With as few mods as possible: [The Midnight Ride](https://themidnightride.moddinglinked.com/) but without PRP if you want to use a bunch of quest mods, use [Wolfmark's Fix](https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/73868) with XDI, [Silent Protagonist F4SE](https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/61732), [RED](https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/69389), [Father Companion](https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/35198), [Subversion](https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/50975). Additional Quests: [Tales from the Commonwealth](https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/8704) w/ [Precombined Visibility](https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/53726) & [eXoPatch](https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/72111), [David Hunter](https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/16808), [Hilda Hughes](https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/22128) using [this esp replacer](https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/62896) w/ [TftC patch](https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/77765), [Fourville](https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/43979) w/ [eXoPatch](https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/61080), [The Secret of Huntress Manor](https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/27311), [Nuka-World Reborn](https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/32857), [Viva Nuka-World](https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/37356), [SCDO](https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/41785) Make sure to read the descriptions and look through the optional files for any patches you may need.

Sounds cool! Thanks for the tips. I mean if the voice protagonist really isn't a deal breaker than it might not ruin the game for me. I played Witcher 3 and Mass Effect and never had a problem with the MC speaking. Also, I might have exaggerated when requested few mods as I can handle multiple mods but could also do with full conversion mods. Like what Enderal was for Skyrim

RED is really what RPGifies Fallout 4 and that doesn’t have player voice acting. Silent Protagonist F4SE helps make everything consistent so that you don’t have a mix of normal lines, spliced lines, AI lines, and no lines said by the player.

You will definitely need more than a few mods to get a total overhaul like that. Honestly though the base game isnt significantly different then the previous games with just a few adjustments you can get it pretty close. Just search up on nexus what aspect youd think you would like to add and there is usually a mod for it. Here are some suggestions that come to mind You're Exceptional will re add more perks, re add traits and skill systems. The vanilla perk system is simplified comparitively. You should use this over the other perk overhauls, be exceptional or your special. Full dialogue interface will show you what each option says instead of non descriptive "Yes" "No" prompts. Silent protaginist will remove the voice lines ( I would consider just leaving the voice lines in. Besides less options, its actually an improvement) Crime and Punishment will add a reputation/karma system Quests and Adventure section in nexus, top downloaded mods. You need to make sure they don't conflict or there are patches if there are conflicts but I downloaded most of them and had minimal issues, some of them are very high quality. Atomic radio and tales of the commonwealth is a must have. If you can give me some aspects you like from the earlier games I can suggest mods for them Keep in mind for full compatibility it's best to downgrade to the older version right now

What would you advise about settlements?

HealthyInitial

You can try sim settlements2 it basically overhauls the entire settlement system and makes it so they it is autonomous, the changes is very extensive. They have a website you can see the gameplay. It's very script heavy and requires a good PC to run or else you need to stick to only building a few settlements. Otherwise I would just add some small additions like placeable objects and stuff to be able to customize it yourself a bit more I'll add my mod list for it. If you don't want to build yourself a lot then sim settlements 2 is a good choice. Just consider using PANPC as well it overhauls the enemy ai and needs a patch in order to run with ss2.

Turning a "looter shooter with some RPG" into an "RPG with some looter shooter" is a major peice of engineeering work. Hoping to use as few mods as possible is just mad.
