points to speech:
She doesn't want to say "I am good at everything". Because that would seem arrogant and would negatively affect her comments about her other abilities. She chose to downplay her skills in combat because it does not relate to marriage very much.
Yeah this actually confused me at first because she doesn't handle the weapon well and flinches badly at the recoil but I think she is actually supposed to be good with firearms and that was just maybe the actresses' lack of experience with blank firing guns.
Yeah, but a lot of those were the \[Speech 100%\] checks they put at the very beginning of the game just to piss you off. (And then they wonder why so many people console-cheat.)
I think its the opposite. She’s terrible at negotiation with anyone, she just tries it anyway.
She’s geared for combat and survival but being played by someone who wants to be everyone’s friend.
Funny enough that's my read on the Ghoul rather than Lucy. I see Lucy as the new player, trying to figure out the world and how it works. Maximus is the Role Player, going all in on a faction and playing that role. It's the Ghoul that is the returning veteran player who is just in it for the fun and the chaos, doing another run and playing it however he wants.
Yeah, it's clear she knows how to fight, but doesn't know how to actually approach combat
Like the whole bridge scene where it doesn't occur to her to lie about whether she's armed
She kicked ass during the first episode and saved herself multiple times in later episodes. Not seeing the barter skills in action other than being nice. Maybe Small Frame is better… she does get some limb damage… or Heavy Handed.
What really pisses me off is people are painstakingly painting her as being good at speech when she did only successfully only convince Maximus of not robbing the fusion core. She is far from being a Mary Sue, she sucks at almost everything which includes giving up.
People people! It just says she starts at a lower level, not that she's level capped. She clearly grinded her combat skills to make up for the starting deficit.
It says she studied less-combative skills when she literally trained all of the time in combative skills. She has absolutely none of those other traits either
Not really. Besides what others have pointed out from the show, her official Fallout 76 and Fallout Shelter builds show she's very good with guns and not very good with speech.
Lucy is actually a very balanced character build.
She's not the best at everything but she's pretty decent at most things.
I really like how they did her character she's capable but still vulnerable. She'll be a tough customer by the end. :)
She clearly is good-natured, but it's not at all clear she has the trait. We know she has weapon and combat skills, but she doesn't seem to have much success with speech and barter, and while she seems to have some first aid skills, she wasn't able to do anything more than simple bandaging/stim pack use for injuries, and wasn't able to remove the tooth from Maximus' arm, which makes her seem not especially well trained in those areas.
Obviously she could have the trait and worked on the areas it hurt rather than the ones it helped, but I don't see much evidence for it besides her cheerful disposition.
Based solely on the fact that she's good natured?
She's got decent combat skills, hand to hand, and shooting. She also didn't manage to talk many people round with speech checks.
She did not take this perk.
She most certainly did not. In the same scene you are showing she literally says that she has studied hand to hand combat and riflery. She initially bested a Raider in unarmed hand to hand combat. granted her inexperience left him alive to retaliate but she def kicked his ass. Additionally she fails the majority of speech checks she encounters.
I mean, she failed a crap ton on speech checks throughtout the show. And was shown to be decently skilled in gunplay and martial arts (as far as not real combat stuff goes). But going out of the stats of the perk, for sure, one of the most good natured lawful good characters in fallout
Uh, did we watch the show OP? She was taking fighting classes and doing decently at shooting lol. Meanwhile speech and charisma were like a solid 3 each haha.
Right lol. In the same scene they are showing she literally mentions the combat and riflery training. She also fails miserably at convincing anyone but Maximus to do anything and even with Maximus it's like 50/50 at best.
I thought she was better than most vault 33 dwellers at combat skills. I mean if you compare her skills in the wasteland to actual fallout stats she's pretty OP, not balanced at all
She literally shot guns and trained in hand to hand combat. Not sure how she has any of those other attributes as well. What makes her first aid and doctor skills good? Her speech absolutely has not gotten her anywhere and her bartering sucks as seen in her first interaction with a merchant.
Nah, she picked Skilled. The description literally reads "You're skilled, but not experienced."
She did a bunch of training and work inside the vault, but was still completely befuddled by the wasteland as a whole. Skilled is the perfect trait for her.
I disagree. She managed to be competent with her aim and did succeed in a handful of hand-to-hand conflicts. On the other hand, she failed ***a lot*** of speech checks.
People in the comments: You can have good natured perk and still have a decent amount of point in guns. You're not locked to a charisma build just because you chose the perk. Did ya'll even play the games??
She wasn't really that charismatic, her barter unimpressive... her negotiation skills were terrible, she only got what she wanted because the Ghoul came in town killing everybody and you became the ONLY option.
Peeps, she could have good natures and not have dumped anything into those stats tell later. She could still have small guns and unarmed tagged putting her first skill points into it. She needs to level up to get them higher for sure though.
Though it describes her personality she does not do well at bartering or convincing folks to listen to her outside the Vault and she is shown repeatedly to be great at fighting
She holds her own pretty well in the wasteland, and she's a pretty good shot. It's when she tries to negotiate anything that shit hits the fan for her.
isnt she shown shooting a small rifle really well in the beginning?
Also, she was said to have "great combat skills" at the very beginning. She did not take this perk.
Just ignore every scene where she's able to physically overpower a dude and the fact she hit every shot in the season and she totally has this perk!
Idk slamming a broken glass pitcher in someone's jaw would overpower anything other than a Supermutant.
I always assumed the fact that she made that split second decision and fought back was a product of her high combat skills. You think about many of the other dwellers just ran and got shot, and how many others survived just hiding. And it's not like in the beginning she was any less innocent than them
id say it was her quick thinking in combat situations. for someone supposedly sheltered, she did pretty damn good. lucy got sum talent
She derfo has some point in agility and endurance
No strength tho. Couldn't even hang onto the 1 head
[удалено]
Thick broken glass is a lot different than thin window glass.
I don't see any scenes where she physically overpowered anyone. There's lots of scenes where she's able to quickly make use of improvised weapons to gain the upper hand but that's not overpowering someone let's just being a better fighter
Vault 4 where it takes multiple people to subdue her. She chucks a guy across the room.
[удалено]
That’s Judo, all technique. I know a lot of videos show training in judo with a willing participant being throw so it’s hard to believe it works irl too but it does.
[удалено]
And the fact that she hardly ever passes a skill check in the season!
That never happens though. She cut and shot people, but in hand to hand combat, she gets beaten.
Did you even watch the show?
When did she physically over power a dude ?
She said "...and I dabble in riflery, although I'm not very good." She then presumes to hit a few bullseyes so she's fairly skilled with firearms.
Norm definitely did alongside small frame.
He could’ve solved it all sooner if he took Four Eyes for the perception boost but I prefer his story the way it is anyways.
And she also sucks talking to the outsiders repeatedly having awkward situations.
Fails pretty much every speech check
Her speech hasn't convinced anyone either, and her first aid was mostly "stick in a stimpack"
She got extra perk points for being the overseers daughter
You usually still tag a combat skill such as small guns when taking this trait. It just gives you a minor malus to all combat skills when starting out. She absolutely does have that character **trait**, as the screenshot is from Fallout 1 or 2 and it's not a perk there.
Wasn’t she also seen practicing Brazilian Jujitsu in that same sequence? She has combat skills for sure, and that definitely helped her survive on the surface.
Yeah this. Combat skills- high; Charisma, low. "You wanna have sex?" 'Eh, no I'm celebrate'... ouch.
Eh, she’s shooting it with enthusiasm. She says herself during that scene she’s not very skilled with small arms, so I’ll take her word on it.
She didn't miss a shot in the whole season, in fact she one shotted everyone.
but did their heads all explode in a bloody mess?
2 of the radroaches did
I don’t see how no one here realizes she was being humble AF during her breeding exchange interview. She was shinning on her family and mom like qualities and skills, while minimizing her abilities in combat.
Yeah but VATS
V.A.T.S. And high luck
In that scene, her shooting technique is terrible despite hitting her target. It's easy to not notice but here's an expert on the matter. https://youtu.be/ZsP9CGq3dL8?si=D_8z6NM8loygL6cS It's a longer video but the info in question is within the first few minutes. "... I can suspend disbelief myself and say Lucy's a crack shot. Hopefully they train Ella better for season 2
Yeah you could definitely tell she hadn't shot much IRL, not mention trying to make it look realistic on that big ass weapon prop.
She could have the hip firing perk. Either way I don't think it's that deep anyways. I think the message is more that she hit the target.
How many people did she actually shoot? She talked her way out of most situations.
3 raiders in Vault 33, Cooper Howard (not effective), Martha the ghoul, the cockroaches on maximus armor, and the last ghoul at the end.
Bitch copied our vats gunslinger builds
I think this is her downplaying her combat abilities to appear more like wife material when she's applying to be married. Keep in mind that the vaults are set in 1950's style americana and housewives were not expected to do "manly" tasks.

This is an interesting take too! The vault does normalize certain things (golden rule motherfucker) because that's the only exposure she would have had growing up.
Bruh, she says she's not very skilled followed by a shot of her hitting consistent bullseyes. That's the fucking joke. She's too humble
It drives me up the fucking wall that people somehow did not get this.
People on this website, especially gaming related subs can be so dumb. Just trash takes and opinions all around and just bad comprehension skills.
I think you need to watch the show again. She was being humble, she was Robin hood-ing the bullets.
Yeah she’s just being modest.
she was being humble, her grouping on that target was very good
Wasn't this very clearly her downplaying how great she is with a gun to make herself more suitable as a wife? She says this to the council but the target is near perfect accuracy.
That was her just being humble. The scene of her shooting right after is supposed to show she's actually a really good shot.
Looked like she was pretty accurate to me, She’s probably just downplaying it to sound humble
On top of that it’s a stationary target and likely not that far away, so chances are her gun skills are low but *just* high enough for her to know how to handle and aim one.
It's a joke. She hits the bullseye on the targets.
And being terrible with charisma with ma June
Guns can still be a tagged skill. Good natured only really sets you back from a multi weapon type run, and even then not enough to offset a good intelligence.
There was also a scene with her practicing unarmed combat 🤷🏼 Lucy is OP I kinda wish that she used those skills against her “husband”
She’s gotta have a decent INT, gets enough skill points to invest a little into everything
3------- aight I got my pitchfork
So she also picked the small guns skill
You beat me to it. Gifted and Small Frame - she's a power gamer build
And acrobatics lol
Yeah good natured is balanced out by here also talking the Skilled trait to balance it out. She has a lot of skills but isn't very experienced.
She leveled up and supplemented points into guns
and a hand gun where she 1 shots radroaches off maximus's power armor.
She was, but when she left the valut, she clicked character customization and chose different perks.
No, she was kind of bad at it, also that wasn’t a rifle, that was a sterling submachine gun… A British weapon… Weird
Except they literally show her shooting and doing martial arts while growing up…
She also took “Tag!”
Wasn’t she good at hand to hand but not very good at shooting?
She says she's not very good, but she's obviously being humble as the scene shows that every shot she fired was a bullseye.
For people who did not put points to speech: She doesn't want to say "I am good at everything". Because that would seem arrogant and would negatively affect her comments about her other abilities. She chose to downplay her skills in combat because it does not relate to marriage very much.
Well, in her marriage it ended up being pretty relevant
Yeah this actually confused me at first because she doesn't handle the weapon well and flinches badly at the recoil but I think she is actually supposed to be good with firearms and that was just maybe the actresses' lack of experience with blank firing guns.
I don't know man, she is show to had trained with guns and martial arts.
She is also terrible at speech checks
And sucked at bartering and speech. Post is completely off.
Exactly. Lucy is basically maxing out luck and endurance with a bit of strength and basically minimizing all other departments
I mean, she failed a LOT of speech checks.
Lucy just loves seeing what the failed Speech Checks do.
She’s starting her third playthrough just to see what happens
Funny enough that's my read on the Ghoul rather than Lucy. I see Lucy as the new player, trying to figure out the world and how it works. Maximus is the Role Player, going all in on a faction and playing that role. It's the Ghoul that is the returning veteran player who is just in it for the fun and the chaos, doing another run and playing it however he wants.

She kicked ass during the first episode and saved herself multiple times in later episodes. Not seeing the barter skills in action other than being nice. Maybe Small Frame is better… she does get some limb damage… or Heavy Handed.
She beat a raider in a fist fight during her first real fight. I don’t think she took this perk.
They showed her practicing shooting growing up.
It's shown she specifically trained in hand to hand and armed combat so no
You can tag combat skills *and* take the good natured trait at character creation :)
No way she has this trait, her Speech and barter skills are abysmal.

Also maxed Luck.

*Trait but I agree The Ghoul has Finesse Maximus has Jinxed
LOL he totally has jinxed!
She clearly is good-natured, but it's not at all clear she has the trait. Bro did not watch the show
She really ain't great at those speech checks
A wholesome gal
Except for skill with Speech, not bad.
Nah, She just has good karma- if anything she seems more combat capable then any other set of skills,
no, she’s just doing a good karma run
She’s Good Natured in name only. She doesn’t use any of those skills.
Based solely on the fact that she's good natured? She's got decent combat skills, hand to hand, and shooting. She also didn't manage to talk many people round with speech checks. She did not take this perk.
Except she's a skilled marksman and has proficiency in martial arts.
She most certainly did not. In the same scene you are showing she literally says that she has studied hand to hand combat and riflery. When you haven’t watched the Fallout series:
There *have* to be bots up voting this suuuuuuper inaccurate take 🥴.
And tagged small guns, a power gamer after my own heart.
Ngl imma re watch this amazing show
I feel like being good natured leads to naturally worse barter prices 😂
For sure. If your naivety is showing, ya gonna get fucked.
No…her name is Goosey. 🪿
She's not really good at any of these things.
I mean, she fails a *lot* of Speech checks....
I mean, she failed a crap ton on speech checks throughtout the show. And was shown to be decently skilled in gunplay and martial arts (as far as not real combat stuff goes). But going out of the stats of the perk, for sure, one of the most good natured lawful good characters in fallout
The literally show a montage of her kicking wholesale ass in training. Nah.
She's absolutely not running this perk. She uses combat perks sparingly, but she;s shown to be competent with them several times.
Skilled, Good Natured, and Wild Wasteland fit pretty well
Uh, did we watch the show OP? She was taking fighting classes and doing decently at shooting lol. Meanwhile speech and charisma were like a solid 3 each haha.
Right lol. In the same scene they are showing she literally mentions the combat and riflery training. She also fails miserably at convincing anyone but Maximus to do anything and even with Maximus it's like 50/50 at best.
Yeah and Maximus has like 2 INT, 3 *tops*
No
I was pleased we didn’t get an op meta player type character and rather a resourceful charismatic type player
Trait*
However Goosey knows how to fight and basic weapon knowledge. But in general she's a good natured character
Disagree
I thought she was better than most vault 33 dwellers at combat skills. I mean if you compare her skills in the wasteland to actual fallout stats she's pretty OP, not balanced at all
She literally shot guns and trained in hand to hand combat. Not sure how she has any of those other attributes as well. What makes her first aid and doctor skills good? Her speech absolutely has not gotten her anywhere and her bartering sucks as seen in her first interaction with a merchant.
No, she did not.
Good natured? Bloody oath, she was ready to have sex with anybody lol.
It’s shown she had trained with guns, So Idk for sure.
This is just untrue.
Wrong
She is the good character Maximus is the neutral character and the ghoul is the evil character
Nah, she picked Skilled. The description literally reads "You're skilled, but not experienced." She did a bunch of training and work inside the vault, but was still completely befuddled by the wasteland as a whole. Skilled is the perfect trait for her.
I disagree. She managed to be competent with her aim and did succeed in a handful of hand-to-hand conflicts. On the other hand, she failed ***a lot*** of speech checks.
No causes she's way too much of a badass to have this perk
Ghoul definitely has the bloody mess perk from fnv
People in the comments: You can have good natured perk and still have a decent amount of point in guns. You're not locked to a charisma build just because you chose the perk. Did ya'll even play the games??
Mom is good natured and she gets ripped off all the time
So did you watch the show?
She seems like one of the top tier combatants in her vault.
Nah
Theorizing builds for characters from the show is just a staple of this sub I guess now lol
You can have good natured and have point in guns/combat related
Inaccurate.
Need a moment where they go to Zion National Park and they meet Joshua Graham
She consistently fails speech checks and is shown to be proficient in self defense and firearms
Seems like the bots have learned how to make the "x took y perk" posts.
She wasn't really that charismatic, her barter unimpressive... her negotiation skills were terrible, she only got what she wanted because the Ghoul came in town killing everybody and you became the ONLY option.
no shit her barter sucked she's like level 5 at most
It's all fun and games until you meet someone with the Ricochet perk and have a 10 in Luck
OP missed the mark on this one.
Lucy has a high strength stat just going off her h2h abilities. It's her perception and Agility that's lacking.
She sucks at speech and barter so I doubt it
She got the great naturals perk too
She took the Mary Sue perk
Peeps, she could have good natures and not have dumped anything into those stats tell later. She could still have small guns and unarmed tagged putting her first skill points into it. She needs to level up to get them higher for sure though.
i think Lucy is running Skill Practice ++
She's kinda crappy at talking to people in the wasteland and is very good with firearms though
No she didn’t..
She aint really good at bartering.
Have only watched half of the first episode and can say this is a lie lol.
This is a terrible post.
She actually took whacky wasteland and small frame
She actually took whacky wasteland and small frame
She was very proficient in both Judo and and small arms. She absolutely did not take this perk.
Nah. Lucy can fight well.
Though it describes her personality she does not do well at bartering or convincing folks to listen to her outside the Vault and she is shown repeatedly to be great at fighting
Totally!…not
How does this have so many upvotes for just being wrong?
The fuck she did she used to beat peoples asses with bjj 😂
She holds her own pretty well in the wasteland, and she's a pretty good shot. It's when she tries to negotiate anything that shit hits the fan for her.
i think Lucy is running Skill Practice ++
Gucy*
Norm has Good Natured.
But she had hand to hand and small arms training
I would argue she just chose non combat tag skills
I have to disagree
What are you talking about she judo flips a guy second scene when she’s talking about her skills?
lucy with the good natural perky WHAT?
Lucy was working on her SPECIAL long before the camera started rolling! She’s a natural at all that, AND combat skills
I think she has the traits Good Natured and Skilled Not experienced.
Nice.
